Please read my post again. I was not intending to be sarcastic, nor was I trying to be mean. I think if you read it again, you will see that.

Reacting back to Maeg, is a hell of a lot different than going out of your way to try and make other people, and yourself, feel miserable.

Unless your intention was specifically to have everyone feel sorry for you, you would have been much better served to deal with Maegan in a much more intelligent and thought out manner, rather than trying to use your life history to attack back. It only really hurts you.

If you don't have the money to see a therapist, there are programs that will help you to do so. Check with your social worker if you have one - if you need to, ask to be referred to a mental health advocate. If you don't have a social worker, find one, since your financial situation seems to fit the criteria, there is assistance that you should not have to pay for. Use the programs, since you say seeing one helps.

Kelly, it sounds as if you've had a difficult life. The very last thing you need is a greedy old fake like Sylvia Browne taking your money by telling you bullshit stories.

There are legitimately trained social workers who charge a whole Hell of a lot less than Sylvia who are available to help you deal with what life has given you. A good therapist will tell you what you need to hear and will be there for follow-up, unlike Sylvia. Stop looking for help from the "next life" and get some help in THIS life.

THANK U!!!!! For the NICE ADVICE. YEP I as known as "THE DRAMA QUEEN" In this so called FAMILy do intend to get a LITTLE DIRTY, I get SO PISSED OFF, because I guess I've NEVER really been out of my Mothers life; Home. I did spend 2 mths. in San Fran. Because I was TOO embarrassed to tell my Sibs WHY I DON'T DATE, and the Touching ordeal. And the MIS TRUST of most all people. So they all thought I was gay, which there's nothing wrong with that, but I wasn't and am not. I DID NOT MEAN TO SPILL MY GUTS. A lot of stress in my life. I can not Drive. And I think I said in my last letter's? THAT I DO NOT TRUST SHRINKS. They give you pill's to mask whats wrong with you. The last one I saw she was pretty good. She wanted to Hypnotize me, but her and her Doctor Husband said that it would prob. send me over the brink.
I'm SO DAMN SORRY I EVER CAME TO THIS SITE. I will leave now. and not come back.

Oh, just recalled something. My mother, after her DIVORCE TO HER FIRST HUSBAND, SHE WENT TO SEE THIS SPIRITULIST, READER. VIVIAN GRAY. SHE TOLD MY MOTHER THAT SHE'D MARRY AGAIN, DAH. AND THAT SHE'D MARRY SOMEONE IN THE AIR FORCE, AND SHE'D HAVE A LOT OF CHILDREN, AND HE WOULD DIE EARLY IN LIFE OF SOMETHING WITH IN HIS CHEST AREA.
OKAY. 1. SHE MET MY DAD, AND WITHIN 3 WEEKS THEY MARRIED.
2. SHE HAD 6 KIDS.
3. MY DAD DIED AT THE AGE OF 40 YEARS OLD. OF AN HEART ATTACK. HE WAS JUST SEEN BY HIS DOCTOR, AND HAD A FULL CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH.
HE HAD AN INTERVIEW IN KY. HE DIDN'T WANT TO GO TO. BUT MY MOTHER FORCED HIM TO GO. okay, do you people believe that psychic's are real, or you just don't beleive sylvia? because i beleive in the paranormal, because...why not? my sister is a medium and she see's (not a pun..😊) dead people. at first i didn't beleive her, but it got so bad she had to move out of this house..(our house is pretty creepy), which i was amazed because she really didn't want to leave. also, my grandma has dreamed of every baby that was born. she dreamed of my aunty's baby 1 day before she told everyone about it, and my cousins 2 babys (one before she even knew). also i am very sensitive to these things. i get a sick feeling when i see things because most of the things in our house are bad. also my sister (the medium) had an imaginary friend when she was little, but it was actually a spirit called micheal jonny (who still lives with us today) my mom has seen him many times. she was near death when she saw him and he told her to stay strong, and she's still alive today! my teacher was a VERY BIG skeptic 2, until he saw a picture of his brother in front of his house , and there was a face in the window. also his brother had a demonic spirit in him when he just turned 1, and he said awful tihngs to his mother (even when he didn't learn 2 talk yet!) oh yeah1 never mess wih ouija boards, serioulsy NO JOKE! don't be a bastard and go do it know, or it's gonna come back and kick you right in the ass! okay..peace

Waht amazes me is that NASA spends US$1.4 billion a year and achieves satelitte communications, probes to other worlds and superb research in aviation; Yet the US Education system spends US$30 Billion a year, and comes up with Creationists, Columbine and people whose spelling and grasp of communications is as poor as Kelly S S.

Kelly S S, considering how communication can be a life or death matter in a technological society, especially one armed with nuclear wepons and a proven tendency to use them, I think it probably is a BIG DEAL.

And I have a life. Sadly, it involves making life possible for people who have no appreciation of it and use it to waste their lives so that they end up needing my service again to go straight back on the road and do it again to themselves or some other victim.

It isn't personal, Kelly S S. It's the culture involved, and it seem to be a universally human one not isolated into any particular culture. If you thought I was being deliberately insulting to you, that was not my intent.

I'm a bit on the Dyslict sp? Side. What can I do about that, take classes? Sure. I can do that. I use to be able to SPELL so well, I do not no if it is the drugs I'm on for my R.A. and Head stuff? or where or when it started to happen, all i no, is that it drives me AS BATTY as it does YOU, and anyone else. My Short TERM MEMORY is SHOT too?
What do you do for a living? Sounds like either an police man, or Detective, or Social Worker?
I'm VERY, VERY SORRY the folks you help out dont' give a crap!! I WOULD 100% GIVE A DAMN!! TRUST ME!! Maybe it's your lessons from GOD, or whatever you believe in? Or....It's your karma bitin you in the behind! If u believe in that? Or someone from high above is telling u to LISTEN, and TRUST. They KNOW U R BEATING YOURSELF UP with this JOB!! I did indeed leave that job, because people simply did not want me to help them, and in fact started wearing their problem as a badge of honour or a reason not to try to acheive.

I was a reading difficulties therapist. And I used to be dyslexic myself. I overcame it through something that people consider to be equal to Nazism these days . . . self discipline and practice.

Now, I work in a laboratory where at least my efforts achieve something.

I'm TRYING TO GET OUT OF THE HABIT OF READING Backwards, or getting words, and NUMBERS mixed up. I figured if I can get rid of The Disorder that makes folks do things over and over and over again, I can Lick this problem too. My Brother, the drunk, has it really bad, and the reading prob. But thinks BEER will CURE THESE PROBS. Idiot. Am Glad to Hear YOU ARE AT A JOB U LIKE!!

Everybody keeps saying that, but nobody can show that it's true. There is nothing to indicate that she isn't just keeping all the money for herself. Of course, even if she donated 99% of the gross income she receives, she's still defrauding her customers. Fraud is fraud, period.

Remember how pissed off people got when they found out that the American Red Cross was not applying the immediate post 9/11 donations to the effort, but were instead replacing the money already allocated from their general fund? And that wasn't even misrepresentation, they were quite up front about it and people threw a hissy fit because they only donated to help the victims of 9/11, not victims of future disasters. If people got half as upset at Sylvia for the outright fraud she's commited she'd be gone in days.

I have written DATELINE to do an Week Long if not LONGER Look at folks like Ms. Browne. Who Charges WAY TOO MUCH for One LOUSY HOUR of Readings. I also Asked if they'd LOOK AT ALL the other FAMOUS SO CALLED PSYCHICS, Like JOHN EDWARD, and JAMES VAN PRAGH.
I realize there R some FOLKS out there that CAN do this ability, GIFT! And I pray, that they DO NOT CHARGE ANYTHING FOR THIS GIFT. It's not RIGHT. I DO NOT BELIEVE GOD GAVE SOMEONE THIS BEAUTIFUL GIFT TO MAKE THEMSELVES "MILLIONAIRES"!!

I have to get this off my chest.

Is it just my imagination or is there a connection between believers in the paranormal and illiteracy? It seems most of them can't spell and have no knowledge of the rules of grammar. I know for some the problem may be that English is their second language but others are obviously born in North America.

I guess it's easier to deceive people who aren't smart enough to learn to read or write.

Kelly, has it ever occurred to you that a person who, by their own admission, cannot read or write just might not be in a position to evaluate a phony "psychic" like Sylvia Browne?

If you persist in putting your admitted illiteracy on display in a public forum, I don't think you have much justification for complaint when people comment on it.

As for your posting on ratbags.com, that is a site I visit occasionally and I just happened to stumble across your "contribution" there. Again, you're putting your comments on display so you have no reason to assume that someone won't comment on what you say and how you say it. Nothing said on a public message board is private.

My observations about illiteracy were not meant for those who have English as a second language or have physical limitations with learning. Those things are usually apparent and tolerated on most forums. In most cases the person will mention it and the participants (including me) have no problem with it.

The way I see it, our arguments against the paranormal are based on common sense and scientific reasoning. If there is a flaw in our reasoning, I like to hear it. Just being told we are cynical non-believers about everything is not much of a counter-argument. It is even less convincing when it comes from someone who can't form a simple sentence. Tell us where our logic is wrong. If for some reason you are not able to, maybe you shouldn't be arguing so strongly about it.

Having blind loyalty to someone like Sylvia Browe is dangerous thing as some of her customers have found out. She makes a lot of money from those who do not question her claimed abilities. If she is a phoney, don't you think she should be exposed? If she is for real, then she won't mind being questioned. But past experience has shown she goes to great lengths to avoid proving herself. Instead she makes personal attacks to shift the attention to someone else.

I'm sorry you are having a bad time this month. Hope you feel better soon.

ALL I did.....was Reply, on HOW my session turned out with Ms. Browne. I have told all of u that I wrote "Date Line" to do a story on her, and other's like her. BECAUSE she CHARGES just too much Money to have an hour with her. Someone DID NOT READ my last lengthy letter on this board. And I have NEVER BEEN TOO "RATBAGS.COM" Someone Put my letter out for all to see, and comment on my lousy Grammer.

When I last saw her, on the "MONTEL SHOW", She predicted that we would have a lot more of REALLY BAD Hurricans, But.......I believe she said mostly in the state of Fla.......? She did say they'd be Devastation. She was correct on that.
Still it pisses me off that she more or less LIVES off of Us; People, she charges WAY TO MUCH darn money! And gives out MEDICAL ADVICE as if she had an MD license!

i read one of Sylvia Brownes book and it was really convensing it even made me question my own religion but i soon found out from my older sister that if we "designed" our life in Nervana than the hell do we "design" a really crapy life i mean come on people use your head how hard is it to make prdictions on the next 100 years NO ONE WILL BE ALIVE TO VERIFY IT!!!!! if you believe this crap than i feel sorry for you poor suckers cause i have some bad news for you YOU HAVE BEEN S-C-A-M-E-D SCAMED!!! :coolmad:

The Earlier letters I wrote, were VENTED because SOmeone said I would DRIVE MY MOTHER TO HER GRAVE, now this person didn't know me from adam! And all I did was RESPOND to all the HOO-HAW of Ms Browne! Now if someone said something like that to you, you'd prob. get upset, or just wouldn't give a damn. I also Vented because all Hell has broken loose in my family. So Sorry to have PISSED ANYONE OFF. That's what's WRONG with this Country today, among many other things, NOBODY GIVES A CRAP ABOUT ANYONE! They just tell U TO GET HELP!! And I admit I'm a DRAMA QUEEN, At times. as for sylvia i makes me sick just thinking about how she feeds off of other peoples fears, and pains. i told my friends about sylvia and now they are mad at me because they are Sylvia Browne Lovers and to make it worse one of them is actually going to get a reading done and i told her that is was a waste of money but that just made her madder at me. (is 'madder' a word?)anyway i don't think that i would take med. advice from anyone but my doctor and if i die because they didn't catch something in time than maybe i was suppost to die what do yall think about that?

Apolgie Accetped. And don't feel so badly about your spelling, When I 1st got on this board, BOY THE YOU KNOW WHAT HIT THE FAN!! Not about my comments about MS. BROWNE, but about my SPELLING of all things? I Cried a lot, and was Angry A long time for these so called people to have made fun of me and my lack of English; Spelling and all that goes with it.
I have t8in' all of my books I USED 2 have of Ms. Brownes and tossed them into the Barrell to be recycled. I would've burned them but its a HUGE WASTE of PAPER, and TREES. Tell Your Friend U know of someone whose been to one of her siminars, and my mother got chosen to ask MS. BROWNE an Question, It really didn't happen, Yes Her last two kids moved out, yes her young boy, whose a man, got remarried much to our dislike! He does not love her, but feels sorry for her. I feel sorry for the kid her kid, stuck in the middle and not being raised with RESPECT, and Punishment, she the kid gets away with EVERYTHING, she's nearly in highschool, And like her sister She'll end up barefoot and preg. with NO HUSBAND to help support that family. But MS. BROWNE was WRONG!! For we ALL MOVED TOGETHER! Not separtly...?! And She said I Needed to be put on an HIGH PROTIEN DIET, Hell, I could've told you that! I was GROSSLY OVERWEIGHT! Then, and ONLY ATE JUNK FOOD! Since then I have lost nearly 175 pounds, and still had the VERY BAD PROBLEM WITH ANXIETY ATTACKS, have to take Libriums for them, THANK GOD in HEAVEN for LIBRIUMS!! And she didn't tell my mother that my HEALTH WOULD GET WORSE!! I have 100% R.A., I'm only 44yrs. old, I have Sinus Disease, Thyroid Disease, Migrane Head Aches, And Asthma. I going to see an LUNG specialist at 8am tomorrow. I can barely walk, I get dizzy a lot and FALL A LOT!! I can't drive, I don't even own a car, I live in the boonies. It's GORGOURS HERE THOUGH, Especially in The Fall, and the Winter.
My family thinks I'm nuts! I can tell what they are thinking before it comes out of their mouths and it ROYALLY PISSES THEM OFF!!!!! I know about most of their plans, especially my little brother who lives 40 feet down the hill from my eledrly mother and I. And they really get PISSED AT ME!!
Well, I have pulled my lower back out, and my wrists are so swollen along with my fingers it's just killing me!! So I'll let You go.

Of course your frustrated with people for not seeing a fraud. (Which I am not saying whether I believe in Sylvia Browne or not). Let people believe what they want. I know your trying to get people to think and use their brain but who cares. Let them find out for them selves. As long as people have a belief and it's not hurting anyone. Your right Sylvia shouldn't be giving medical advice. I have read her books and she even says to go to the doctor many times first before taking her word for it. She has also donated to many charities. I know this because my aunt in cali volunteers for many charities and has sylvia on record for doing so. Now as for the paranormal. I used to be a skeptic I guess (I never rule anything out). But I have had many, many unusual encounters with things,as well as my family. You name it, it has happened to me. My dad was a hardcore skeptic. (He is buddhist) finally he experienced things that he would have thought of as bullcrap. He now has a more opened mind. All I have to say is keep an open mind and think what you want, come up with your own conclusions. Now I do believe in God, Jesus and everything for that matter. But I also believe in spirit guides and past lives. But trust me I have my head on straight. Let some people have some hope in their lives. later

I must admit though.....I sometimes Have to write in all Caps, or some Caps, For my fingers get stuck and I can't get the darn caps off! I have as I've told everyone and their dog's, R.A. which is Rhymortoid Arthritis, especically in my hands and fingers, so they get stuck A LOT!! So I'm sorry for the Caps. I am still Very iffy about Ms. Browne, I would love to have SOMEONE on this planet investigate her throughly, no disrespect to her, and her powers? No one, including me, has any control over what another person believes. That, however, doesn't take away their right to criticize what they believe. It's called Free Speech. Again, I can't make anyone do or not do anything. You're overlooking the problem that may arise if a person believing in her "powers" ignores or forgoes REAL medical advice. This is in addition to the obvious fact that a fraud simply shouldn't profit from her fraudulent behavior.

I'm sure her publisher's lawyers insist that a disclaimer like that be included in all her books. Think about this, though: how likely is it that a person who is reading a book written by a "psychic" is going to see a doctor until the problem has gotten so bad that the visit is unavoidable? Wouldn't you expect that a substantial portion of her audience is composed of people who don't trust "conventional" medicine?

No offense, but your personal experiences simply aren't relevant. They aren't testable and therefore can't be considered as "evidence."

Your Right cranky m Guy. But seriously would you go up to someone, let's say a mormon, and tell them that all of there beliefs are false because there is no evidence. Now I know this is america and freedom of speech is important but also learning to keep some things to your self is also important. Now you can say whatever You believe and so can others just don't go off insulting other people for their beliefs. But share yours without questioning their beliefs. But thats your choice. You do have the right to criticize people. I am innocently guilty of that as well. But these types of things are really personal to some people (not me really although it sounds like it) and they would like to share their beliefs without being harassed and questioned about them.
I don't think people should go around believing everything they hear like many do sylvia. But again it's their choice and it gives them hope.(In some cases (mal-practice)which they shouldn't have hope in).
Millions of people around the world are getting medical advice from everything such as: T.V. friends, Strangers, teachers, and family. I'm not saying that sylvia has the right at all, but they are, as well, giving bad or maybe good med advice. They trust these people and object.lol. I guess not strangers, but these people are very influential to one another. Now doctors. some are good some are bad. Many doctors are "legally" keeping their patients sick and coming back for more "treatment". Sometimes there is just no avoiding it. Yes sylvia should be prosecuted for giving this advice, or at least they should tell her to stop or else she will be.
The T.V. gives out all kinds of medical advice, even ads for medication. The drug companies don't want to permanantly cure someone, they want temporary cures. If people got better, the drug companies would go out of business. And the FDA and the FTC don't want that either. Anyway back to whatever the hell I was talking about. OH yes! Sylvia does need to stop. And people need to realize that medical opinions matter first.
Now I am not saying that by giving to charity it automatically makes you a good person. Sylvia could be doing this to soften up her "victims" into thinking she's a humanitarian. So I'm not saying that it makes you a good person.
By stating my personal beliefs about the paranormal, I am not saying that there is evidence, of course I'm not going to convince people that there is evidence by stating that. But it is quite relevant here, since I am writing about the different discussions in this forum. By stating my experiences, I am not trying to convince anyone, I am simply trying to have a conversation with anyone who has had similar experiences.
People who say "keep an open mind" aren't saying to accept it, they're saying not to dismiss it, so it's a kind of an "I don't know" approach.
Since there is really no evidence that psychics actually do exist or anything else for that matter, there really is no evidence that it doesn't exist either. It's kind of like saying that just because you can't see a house behind a hill then it must not exist. But it could. You see. As for science, scientists are discovering new things all the time, which could change the way most people think and believe. It happens and it will continue to happen. Sort of like discovering the way gravity worked and learning that the earth isn't flat but is round.

One more thing, charging $700 for a reading is ridiculous. Even if it were an eight hour session it would still be ridiculous. That is something that everyone needs to think about when looking at a psychic and their credibility.

There are many books that state life after death and I have read some of them. I do believe in it but have yet to come across actual evidence. I will probably take a look at that book though, sounds pretty interesting. Maybe fill us in and state some of those facts, that would be helpful.
Kelly, I think you should try to get more people to write in about sylvia. The more people who write in, the better. When a lot of people do something together it has a better impact, and the more likley they will respond.
Gotta go, I have to study and watch some sunday television (FOOTBALL!!!!). Anyway, laters.

i agree with carter. cranky media guy is bitter and jealous because he probably has no beliefs. cranky media guys website sucks anyway! :coolmad: cmg hasn't even written back because he knows he's wrong.

Roxy, from your use of the language, I'm assuming that I shouldn't break out the BIG words, but I'll respond to you anyway.

What exactly is it I'm supposed to be "bitter and jealous" of? What do my "beliefs" have to do with Sylvia Browne's claims? I realize this is probably an alien concept to you, but if you are supporting Sylvia's claims of supernatural ability, the burden of proof is on you. In other words, if you are saying that Sylvia can do things which violate the known laws of physics, either PROVE your statements or accept the fact that Sylvia is a liar.

If you have a moment, you may wish to look up the definition of "ad hominem attack," by the way. If you intended to hurt my feelings, you failed miserably. I'm laughing at you even as I type this.

hi cranky guy how are you? I dont believe in sylvia, but how can her powers defy the laws of physics? lets see, shes not defying gravity, the laws of motion, torque, angular momentum, or do you even know what that is? no i would have to say that if she did have powers, that it wouldn't be defying physics. newton would have to agree with me.
now go back to your star trek marathon and think about all of those girls you can't get.
