# 16 on her predictions page:
No longer a single Pope, but a triumvirate of Popes, each assigned to a geographic collection of Catholics.
...
I don't think her "news" section is supposed to be current events, but news about HER doings. |

Also no mention of her agreement to take the James Randi paranormal challenge which she made on the Larry King show. Why pass up an easy million bucks?
I did find this and thought it was quite funny:
"For example, never ever send any funds to The Tide Group in Palm Beach Florida. They are a total fraud group pretending to be Sylvia and Chris." |

Thanks Stephen
I've always found it fascinating how these people consistantly miss major events ie. the pope, devasting earthquakes etc. yet still manage to rake in the bucks.
Oh well, she did predict Robert Blakes aquittal!!!
Holy Shit Eh?!!! |

As you probably know, Al, Randi has a "Sylvia" clock on his site (randi.org), counting the days since she said she WOULD take the challenge.
Anyone who believes that this old biddie has supernatural "powers" needs to check into Hotel Reality for some R & R. Ain't no such thing as the "supernatural," folks.
Not only is she full of shit, but she also comes dangerously close to practicing medicine without a license, telling people what drugs they should and shouldn't take. Randi is in possession of at least two tapes of her "phone readings" during which she says almost the exact same things, word for word, to two different suckers, over a year apart. Not only is she a fraud, she's a LAZY fraud.
I'm hoping that Randi can come up with a few more tapes where she says the same things so he can turn her into the authorities, for non-licensed medical practice. She'd have a hard time defending against that, I think. Gee, do you think she'll predict her prosecution? |

She's got lots of nervous twitches & things. She's on Montell all the freakin' time. She's always playing with her fingernails, or her hair, touching her mouth...
And with those fingernails, it's obvious she's sold her soul to the Devil.

CMG, the Sylvia clock seems to be gone from the Randi site. Could be because the Randi server is only a 32 bit machine and cannot handle a number as large as the number of days they have been waiting for her to be tested.
I'd like to see a transcript of those tapes. Are they online? Somehow I think that even if she was convicted, there would still be a lot of people who would use her services. Some people never learn. |

Al, you're right about the Sylvia clock. It was well over a thousand days before Randi took it down. I think he made his point.
As far as I know, the tapes are NOT online. Randi asked if anyone had tapes of a Sylvia phone reading but wouldn't say what he wanted them for.
A while later, he said that he was in possession of two of them and posted excerpts from both of them. The excerpts are VERY similar; she gives the same "medical" advice to both callers.
Randi asked if anyone had any more Sylvia phone tapes. That's the last he's said about it on his website. I'm assuming that he's collecting them to make a case for her illegally practicing medicine, but don't quote me. I'm just guessing based on things he's said about her in the past.
Like I said, not only is she a phony, she's a LAZY phony. |

I've seen her on Montell a few times...and she just seems ODD. The person asks a question, Sylvia then goes into, Oh, tell your ghost to go away, he's dead, blah blah blah...It's stupid. The people are stupid, Sylvia is stupid. STUPID. BLECH.
And the medicine stuff? I can't BELIEVE that is allowed to be on T.V. Oh, you have cancer? Stop the drugs you're own, they're making it worse. Take some "pirin tablets". (If anyone has seen The Bird Cage, you know what I'm talking about.)

You have the right reaction to Sylvia. Montell is either stupid enough to believe in that shit or knows that it gets an audience and simply doesn't care that it's a load of crap. I'm betting on the latter.
"And the medicine stuff? I can't BELIEVE that is allowed to be on T.V. Oh, you have cancer? Stop the drugs you're own, they're making it worse."
You're right again that she shouldn't be practicing medicine without a license, especially on TV where a gullible viewer with similar symptoms might stop taking life-saving medicine. It's disgustingly immoral for that old biddy to do that to make a living. I sincerely hope that James Randi finds a way to get her prosecuted. |

Thanks for the update on the Sylvia Clock.
Just for fun, I went to the site where the James Randi Educational Foundation keeps their financial statement, to see for myself if they do have $1 million that can't be used for any other purpose. And what do you know, there it was. Wasn't too hard to do.
I would like just one of those TV show hosts to ask Sylvia, "Why don't you just take the test even if he doesn't have the million? That would prove your ability to everyone, once and for all."
But of course they won't do it. |

Yup, Randi is very open about where the money is and who's holding it. Of course, the assholes who are afraid of taking his challenge claim loudly (and falsely) that he doesn't have the money. That must come as quite a shock to the Wall Street firm that is holding the fund for Randi.
As you point out, the information about the fund is posted on Randi's website (randi.org) for anyone to see. Ain't no secret there. |

It hardly took a "psychic" to predict that the Pope was on his last legs. Did you SEE the old coot in recent years? Helen Keller could have made that prediction. Not impressed.
SHE ALSO WARNED PEOPLE IN OCTOBER TO STAY AWAY FROM INDA AND THE HOLY LAND 2 MONTHS LATER LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENED IN INDIA
Uh, Shawn, India was actually relatively unaffected by the tsunami, which is what I assume you're referring to. As for the Holy Land, you DO know that it is a LONG way away from the area affected by the tsunami, right?
YOU LOOK ALL OVER HER SITE FOR THIS AND YOU DONT SEE IT DOESNT MEAN SHE DIDNT PREDICT IT MAYBE U SHOULD TOON IN TO MONTEL AND SEE HER ON WEDNESDAY OR MAYBE GO TO A LECTURE WHEN SHE IS IN YOUR TOWN THEN U MIGHT HEAR WHAT SHE SAYS AND SEE THAT SHE IS PRETTY ACCURATE
Nor does the fact that it isn't on her site proof that she DID predict it. Duh. She sure likes to brag about her "predictions." Why wouldn't she brag about THIS one, assuming that it actually happened?
As for appearing on a talk show somehow being validation of anything, I have two words for you: Jerry Springer.
OK, I have a few predictions of my own. I predict that, very soon, there will be a new Pope. I also predict that there will be some disturbance in the Middle East. You shouldn't go there.
I also predict that Shawn will continue to type in all caps and continue to be taken in by "psychics" who want him to spend money on their books and lectures. |

Most of the people taking part in this forum are very ignorant. Open your eyes, all the evidence is there.
Let me ask all of you something. What do you think Sylvia does with all the money she makes?
She gives almost all of it to charity because she is a great humanitarian. Maybe some of you little people should stop sitting around bitching about other people and do something for humanity. Because, as Sylvia and I know, THAT'S WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT! |

"Let me ask all of you something. What do you think Sylvia does with all the money she makes?

Even if that is true, how does that prove that she's legitimately "psychic?" If she is such a great humanitarian, why doesn't she take the JREF Million Dollar Challenge (as she said she would), win the money and give it to charity?
"Maybe some of you little people should stop sitting around bitching about other people and do something for humanity. Because, as Sylvia and I know, THAT'S WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT!"
Maybe we dislike a bitchy old woman who lies about having "special powers," misleading people in the process and who refuses to submit to a test of her claimed abilities that she publicly said she would take. That should bother you, too. |

Hey, Jack, would it burst your little Sylvia bubble if you found out that those "phone readings" she does for hundreds of dollars are read from a script that she hasn't bothered to change in at least a couple of years? In other words, she isn't actually "reading" the client at all, but merely reciting the same generic drivel to more than one person.
I'm sending this from AOL's crapper browser so I don't have the ability at the moment to open another window and get the exact location for this information, but I will come back later and give it to you.

Don't you find it interesting that she said virtually the exact same things to two different people (who didn't know each other or have any connection to each other) months apart? Do you STILL want to defend this fraud? |

Well, you're exactly correct, Maegan, but her job isn't really to give "revelations" to people. What she does is earn a living by telling grieving people what they desperately want to hear. After all, who would want to think that a loved one has completely disappeared (even if that truly is the way the Universe works)?
She's a ghoul who preys on the honest emotions of sincere, if misguided, people. That's the bottom line. |

Well, that's what I meant. No matter what answer Sylvia gave, there is NO WAY to verify it. She could have said, "No," and it would only have made a difference to the woman asking.
I just don't understand how people can seriously think she has more answers than they do! Or think that she has some sort of engergy or crapola that helps her 'know' what the 'energy' around them is like. SHEESH.
My favorite is when someone says, "Yeah, I have a ghost in my house..." and then she goes on to tell them that they have 2 ghosts, b/c all 'dead' people are 30 or some crap, so if a little boy dies, his little boy spirit and his 30 yr old spirit is there too. GAH!!! HOW FRICKIN' NUTTY DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO BELIEVE HER?!?!
And I love how in every show she manages to tell people that while some people <i>think</i> they are living on a Native American burial ground, this one person on the show <b>really is</b>. So, at least 1 in about 200 people are living on burial grounds. I should really stop watching. I get way too frustrated with her. |

Hey, Gammy (my new nickname for you), have you ever encountered a concept known as Occam's Razor? You really ought to look into it.
Basically, there are two possibilities here. First is that Sylvia Browne has amazing psychic abilities that defy the known laws of physics. The second possibility is that Sylvia just makes shit up. Guess which one I'm going with?
"you said things were really bad in ur marriage but then u said it pissed u off when she started talking about him. ofcourse she knew u still loved him."
Another concept you might wish to look into is called "rationalization."
"havent you seen the matrix. where she tells Neo that he isnt the chosen one even though he is."

Actually, Maegan, there is a 1 in 50 chance that you were born male, and still are, no matter how you look or whether you give birth or not.
Many supposed women are actually born with XY chromosomes and are thus genetically male: This can be caused by hormonal imbalances in the mother during pregnancy or exposure to pseudoeostrogens in vegetables. They are fully functionla females, of course, but their genes belie this; It is a case of Phenotype against Genotype, to be technical. |

Actually...
"Even in people with the typical XX or XY chromosome patterns, outward sexual appearance at birth can be ambiguous. Some people develop in the womb as true hermaphrodites and have both ovarian and testicular tissue. This is statistically rare. <b>More common are people who are sometimes referred to as pseudohermaphrodites. This condition generally occurs in response to prenatal exposure to androgens. Chromosomal males with androgen-insensitivity will not fully develop male genitalia and may appear female or have ambiguous genitalia at birth. Chromosomal females who are exposed to high levels of androgen in the womb may begin to develop partially masculinized genitals. </b>Many people who are born with these genital "ambiguities" are encouraging use of the term intersex or intersexuality to describe this condition. There is a growing controversy in medical practice on how to best medically treat intersexuals, if they should be treated all. This controversy about surgically"

"Boy, I was depressed before I started reading all of this, and now....hell, i am MORE DEPRESSED now."
What about this discussion is depressing you?
"I went to C her some years ago. She stated 2 my Mother that I should be put on an HIGH PROTEIN DIET."
As I've mentioned here before, Sylvia Browne comes dangerously close to practicing medicine without a license on occasion. I don't think that telling someone to go on a high protein diet would constitute that but she tells people she has never met to make changes in their diets, etc. based on very little information. No ethical dietician would do such a thing, I don't believe.
"And that YES, her son, my brother would marry again, which he did....in ''02."
Most divorced people--which I assume your brother was--marry again, I believe. Not such an amazing prediction there.
"And that YES her 2 remaining Kids, I and my Brother would move out of the house, but after CHRISTMAS."
Kelly, Christmas is on December 25th. There are only six days left in the year, followed by a new year after Christmas. If something happens, it will almost certainly happen "after Christmas," depending on how you look at it. Isn't today, August 1st, "after Christmas?" Again, this is not really much of a prediction.
"That was 1999 I believe in GA. It took a DAMN LONG TIME, but ALL CAME TRUE. ONLY....That I STILL ENDED UP living with my elederly mother, and my brother and his oh so LOVELY FAMILY Live down the hill from us. Happy Marriage, NO."
OK, so, are you saying that her "predictions" didn't really come true after all? Sounds like it to me.
"The HIGH PROTEIN DIET WORKED, I have had since childhood SEVERIER [SP?] ANXIETY ATTACKS. I've taken EVERYTHING for to get rid of them, and the FULL YEAR OF BEING ON AN HIGH PROTEIN DIET ACTUALLY WORKED. To my surprise."
How can you say with assurance that it was the high protein diet that helped with your anxiety attacks? Did nothing else change in your life during that period? Did you ever consult a real doctor about the anxiety attacks? If so, what did he/she say? If not, why not?
"So.......Sometimes I believe and sometimes I DON'T."
Kelly, may I suggest you go to the web address I mentioned in another posting above? You'll see that James Randi has listened to a few of Sylvia's phone readings and shown that she tends to say the exact same things to different people. In other words, her "readings" are from a script, not as a result of her getting "psychic impressions" from the person on the other end of the line. If you read the transcripts, you may even recognize some of what she's said to other people as being the same stuff she told you. Would that change your impression of her?
"And still can not figure out WHY SHE ISN'T nor is any other PSYCHIC on the LARRY KING SHOW ANYMORE?? Any Answers out there?"
Maybe Larry's ninth wife (or whatever number she is) has talked Larry into having some conscience? Besides, doesn't Montel Williams give Sylvia sufficient butt-kissing? |

Wow, Kelly, your mom seems to really be concerned with her adult children moving out.
Get a clue.
Here, let me make a few predictions for you. Because of your high protein diet you will have health issues in the future.
Because you can't figure out how to stay out of your mother's house - you'll probably send her to the grave. She will die.
Your brother's marriage has a 50% chance of breaking up. |

Meagan, u r not a very nice person r u? & the rest of u. U have no idea of WHO I AM do u? I come from an ABUSIVE FAMILY. There R 6 kids, 3 of each girls, & boys. Us GIRLS, well U could say my Father was a little to FOND OF, ESPEICALLY AT NIGHT, And when H had 2 drive me 2 another school than where my siblings went 2. My 3 sisters' lets C, 1 hates men. The other, is an drunk, and a mean drunk. I....I have been imprisioned for going on 44yrs. I have tried to kill myself several times, for the memories of yesteryears are too much for me to handle. My MOther Will most likely PUT ME INTO MY GRAVE MEAGAN. She permitted the Sexual abuse upon us girls, and then beat the liveing hell out of us. I was thrown across the room so many times, and dragged up and down the stairs by my hair, U wouldn't believe it. My Mother now, 2005 Doesn't RECALL A DAMN THING?? Though I HAVE TO LIVE WITH HER, and the MEMORIES 24/7. I couldn have SEXUAL RELATIONS, because I was really messed up in that area. Dear old dad really fu ked up his girls lives. Oh, the boys, well that got to witness it all. The oldest doesn't have much to do with any of us, or Mother. The other one is the remarried one, and he's a mean drunk, hell he is MEAN all the time, he's abusive to me, to his mother....to his siblings, to his, and his kid's friends, and their pets. He'd sell his mother for a few hundred bucks. The littlest Boy, whose a man now is doing pretty well. but refuses to have any pictures of Dad. I just found out I either have MS or Cancer. So I told myself all of my life KId you were never EVERY MEANT TO BE BORN. And i'm finding out that is correct. Or I did somethng pretty damn bad in a past life. Or I KILLED MYSELF in a past life and have to relive it again to get thru the damn lesson. I suppose I was good Entertainment 4 U ALL. The laugh is on me.... |

I've been staying out of this one but... (deep breath)....
Look, I'm honestly not trying to be cruel here...but do you really think that you are the only one with a story like that on here? I know for a *fact* that some of the people on this forum, like you, have some very sad stories about their own family lives. To me, it appears that you are using your story as an excuse, to get back at Maegan for being mean to you, and that is inexcuseable.
The fact is, going to someone who may be feeding you a line is not the best way to handle things that happened in the past. Possibly the best way to get control of those types of things is taking that money and seeing a good therapist.
And, do you really think that trying to get back at Maegan by telling your story to strangers on the internet is going to make her, or particularly and especially you, feel any better? |

I had written out like 3 versions b-4 i sent the 1 i just sent. this 1 was MUCH MILDER than the other 2. And SHE HIT FIRST. I have a RIGHT like anyone else to react back. And NO I usually don't tell ANYONE my lovely past. I'm surprised u even read it. other than u r HURT because I supposidly HURT MEAGAN. You both have a past together?
I have seen the shrinks, I am on an anti-depressant. It helps. But I just didn't expect the Sarcasism, and MEANFULNESS I got from U and prob. the other's on this site. NO. I suppose I do not belive in Sylvia. I'm reading up on her these past few days and have found some pretty interesting stuff i did not no about. And if, IF I had the money....I sure as hell wouldn't be living here. I don't believe in Shrinks too much these days. I am sorry I wrote in. And MEAGAN....I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings.
