William Hung Not Dead Yet

image I've noted before how popular celebrity death hoaxes have become. In fact, it's kind of like a weird sign of status for a celebrity to have their death falsely reported. It shows people care, in a sick and twisted way. Britney still leads the pack, having been killed in car crashes many times, but now American Idol anti-star William Hung has joined this elite group of prematurely-reported-dead celebrities. Reports of his death via heroin overdose have been spreading all around the internet. They originated from a faux-news piece on Broken Newz. His suicide note was particularly touching: "I have no reason of living... my art which is my importance to the best everybody laugh to... I make end here... goodbye world of cruel." Celebrities Death

Well, I am certainly glad to hear that it worked out for you, Stephen. I've never been told about the CAPS thing before myself, and I--like you, always use CAPS whether I am taking care of personal business or things for class or work. I appreciate you setting me straight because I certainly don't want people to think that I am yelling or hollering through emails, posts, etc.

wikid, are you referring to Well Hung or to Stephen?
Posted by Rod  on  Fri Mar 25, 2005  at  07:34 AM
Obviously Well Hung. Everyone knows that Stephen has no right to enjoy his life.
Posted by Charybdis  on  Fri Mar 25, 2005  at  07:43 AM
I get a little joy.
Posted by X  on  Fri Mar 25, 2005  at  07:54 AM
Well stop it. Enjoying your life is the same as stealing from God. So there.
Posted by Charybdis  on  Fri Mar 25, 2005  at  08:18 AM
As I understand, if you steal from the Devil, life would be more fun.
Posted by X  on  Fri Mar 25, 2005  at  09:46 AM
What the hell is wrong with Charybdis? And Stephen was worried that I was on medication!!!
Posted by Nikki  on  Fri Mar 25, 2005  at  12:13 PM
"What the hell is wrong with Charybdis?" Inflation, that's what. And foreign policy. And Quadaffi calling the Isrealis and Palestinians "idiots". And Barney Martin died. And I bought a whole case of copper jacketed rounds that I can't fire anywhere. And the hot chick I work with dumped her longtime boyfriend and by the time I found out about it she already had a replacement. And Arlington is planning on building the suck-ass Cowboys a new stadium. And Sandra Bullock got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And The Incredibles is out on DVD and I haven't picked it up yet. And I'm gonna go out and blow too much money tonight on some thing that I don't need but really want. And my president and his quarter-wit brother think that it's their business to meddle in a family's personal lives. And the PSP is out and for some reason I don't want one. And EBay scammers. And stupid people who give money to EBay scammers. And spam. And the stupid 10% of people who purchase products offered in spam. And people who think that a new, more sane Pope would be a bad thing. And nobody donated to the "Let's get Charybdis laid" fund. And WB is making a crappy (come on, admit it, it will be crappy) Wonder Woman movie. And Caias. And while I'm on the subject, Linda Carter doesn't live next door to me. And The Family Guy is returning but Greg the Bunny isn't. And I don't get paid enough for what I know and do. And nobody likes me, boo hoo. And people who manage, somehow, through no fault of my own, to completely fail to have a sense of humor about things and get all excited for no reason.

And Stephan won't buy me a pony.

maybe he has the same ailment that killed Willie Hung... Charby? You gonna make it?

I haven't started singing yet, which the doctors say is a good sign. I may yet pull through.

Woww it's really good news. You're all jealous of him, I think he got famous because he is really a great singer, no doubt about it. I'm waiting his next album for sure.
Posted by Greatman  on  Tue Sep 20, 2005  at  02:06 AM
Even if he was a bad singer, you shouldn't talk about peopl elike that. How would you like it if you were him? Even though he was a bad singer, like i've said before, he sang from his heart. He did what he enjoyed best. TO actually come to the point where you decide to take your own life is beyond belief. HOw would you like it if the whole world made fun of you because you did what you enjoyed? You guys should all be ashamed of yourselves. You guys are pathetic. I hope you get to the point where you feel as he did. Then maybe you'll see where I'm right

why are you people so ignorant???!!! who cares if someone is a bad singer!!?? i mean if i went on american idol as a joke with my friends and sang really bad, and then they offered me money to do it again i'd do it too! just because his singing is not to your taste you shouldnt ever say that he should die! he's a regular person, not everyone has a good voice and if they dont they shouldnt die b/c of it! come on people lets be a litte more understanding of the situation

I find atrocious English, spelling, and grammar to be a sure idicator of "hoaxness".

Hello, this IS William Hung. I am not dead, and I have no idea of why I would be dead. I Don't appriciate some of the comments I am reading on this page. They offend me. I make a fool of my self on one television show and now I get people saying that they wish I were dead. That is a shame and very mean. You guys are jerks. Sure I can't sing and I didn't have any professional training, but what did I do to you to make you say such horrible things. What if I were to say those things to you. I doubt you'd like it. What if I were to kill my self, I bet you would all feel really low. Just think about that the next time you say that you wish someone were dead. In the words of Tom Cruise, "You're a jerk."
Posted by William Hung  on  Thu Feb 09, 2006  at  08:41 PM
lay off of the poor guy everyone. William Hung is awesome I think. Why would you say those things?
Posted by nyob  on  Sun Feb 12, 2006  at  07:10 PM
I tink everybody should respect anybody and so if william is really dead, i tink we should give him our last respect...

how would you feel if you are william? how would our parents feel if we were to be mock by others? Our parents doesnt have the choices to choose from a photo album on how their child could look like before they were born...or the sweetest voice we can be...

Salud to all..

I thought he died of a heroine overdose?????
hmmmmmmm i guess not............wish he did though he's pointless and he cant sing for crap......i dont understand why people like him sooooo much..........maybe it's b/c he looks like a huge retard and it's entertaining??????
well i give him a year before he dies!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by judith  on  Thu Jun 29, 2006  at  02:14 PM
William Hung is a pathetic loser... even if he is making money for singing like that... he is also giving a ba .. It's simple really, IF HE CAN'T SING, THEN HE SHOULDN'T SING. HE NEEDS A KICK IN THE ASS, SO HE CAN REALIZE THAT EVERYTIME HE SINGS... HE WASTES PEOPLE'S VALUABLE TIME! Those videos i saw on the internet, were a waste of WHO KNOWS HOW MANY MINUTES OF MY LIFE!!! He totally ruined that "I believe i can fly" song. Because of him, i will never listen to that song again... coz everytime i hear the song, i get this picture of his face in my head... i have been traumatized! LoL
Posted by Ivy  on  Thu Aug 31, 2006  at  04:45 AM
Haha, wow what a conversation we have here. Well basically, I didn't really listen to William Hung when he was alive (if he DID die, that is...) but I've heard him enough to say that he does indeed suck at singing, and he shouldn't get money for singing like shit. But nevertheless, I feel bad for his family and all that he died. So there, everyone wins. 😛
Posted by Shauna  on  Wed Jan 24, 2007  at  07:27 PM
And Ivy, I agree with your comment there. He knew he sucked at singing, he shouldn't have ruined songs like that and bothered wasting his time with the music career that he sucked at. He should've tried something else with his life, rather than to sing horribly on American Idol and get paid for it. What a waste of non-talent, hahaha.
Posted by Shauna  on  Wed Jan 24, 2007  at  07:30 PM
you heartless sons of bitches should reconsider your life if your saying william hung should die cause hes a bad singer.

I Rant... Part 1:
Wow... despite the fact that nothing has been posted in this thread for nearly a year and a half, I figured WTF since I spent most of 2008 in hospital recovering from a broken back so it was sort of as if the year didn't exist for me... so really, I'm only a few months out of date. And I wouldn't even bother but I'm so stunned by this thread that I feel compelled. We have Nikki, who neither knows that typing in all caps is equivalent to yelling nor recognizes Stephen's use of a famous line from an 80's classic, Pink Floyd's The Wall, and, I suspect, has no idea what the name Charybdis (or Karybdus.. Charybdus) refers to because she's mis-spelled it and I'm sure if she understood the reference she'd have gotten the spelling correct... First, Nikki - you shouldn't have to wait to have someone explain basic online etiquette to you if you're gonna post online, or even write an email, for that matter... and what's with the blessing people thing? You're using the whole "bless you," or better yet, "I'm praying for you," thing, not as a true prayer for them - that is, unconditionally - but as a weapon with which to strike at someone who doesn't agree with you. You pray, or offer blessings to others not, I suspect, for their own well-being but in the hopes that they'll become more like you or change their opinions and beliefs to yours, which is both sad and hateful, especially coming from someone who is so freaking high and mighty. Listening is an art that requires practice but which allows one to learn - if you're running your mouth (or keyboard) you can't be learning... which is perhaps why you don't know the most basic online etiquette there is and which has existed since before email and the internet first became a tool for the masses, rather than just the DOD and universities (I suspect Nikki has no idea what I'm talking about here, but maybe someone will tell her, or maybe, she'll try to go and find something out for herself... it's called learning... I referred to it a couple sentences back)... Then we have a bunch who think that since Wm. Hung is a bad singer and a joke that this is reason for him to die, either by suicide or murder - nice priorities (I won't say people... I'd hate to see you all have to face compassion equal to your own were you to suck at something)... Then there's my fellow country-person, Ivy, who actually blames Wm. Hung himself for her having wasted her own time watching and listening to him. I'm embarrassed you're a fellow Canadian. If you don't want your time wasted, close the browser window or change the channel - nobody is making you watch crap so you either have no free will or you've just abrogated any responsibility you have over your own existence - are you still on the breast or have you been weaned since you last posted? Of course, if you are being forced to watch Wm. Hung online against your will, for godsake let us know so we can send some help...

I Rant... Part 2:
Stephen... Charybdus... Brilliant, but wasted, sadly. I offer this advice as someone who, I think, is older than you both and has been both a longtime listserv mod and BB Sysop - my first 'puter was an Apple II Plus that required two 5 1/4 inch floppies just to boot up... whose Mac SI had one of the old O'Connor drives that regularly locked up but which was easily fixed by lifting the entire thing up off whatever surface it was sitting on about a 1/2 inch and dropping it... and so may have a bit more experience with unthinking stupidity and how best to respond and manage it. Yeah... I'm old, or at least old comparatively, I think, but I don't think that makes me smarter - only more experienced, and so I offer this without intending any condescension - When faced with such obvious willful obtuseness, you have to keep it simple... no references that require basic general knowledge or the skills required to find it. Don't assume that the person you're interacting with will be motivated to find out what you're talking about if they don't understand it. It's more likely that they will take umbrage and respond as if you have 'dissed' them, because they are insecure and so driven by an ego that is enlarged from overwork because it has to chronically protect them... like an enlarged heart that has become so from chronic overwork because the rest of the body is letting it down, a willfully stupid person (that is, dumb by choice or laziness... the same thing, really) will have an overdeveloped ego that has become so due to having to constantly protect its owner's sense of self because the second someone disagrees with them or expresses an opinion they don't understand, they feel they are being attacked because they have so little substance that every single quanta of their personality is precious to them and so any challenge to any of their beliefs, no matter how insignificant or trivial, must be defended to the point of even damaging themselves... They are walking self-fulfilling prophecies unless and until they wake up and realize that they are not the centre of the universe and that the universe owes them nothing... that they (to paraphrase Fight Club) are not special. They are not a beautiful or unique snowflake. They're the same decaying organic matter as everything else.

I Rant... Part 3:
Robert Heinlein lived by the motto that "There ain't no such thing as a free lunch" - often shortened to the acronym tanstaafl... so well known that it's even got a wiki page... and he wrote a great deal about personal responsibility and the difference between those that waited to have the universe explained to them - to have knowledge spoon fed to them, and those that went out and created themselves, fed themselves whether with food or knowledge, but were fundamentally self-sufficient. People make fun of the movie Starship Troopers, from one of Heinlein's novels, and so they should... the film sucked and ignored the entire point of the novel - that we are owed nothing but basic respect and compassion, for which we owe the rest of the world basic respect and compassion. Everything else must be earned, and to think otherwise is to infantilize oneself to the detriment of society entire. He posited in many novels that as individuals became less and less motivated to be adults, and were rewarded rather than penalized for self-infantilization, that it was often accompanied by a decline in basic decency and respect toward one and other - that is, manners... the definition of the individual who walks around angry for being 'dissed' without even considering that self-actualization might be a more reasonable response, or to whom it never occurs to extend to those who are perceived to have 'dissed' them, basic human decency and respect in the first place... the fundamental belief that respect is owed and not earned... and that in almost every instance of the fall of human empires, cultures (whether in the larger sense or even within something such as a corporate culture or neighbourhood) or societies, this pattern could be found... that the beginning of the decline and fall was always signaled by a deterioration of basic manners and respect for one and other, followed by a general deterioration of language and basic communication skills requiring logic, followed by a shift in attitude toward general self-infantilization by almost all members of that group, and that those who survived were ultimately the individuals that realized that there ain't no such thing as a free lunch, whether referring to food, shelter, or knowledge and wisdom...

So, Stephen and Charybdis, by all means fight the good fight... but don't waste time on those who can't be bothered to spend time on themselves. Stephen... as a mod, you owe them nothing other than basic respect and decency and after that, if they insist on whining and thumb-sucking instead of learning to wipe their own asses or look up the most basic information required to function in the world - that is to tie their own shoelaces and walk out their front door without being hit by a bus, literally or metaphorically, then f**k 'em...

Cheers Fellow Survivors... I go now to polish my crossbow, inventory the canned goods in the shelter and stoke up the fire under the still.
