The cows are plotting something. They're meeting in secret COWncils. They're even keeping blogs. I'm not sure what it's all about, but it seems that 05.05.05 is the date when the cows will show their hand (or hoof, as it may be). (via Metafilter)
they're finally getting revenge on all you cruel f*cks who allow them to suffer horribly just so you can enjoy a hamburger

ALLOW them to suffer?
Damn.
I thought I was doing it on purpose.
And why bother putting asterisks in words like that, rj? Everyone knows what the word is anyway. I think it makes someone look rather silly when they do that. Either type it out, or use a different, and complete, word. Are you trying to show us that you're above swearing or something?

And, for the record, I enjoy a lot more than just burgers.
Like ribs, various steaks, roasts, sausages, and even the occasional hot dog.
Has anyone ever noticed that PETA, with all of their rambling about killing animals for food, doesn't bother to mention by-products that they still ennjoy, like Jello, and glue?
😕

The amusing part of the Chick-fil-A campaign is the fact that they call their products "100% Cow Free - Bovine Seal of Approval" despite the fact that many of their products contain cow milk (brownies, cheesecake, etc).
So it's okay to milk them, just don't kill them, uh?

All I know is the cows were at my work (on the UM campus) yesterday and they handed out small smushy cows with the web addy on them. They played Dance Dance Revolution. It was all very amusing. But when asked, all they said was "moo".

Couldn't be the Chick-fil-A cows. They're a bunch of liars and traitors. They have steak breakfast burritos...

Just found you guys. This may strike you as humorous.
I'm a bouncer in Annapolis, MD, and Friday night, the cows tried to come into the pub I work. Damn things didn't have ID and would only say "Mu" when I tried to card them. Maybe cows speak Mandarin. I could tell that both of them were girls, probably early 20s, inside those costumes. They walked in and tried to hand out business cards before they left real quickly. Not many people were interested in cows interfering with their drinking.
Oh, and they were handing out cowbells as they walked down the street, which meant I had to deal with drunken frat boys all night yelling, "This bar needs more cowbell!" and then ringing the damn things.

The obvious question being...
What did the business cards advertise?
Aand also, did you happen to keep one?

I'm a cow I'm curious
Watch me now I'm furious
I'm a cow I'm full of hate
Watch me now I'm on your plate......
I love the barenaked ladies

Barenaked ladies RULE!
And the band's pretty damned good, too!
😜

Hmmm, PETA seems to have taken a hate-on for the chicken industry this month.
Maybe next month is cow month?

My son loves the cow song. 😊
I've seen BNL several times, it's a fun concert.

"You can be my Yoko Ono
And you can follow me wherever I go..."
I still think "Hello City" is one of their best, though.
Damn, thinkin about PETA's got me hungry. Time to whip up some burgers. With Heinz 57. (If I had cheese, I'd add it just to piss them off).

I agree with you rod, hello city definitely ranks among their best. In fact, the entire gordon cd probably ranks among their best.

The cards just had the same logo as the website and advertised the site. Nothing else was said.

Must be a Maryland thing, because today they dropped little cards for http://www.bovineunite.com around campus (University of Maryland, College Park). My guess is a Tv show, due to the phrase "tune into the networks...". I dont think its PETA, theyre not this clever.

Hey! You too can fit in with this CD of genuine (or is that gen-yooou-ine) cow sounds...

Actually PETA most certainly DOES mention by-products:

Oh, and if you see any more of them walking around, it said on the blog that the proper way to address them is moo-ooo...
I went to the website last night between 8:45 and 9 (Eastern) but nothing seemed to be different. Anyone else notice anything?
I expect the moo-ther ship to land soon.
I was even kinda lookin forward to it. What a bummer.
