how i love peoples pre-conceptions of charvers, i was always out on a friday night down the park drinking, taking buckets n necking E. I also wore the stripey jumpers, the rockports, the jogging bottoms, a helly hansen and an excessive amount of gold jewellery and the biggest fringe ever. However this does not mean (as people are forever trying to insinuate) that I was in any way, an idiot or that I was always causing trouble and starting fights. We used to go down the park as it was a laugh not because I was a delinquent and I have some excellent memories from those days. I would guess that I am totaly right in saying that all the people calling charvers are the ones who wouldnt dare say anything if face to face with one. It tends to be that these people are also the ones that had no friends at school, ie goths, hippies, posh snobby people etc. For the most case these abusive patronizing tit heads are venting anger from their lives as being saw by everyone else as social outcasts. Also for anyone wishing to call me thick tell me or say I am a tramp etc, just to let yous know that it is not a good idea as I live in a large 3 bedroomed house, neither is it a good idea to question my intelligence as I am at the moment training to be a nurse. Remember this next time your in hospital because you got kicked all over for being sarcastic, patronizing, bitter snobby BASTARDS!!!! thanks for reading this you little freaks al have fun treating you at your local NHS hospital lets hope I dont get my hands on some morphine to put you out of your misery you friendless weirdos............ |

i shall try to make this as clear as possible
1) i am not a skater. i cannot skate. i will not skate.
2) Gemma, i have nothing against people wearing silly outfits. or hanging around in parks. or training to be nurses. i have a great many things against drunken idiots who shout random abuse at people at four in the afternoon and go out looking for fights. it is THESE people that i call chavs, but there seems to be a strong correlation between the former and the latter.
3) Teenage pregnancies. stop kidding yourselves. i refuse to believe that anyone would 'decide' to become a single mother at the age of 15. or 14. or even 13! they are always accidental, brought on by excessive underage drinking which leads to casual sex. and you're right, chavs will rule the earth, since they breed so much earlier they have an evolutionary and anthropological advantage

Nick, you have to be able to watch daytime American T.V. Maury Povich has regular guests that are 15, 14, 13...12! who WANT to get pregnant. Although, I bet they just want to have permission to have sex. Ricki Lake also has those guests. I remember staying home sick & watching slutty girls walk across the stage & talk about how they would crawl out their windows at night and have sex with multiple people before climbing back in before their mothers came to wake them up in the morning. Moms were crying, girls were cussing...Then they have the follow-up shows where they decide paternity! Those are great fun. Some girls drag 4 or 5 men on to the show & say, it must be one of them...and it never is. I'm sure these are more staged than anything...but what hoot! |

Also if your fear from mankind derives from seeing charvers then I think you should get a grip and go give yourself a good shake. For the most part charvers are in the age range of 12-17 so I am guessing that there is no major conspiracy to take over the world any time soon so I doubt you have any need to worry. |

Forgot to say, Nick in my experience teenage pregnancies are not to be blamed for excessive binge drinking. At the end of the day if people want to have sex they will. A bottle of bella is not the route of the problem of under age sex so I would do a bit more research on that if I was you. |

But, really, does nobody else find all this chav talk really quite offensive? Why has it suddenly become OK in the UK to take the rip out of the lower class? If you look at the website chavscum there's a great many things there that I find frankly disturbing (people with usernames like 'kill_all_chavs'). Yet the middle-class media have embraced the term and is using it freely...don't you think it's a little bit much to be puring out all this vitriol on a group of people whose chief fault seems to be having less money than you? Everyone loves to have a go at 'chavs' trying to pick fights with everyone they see and being generally offensive - but believe me, drunken d1ckheadery is not confined to the lower classes. I happen to be at a university with a ludicrously high proportion of public school / upper-middle class students, and I largely find that groups of these people are just as offensive - if not more - as the 'chavs' at home - in addition to being older (and therefore less excusable) and generally far more rude and up themselves. Don't criticise a certain class of people before you've looked properly at your own. |

'chav' was orignally a romanov (gypsy) word meaning 'boy'. it is from the same language that we get 'pikey' meaning man. the words kind of migrated due to the similar tastes in dress and stealing things. |

A thought occurs. If the language skills of the average chav deteriorate far enough, maybe they will be unable to function in normal society and just become extinct! Perhaps high voltage or poison warnings should be written in particularly high-brow words to help speed this along? |

I got lost on ardslass's comment. Have decided that it a poster can't be bothered to spend the time to write properly why should I bother to spend the time trying to translate it?
All I got from it was that she's a northern irish grill and she eats steaks.
