Not One Damn Dime Day

In the spirit of the burning a candle for solidarity hoax, I recently received the following in my email. Thought I'd share it with everyone; though I have no idea how it would attract the government's attention.
turn your back on the economy!!! Please share this email with as many people as possible...we can protest with our spirit!!!
NOT ONE DAMN DIME DAY
Since our religious leaders will not speak out against the war in Iraq, since our political leaders don't have the moral courage to oppose it, Inauguration Day, Thursday, January 20th, 2005 is "Not One Damn Dime Day" in America.
On "Not One Damn Dime Day" those who oppose what is happening in our name in Iraq can speak up with a 24-hour national boycott of all forms of consumer spending.
During "Not One Damn Dime Day" please don't spend money. Not one damn dime for gasoline. Not one damn dime for necessities or for impulse purchases.
Not one damn dime for anything for 24 hours.
On "Not One Damn Dime Day," please boycott Walmart, KMart and Target. Please don't go to the mall or the local convenience store. Please don't buy any fast food (or any groceries at all for that matter).
For 24 hours, please do what you can to shut the retail economy down.
The object is simple. Remind the people in power that the war in Iraq is immoral and illegal; that they are responsible for starting it and that it is their responsibility to stop it.
"Not One Damn Dime Day" is to remind them, too, that they work for the people of the United States of America, not for the international corporations and K Street lobbyists who represent the corporations and funnel cash into American politics.
"Not One Damn Dime Day" is about supporting the troops. The politicians put the troops in harm's way. Now 1,200 brave young Americans and (some estimate) 100,000 Iraqis have died. The politicians owe our troops a plan -- a way to come home.
There's no rally to attend. No marching to do. No left or right wing agenda to rant about. On "Not One Damn Dime Day" you take action by doing nothing. You open your mouth by keeping your wallet closed.
For 24 hours, nothing gets spent, not one damn dime, to remind our religious leaders and our politicians of their moral responsibility to end the war in Iraq and give America back to the people.

You have no idea how hard it was to type that without puking. "Appointed by God." Well, buddy, the God I believe would not appoint that Bozo to the office of dogcatcher, let alone president. |

Maybe when he spoke of 'beyond the stars', he really was talking about aliens, or beyond the stars has something to do with Hollywood? Hmm? Either way he needs to fall out. |

Here's some food for thought. The day after the election, my mother was on a bus. A guy stood up and asked, "Who here voted for Bush?" Not one single hand went up. "Then HOW?" He asked, completely frustrated,"How did this HAPPEN?" My mother answered him. "Because the people who voted for Bush don't ride busses." |

Okay. You've got me. I'm really a BSA operative on an undergarment mission. You're all under surveillance, so watch it. Don't try and hide, cuz we can see your epidermis. |

What's to be afraid of? I said he needs to fall out, I didn't say I'm going to cause this to happen. I'm not that dumb. What are they going to do? Come and detain me for questioning? That's funny in it's own little way. Alphabet agencies are not to be feared in any way, that only helps them to hold more power by instilling fear in people which will prevent unwanted funtime, which the funtime is of course ours. |

Why are the Rats deserting GWB? C'mon- say it with me: Because... "GWB Eats Dead Rats". Cripes- they're bolting before he stomps 'em and chomps 'em. Like GWB, it's a no-brainer. |

Watch the website? Probably. I did say controlling the media is another requirement for a repressive government. I expect to get some fallout over publishing articles against Bush. Whether or not I get arrested is something we'll have to see. My family is ok with it since we have a family precedent (Susan B. Anthony got arrested for voting). The way I look at it is social security will not exist by the time I need it. The prison system will. So..... three meals a day, medical care, lodging.... |

No, I told you it wouldn't do anything, well, not you, per say, but that is what I said before. It was definitely worth a try though. Mass consumerism is our way. You can't stop it now that it's begun. This is the land of the super-sizers. Buy! Buy! Buy! Consume! Comsume! Consume! WEEEEEEE!!!......I hate America. Did you hear that CIA, NSA, NBA, whichever one of you agencys that get your names from playing with your Alphabets breakfast cereal. |

Well, I don't hate America, but I hate what the rabid republican/religious right is trying to turn America into. Comments I heard after the election that were really disturbing:
"I voted for Bush because he's a CHRISTIAN." Hmmmm. And John Kerry is a Buddhist, I suppose?
"I really don't understand why we have to have separation of church and state, anyway."
Oh? Well, then let me ask you this, if we are going to blend church and state, which church, which denomination of which church, and who gets to decide? If you think a theocracy is such a great idea, ask the people of Iraq. I'm sure they'll tell you what a great idea it is to have your church as your government. |

Well, actually, the Baathist regime under Saddam was relatively secular, although Saddam, like GWB, didn't hesitate to invoke Allah/God when it suited his needs. |

Nick, I think we are pretty much on the same page! Loved those. You may have heard this, but it's worth repeating -- I've told it to anyone who will listen.
GWB is in England, visiting the Queen. They have a moment to talk quietly over tea, and he asks, "How do you know that the people you have surrounded yourself with, the people who advise and influence you and help you make the hard decisions, how do you know they are good, wise people?"
Without batting an eye, the Queen answers, "That's simple, George, you ask them an intelligent riddle. If they answer correctly, you know that they are going to do a great job. Here, I'll show you." She then calls Tony Blair into the room and asks him this riddle:
"Your parents have a child. It is not your brother. It is not your sister. Who is it?"
Without hesitating for an instant, TB answers, "Why, that's simple! It's me!"
Hmmmmmmm. GWB goes back to Washington, and calls Dick Cheney into the oval office. "Hey buddy, got a riddle for you," he says. He asks DC the above riddle. DC breaks out into a cold sweat, his eyes start rotating in opposite directions.
Finally, he says, "Ummmmmmmmmm...Let me do a little research, sir, and I'll get right back to on that."
He heads over to the Senate, and walks into the men's room, where he notices John Kerry's shoes under a stall door. "Hey John!" he says, "Got a riddle for you." As soon as DC asks him, John Kerry answers without hesitation, "Why, that's simple! It's me!"
DC runs back over to the oval office as fast as he can, well OK, he walk really fast, and says, "Mr. President! I have the anwer! It's John Kerry!"
GWB jumps up from his desk and screams, "No, No, No! You idiot! It's Tony Blair!" |

Ellen Anthony, that was great. I will help you to turn that into a thing. I am going to say that wherever I go now, if you don't mind, that is. Warning: What follows is an offensive sexually-themed, Bush-bashing, bad-taste joke. If you are sensitive to such things, then go to the doctore and have that stick pulled out of your rear. Okay, here we go: "George W. Bush goes into the Men's room during one of his coronation parties, and sidles up to the urinal to drain the lizard. He turns, and, to his left, also wizzing away, is OJ Simpson. Unable to help himself, GWB steals a glance at OJ's manhood, and exclaims aloud: 'Good Lord, OJ! That's a monster! What's you secret'? OJ responds: 'We4ll, GeeDub, every night before I go to sleep I go to the posts at the foot of my bed, and bang my member a couple of times against each post. It lengthens and strengthens. You should try it, Tiny". "I will!", squeals Bush, who can barely contain himself. Feeling self-concious about his plan when he and Laura get home, GW waits until after Laura had gone to sleep to try out his new plot. Sneaking into the bedroom, GW creeps up to the bed where the sleeping Laura awaits. GW pulls out his tiny tool, and proceeds to smack his measly member against the bedpost. Laura then rubs her eyes, and calls out: "Is that you, OJ"? |

Rex, glad you liked it. I hope we can make it come true. When I read THE HANDMAID'S TALE, I thought this situation could NEVER come up in the US. Our government could never be taken over by religious fundamentalists to the point that we'd surrender our basic liberties. Now I'm not so sure. There are so many sheep out there that are blindly following our glorious leader. And he keeps playing the fear card. Do you really fear a terrorist attack today, tomorrow? I fear unemployment myself. |

Yeah, that whole "don't spend a dime boycott" thing on Jan 20, 2005 really made an impact! I thought the whole world was going to end for a while. I hear that the only reason we haven't seen a complete overthrow of our Government is because those in charge are still shocked by the power of chain e-mails and those that promote them as good ideas. No doubt, when the numbness wears off all the conservatives on Capitol Hill will either commit suicide or flee to foreign countries to escape the impending punishment for their crime of disagreeing with the left. |

Gotta question. Few days ago, I hit the ABC news site and there were three intros, two of which mentioned the FBI.
The first one described how a combined team of local police, DEA and FBI agents arrested a guy selling pot. Local, small fish type.
Next one described how the FBI was unable to investigate how their security system had been compromised because of a lack of agents.
Reason I'm known as Ol' Tard is because I'm an old tard so can somebody help me out here? Is it my tardism or do you non-tards think the FBone could use a little reprioritizing in its mission statement language and actions? |

The problem with all these demonstrations is a number of businesses have exposed the fact that they hire illegals. The government can now move against those busineses.
Think it won't happen? Bush tried to get illegals to register with his guest worker program, but they didn't bite. Now they might have given themselves away. Unfortunately, the point the immigrants have made holds. Our labor force depends on new immigrants. The problem is we need to persuade them to become citizens. |
