Sandeep Acharya's Converter: Comments (most recent posts first) Surely the crucial question for all such propoed machines is: Has it been built? Does it work? Is there any independent confirmatory evidence? [Sorry, that's three questions!] Q4: What are the urls to find out more about this machine? F Podmore, Dept of Physics, University of Zimbabwe Thursday, October 09, 2003 at 09:54:42 I thought of the magnetic wheel a long time ago. Perhaps it would work better if you lay each wheel in a position so the pull of the earth is least. Chester Rex Brown Thursday, October 09, 2003 at 02:04:45 Magnets don't last forever. And there's friction between the gears and the shafts. Thursday, July 10, 2003 at 20:45:13 This has been tried with so many magnets and so many gear ratios that even Tesla stopped considering the possibility before he came to America. There's no way to overcome all of the sources of friction -- even if you put it in a vacuum to eliminate friction with the air. Grease it, use titanium bearings, use gem bearings, use diamond and gem bearings swathed in grease -- it won't work. Tuesday, July 08, 2003 at 14:36:50 If I try to think this one out, my mind starts to ache. So I'll just go by my intuition and say it wont fly. I do wonder about one thing: will it stall all by itself, or will it grind down when trying to crank round the dynamo? Saturday, July 05, 2003 at 17:58:00 |
