Sewer Horse
Status: Undetermined
The latest internet meme is Sewer Horse: "Sewer Horse is Watching You"

I have no explanation for the image. Is it real or fake? I haven't got a clue. It seems a bit unlikely that a horse would end up in a sewer, but then he could be in a large underground tunnel that has an opening he's looking out of. Sewer Horse is so popular that he even has his own website.

More from the Hoax Museum Archives:
What strikes me is how unlikely it is that none of the people in the background are looking at a HORSE STICKING HIS HEAD OUT OF A HOLE IN THE GROUND.

I vote for "fake."

At the risk of stating the bleeding obvious: Sewer Horse is presumably the opposite of Ceiling Cat, if that's the kind of explanation you're looking for.

But Basement cat is the opposite of ceiling cat!

Maybe sewer horse is one of his minions?

OMG, it's easy to see that it's wrong, as that is obviously not a "Sewer" Horse... It's a StormDrain Horse...duh

Alex, I agree. The horse probably entered a large storm drain or other tunnel and it happens so often that the kids aren't even interested.

Oh Great Ceiling Cat!
I hope that horse is in a tunnel!!
PS Ceiling Cat sees everything!

Basement Cat is the opposite of Ceiling Cat. The two of them also manifest themselves as the avatars tacgnol and longcat.

Sewer Horse is a neutral third-party from the Far East, unrelated to the white/black good/evil ceiling/basement manicheism of the cats (as pointed above, horses are traditionally associated with Mongolian Chinese armies; while cats are Egyptian, thus middle-eastern and dualist).

What bothers me is that those children have a hole in their playground deep enough to hold a horse. This is dangerous. What's more, the horse must be uncomfortable because its neck must be severely bent to fit under that deep concrete edge of the hole. Or - wait! could it be photoshopped?

Best guess - I'd have to say the photo was cut/pasted, prolly starting at the area where the consistency of the dirt changes from just dirt to dirt and rocks. The odds that a bunch of young kids would ignore a horse in the ground (duh!) aren't awfully good. Pretty fair job, though.

this pic is fake, but if you go to the website, the second picture is legit. a draft horse fell into the hole. they eventually got him out n he was alright.

Well I personally don't understand what is so fascinating about this picture it's just a horse sticking his head out of a hole. And it's obviously been photo-shopped into this picture or any other picture. And why is the horse considered evil? I don't understand how people can be fascinated with something so silly. What has our world gone to?

Certain tornado prone areas have underground tunnels for livestock.

This could be one of them.
