Updates from the War Against Terror

Here are a couple of news reports that are deeply disturbing on many different levels. First, a story from Macedonia where the police have admitted that seven Pakistani 'terrorists' they gunned down two years weren't terrorists at all. The seven men were actually completely innocent would-be immigrants who were lured to Macedonia with the promise of being granted access to Western Europe. The Macedonian police then killed them and created a phony story about how they were terrorists in order to win US support. Next, there were those photos of Iraqi prisoners being tortured by US soldiers that recently surfaced, prompting President Bush to remark how disgusted he was by what he saw. I haven't heard anything to indicate that those pictures were fake, but British authorities are questioning the authenticity of similar pictures that became public a day or two later showing British troops engaged in similar activities. The British government is noting that the prisoners in those pictures appear too clean and too unharmed, and the soldiers appear to be wearing incorrect uniforms.

Those photos of torture in Iraq are frauds without a doubt. The problem is that those troops in Iraq are going to have some big problems (health, employment, etc.) when they return to the U.S. Those photos were probably ordered taken by some higher up so that later the officials can have an excuse to ignore any complaints and claims that might be issued against the Government. The Mai Lai incident was also a setup done to discredit the troops that had served in Vietnam. The U.S. Government is not new to this sort of fraud. It saves them lots of responsibility for problems that the officials in Washington have created. There was no help for the Vietnam Vets by the Government, and likewise, the Gulf Vets will get no help. Bet the homestead on that. You've got to have a fall guy for a bad idea, and the easiest chums are the soldiers.

Fake or not, does a couple of idiots in the military mean that we should let murderous, internation law-breaking, terrorist supporting dictators run free and clear? If they are fake, it's just more lying from the anti-usa groups that want to make it seem like they are USA approved ways to treat prisoners. Ignoring, of course, all of the crimes against humanity engaged in the name of Terrorism.

Funny, First ugly stories of Viet Nam, Then rumors of the draft. Comparisons to Viet Nam.
Now American atrosities.
Isn't this just alittle too easy?

Given that if it were true those soldiers should pay dearly. There is a big difference what happens in the heat of battle and guarding detainees.

I just dont buy it.

No, but I don't see the military removing Bush from power anytime soon.

Yeah... the pictures are fake, and so is this military report detailing the circumstances under which the fake photos would have been taken and refering to said photos.

The Brittish photos were already proven wrong, One of the photos used an actual photo of a soldier and the Soldier Identified himself. He said He at no time ever did such a thing nor did he contact any media about anything.
