The Great Internet UFO Hoax

The other day I was trying to tell Erik (my hubby) about something on here.

I started with 'a friend of mine', realised, changed it to 'on my hoax group', realised and had to change it to "somebody on the hoax forum posted....".

I have friends in RL, really I do.

March 19th is my birthday! I can't wait to tell my grand-kids about the great hoax of '05 that took place on my 35th birthday.

Let me see if I get this straight; a website dedicated to discrediting hoaxes is taking part in one? Or is it just the webmaster who is taking part and plans to later debunk the hoax he took part in? Or is it an advance debunking of a hoax that is scheduled to occur on March 19, 2005? Or did JR shoot himself?

All I do is report what I see. I saw this site arranging a ufo hoax, and so I reported it. But they want everyone to keep mum about it because, you know, it would be no good letting word of it slip out by doing something like posting it on the internet. So I'm just playing along.

They're so stupid. Keep somthing secret by putting it on the internet.......... Either that or there's several layers of irony that I can't quite understand.

Or how about this Chris. A website dedicated to discrediting hoaxes is "reporting on a planned hoax?" Didn't that ever cross the mind? Have your sister Allegra explain it to ya?

BAD, BAD idea, guys. The forum that cooked up this particular forum (I'm merely a visitor here--the forum linked here because you have their news) has known to be particularly . . . hostile . . . to people that mess with them, up to and including finding their home address and going from there.

I'm not saying that anything's going to happen to this site, but two websites and an individual associated with the initial spreading of this information have already been seriously messed up, and they might be looking for more. You might be on a queue.

I'm sorry, Good Citizen of LL, I think a reasonable person might read that as a threat. I'm pretty sure a Judge would. You know, threatening a person with bodily harm or threatening to damage a persons private property are both against the law.

I am well aware of the fact--so I didn't threaten you or anyone else, which coincidentally works well with my intentions not to mess with anyone (funny world).

I'm just giving you a heads-up that there are people who probably will.

Who is this "individual" and how was he "seriously messed up"? Do you have a newspaper story to link to?

You seem to have some intimate knowledge of this group and their activities. How would that be? Are you a member?

If you're really concerned about Alex's safety, and not making poorly veiled threats, you should go to the authorities with this inside knowledge. I'm sure they would like your help in bringing this group to justice. They did commit a crime, if you're to be believed. Can you be believed?

And guess what, in spite of the fact that you say you're not making a threat, the tone of your initial post is threatening, and a judge would agree if it were discovered that you were a member of this group. Funny world

yow... for the last five minutes, I've tried to see some pattern in the punKtuation gibberish posted by LUMEcat, looking for a sailboat or some secret image. Nothing, nada, nathan. Sad

Here's a good example. You know that bitchy lady who sued 2 girls over recieving cookies? Did you read the follow-up where she ended up recieving 2 small truckloads of boxes? That was us.

The deal is, LUE made up this hoax. Rather, LL did. And someone else (who we have already dealt with) leaked it. Following that, everyone seems to think that he, and the site he posted it to, made it up.

SUMMARY: Negative Zero did nothing but steal our idea...

Also, get the details right. You probably got this from a source that has stolen the credit from LUElinks. LUElinks is an internet message board/community than has formed off of LUE, a message board on gamefaqs.com. I can't reveal a lot about it, because if you aren't a member now, you never can be, and it's useless to explain.

There are a few problems here. Not that I want to spoil anyone's fun, but the hoax had already been leaked and seen by THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE before I even posted anything about it. And by now tens of thousands of people know about it. So it's a little too late to try to keep it a secret.

Also, I can't figure out what these LUE people want. Credit for the failed hoax? or the removal of any mention of the hoax? You can't have both at once. But then again, these are the people who tried to pull off a secret hoax by posting about it on the internet... so maybe they're a little logic challenged.

The damn thing was thought up on LUELinks.
Stupid narcs leaking information and getting other people credit for our shit.
And do you know how annoying getting about 10,000 boxes would be? (By the way, it costs absolutely nothing to send them.)

Since people already know about the damn thing, credit. And LUELinks is a place that not just anyone can view, only the 8000+ people signed up currently can view it. You need a LUEable account on GameFAQs to sign up, and you cannot get one of those anymore. In fact, the only way to actually see anything on there without a narc would be to hack the site. Good luck with doing that.

All we want is credit for the hoax, we're the ones that came up with this idea, not Negative Zero or whatever it is. Credit where credit is due, please.

actually you are close the US postal service, Fedex and some other companys will send you free boxes, what Luelinks.net will do is fill in the persons contact information on who they want to send the boxes and bam there you go mucho boxes.

really stupid if you ask me, but LUE is known for its stupidity, but of course they are also at war with another Site( http://www.lue2.com ) because they see the site as too inferior to hold the "LUE" name, oh well they want retribution for the narcing of it (stupid if you ask me but whatever)
