Here's a link to some video footage of an accident with a photocopier. I don't have any details about where this footage was taken, or if it's real. Although it looks staged to me.
Hahahaha! Classic! The guy looks so pleased with himself then... SNAP!
I don't care if it's real or staged, that's pretty funny.

It is staged; security cameras don't have sound.

Actually, I don't see the link. I was responding because I've seen the movie before.

Citizen Premier:"It is staged; security cameras don't have sound."
Good point. Speaking of which, it makes me think of police chases in TV shows like COPS when we hear car tires screeching from helicopter footage. I do realize they add dubbing to make it sound more incredible, but it's still an insult to our intelect.
Posted by bs on Mon Jun 06, 2005 at 05:37 AM
Most security camera's don't have sound built in, however, some do and also it is not uncommon for the sound and video device to be tied in at the DVR.
I am not saying this is the case with this video I am just saying I don't believe this can be ruled a hoax simply because there is audio.
IMHO is is staged though.

i think if this happened to me id say slightly more than just 'ouch...ow'
Why is this named "netscapead" and being hosted on ads.ign.com? Was it renamed and this is just a coincidence?

I think this estupido gordo is too funny... I am glad he did not do this thing with the old mimeograph machine, with the big rolling barrel to print...I like those machines...I like the smell of the fresh mimeograph copies, as in the officinas at la escuela, you know...I makes me remember the beauty of Miss Brescia, my segundo grade teacher... but, I think, it was Raoul who did the teaching, no? Okay, so don't get me started, you know? ha ha ha... Raoul
Posted by Raoul on Mon Jun 06, 2005 at 09:20 AM
Well even if the camera did have sound, I doubt it would have this great sound quality. It seems staged to me, especially because of the good quality and sudden setup.
Posted by Archibold on Mon Jun 06, 2005 at 03:06 PM
This looks like a Mad TV bit to me, but I can't verify that it is.
Posted by Bob on Mon Jun 06, 2005 at 03:47 PM
Staged...look at him mugging as he takes his seat.
Posted by Urusai on Mon Jun 06, 2005 at 04:39 PM
If it is Mad TV, then it is a bad ripoff of the SNL Assjet 790 Printer "commercial"
Posted by alteregogi on Mon Jun 06, 2005 at 05:54 PM
It looks like Horatio Sanz, from SNL.

Security cameras don't have sound?
You're so in the dark ages. Our external system has sound and is infrared to boot. So don't bother sneaking around in the dark, and if you feel you must discuss something with an accomplice, umm... you might be on the next edition of COPS.
Posted by martinelli on Mon Jun 06, 2005 at 08:18 PM
Some Security Cameras do have sound, our home security system has them and IR leds for night vision. However I doubt it would be that good quality.

where is the link? i want to see the movie!
Posted by Razzle Berry on Tue Jun 07, 2005 at 05:16 AM
Looks like a total set up, but still funny. If anyone's seen the Pantera Home Video "3 - Watch It Go", you can see someone actually doing that. He jumps up on the photocopier, and the glass shatters. Then, comes the fun footage of glass being removed from... you know. 😊
Posted by Chuva on Tue Jun 07, 2005 at 08:03 AM
I had a boss who actually DID THIS.
We came into work one morning and the glass was broken.
He tried to claim that he put a heavy box on the copier and it broke by accident.
Finally, when no one would belive him, he fessed up.
No big cuts, just a few scratches 'cause he jumped off when it started to crack.
Posted by Gee... on Tue Jun 07, 2005 at 09:18 AM
Him getting out of the broken copy machine or screaming for help would have been even funnier. How come we don't have video of that?
Posted by edrioasteroid on Tue Jun 07, 2005 at 09:47 PM
Security cameras can have audio, mine do...in addition, I know a copier service man and according to him, this type of damage to copier glass is quite common.
Quite funny and looked candid to me.

Ummm....where is the link?? I couldn't find it yesterday, and it still isn't obvious today. Does anyone have it???

What, other than where it says 'video footage' in blue on the original post?
Posted by Boo on Wed Jun 08, 2005 at 07:01 AM
This showed up on videodetective.com, as an ad, with a link to netscpae to download Netscape 8. You know, those interstital ads they play before the video you actually want? I think it's clearly an ad by Netscape, although how it connects to Netscape 8 I don't know.
I hear Netscape 8 rocks, and maybe they figure they don't have to do anything other than mention the thing and we'll all flock over to download it.

It reminds me of those horrid Vonage commercials - you know, where they have an "accident" like felling a tree onto a car, or a photographer falling into a fountain. They seem awfully staged to me.

One day, when I was MUCH younger and in college, I took dozens of these type of rump copies. Some friends and I had a contest to see who could tape them the highest in main hall. We'd get a running start, and just before smashing into the wall, jump. Of course it took a few leaps to get the timing right...

"What, other than where it says 'video footage' in blue on the original post?" - Boo
Boo, for whatever reason my browser isn't showing the words "video footage" (or even the word "video" for that matter) in blue, nor does it come up with the little hand when I pass over any of the text or the picture. That's why I asked for somebody to repost the link. Obviously I'm missing something here, was the original link in the Hoax Forum or something??
Posted by Another Person Who Would Like to See the Video on Fri Jun 10, 2005 at 05:44 AM
I watched it...it totally looks fake. PLAUSIBLE, but the setup itself is fake.
Posted by Maegan on Sun Jun 12, 2005 at 01:09 PM
Fake. Cute, though.

It is staged this is a cut down version for a copier company talking about their warrenty they say our warrenty is so good that we don't care how you break it will fix it.

Actually some do, but that doesn't mean the video is real. I think it's fake.
