Outbreak of Zombie Virus

I remember another fake CNN website with a sombie breakout, you click on a link, you get an error page, but when you move your mouse over the error page, some freaky face appears.

Actually the article had a more believable picture to begin with. It was a quasi blurry picture of androgynous third world soldiers walking through some beat up streets and such with a caption reading something around the lines of, "Cambodian troops move into that random town's name". The dog thing picture just cuts from the believability that freaked out my coworkers. That was a fun day...

My friend got me with that, I thought it was a backup BBC server but then I started trying to go back and look for it in the BBC archives, then I looked at the url, I tried to go back and look deeper into the archives. Then I saw the date and knew it was a prank. The picture was good but I wish it was bigger. If anyone knows where I can get one thats 1024x768 tell me.

I saw this article in Maxim, it was one of those "one out of these 3 articles is fake" and the other two had midgets getting massacre by a lion and a powerful gun that uses exploding ammunition to blow apart walls and things of that nature.

i havent been around for too long, hell only 18 now, but ive always been interested in Zombies...
i do think i can bring them back, im not sure if the virus is complete though.
i could be wrong, but i must try, and the only way to tramsmit that i know of is human to human, not animal to human, or animal to animal.

Completely idiotic. Either this is a giagantic cover-up or the article's information is bad.
First, the Solanum Virus is only transmutable through bodily fluids and a mosquito would have died shortly after biting an infected human.
Second, the lifespan of a zombie is around 11 years. Not the two hours this article states.
While it does have some plausiblity as a cover-up, the information is wrong.

If zombies attacked I'd leave the USA as soon as possible because of the population and the fact that USA warfare might make undead stronger because they need marksman to blow off the heads and not tanks or artillery to just blow off zombie limbs or legs and make them harder to see.

I also hope there is an outbreak. Because I am sick and tired of people who get away with shit and stick there noses high above the ground thinking they are above everyone else. If there was an outbreak, it would force people to get there feet back on the ground and it will show everyone who is truly fit to survive. I have been preparing for any kind of event where humanity will be tested. From economic breakdowns to a global virus infection. But no matter how much one can prepare his or herself, it all comes down to common sense. Where only 1/8th of the worlds population can claim to have any. So bring it on!!!!

The Rage virus in 28 days later is partialy based on Rabies. And in case you didnt know, Rabies is very real, and can be caught by humans. So personaly, I dont find somthing like this to be so over the top. Though I know this a hoax, duh. Oh and Solanum is the virus featured in Max Brooks zombie books, the Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z, so the guy who mentioned it wasnt actualy being serious. Do you walk around with thousands of rounds, medical supplies, rations, water, etc, etc? Or is that all safetly locked up in your home or shed or wahtever? Learn how to fliter water, cant expect that the water treatment plants and electricaly will last if a suppose invansion happens. Or that gas tanks will contiune to be filled up so you can drive to these safe areas. Give it up, "They," are not that smart, they do not have all the secrets in a folder in a cabinet somewhere just waiting for some ass to find it. THEY are not supper scientist creating such virsus and have UFO's all lined up in some damn warehouse underground.

my brother called me on he phone yesterday, and held the phone to the radio. it was an article about zombies. real zombies. his mom listens to nothing but NPR.
also, scientists have done research and have re-animated the dead. and they have found a virus and a parasite that creates zombies. they also linked the N1H1 (swine flu) virus to the Z-Virus.
You also have to realize that there has been evidence of zombie-ism in history and religion. also realize that almost everything in story books exists or has existed in the past. where else would we have all these stories, but human experience?
I fully believe that tis is the way the human population will be wiped out. my dad and i already have plans on how to barricade and escape from out house, and he has stared a stockpile of food. You have to prepare for it, or you'll become a zombie, too. before its your time, at least.

BBC news, is actually a large news network. do your homework, before you slander. anyone of you can go into any search engine, type in BBC news. after you see the website (first thing that pops on google), you go search african sleeping sickness. they have pages of news articles about this parasite. want to make it simple. type in "african sleeping sickness zombie" and the same news article pops up. Still not convinced. look up medical refrences on african sleeping sickness. Every symtom classifies urban belief of the zombie virus, including: fevers, irritability, malaise, aching muscles, joint problems, skin eruptions, progressive confussion, extreme personality changes (patients may act violent), slurred speech, siezures, difficulty with walking and moving.

I have always played around with the idea of a zombie outbreak and have used it in many of my short stories, but i doubt there will ever be a 'natural' occurence for a zombie virus. The virus would have to be manufactured useing nano-technology or something thereof. However, an existig virus such as Ebola or Rabies could mutate, but very unlikely to such an extent that it would drive the subject to feed ravenously on the flesh of humans.

Nevertheless, it is a very good medium for many horror films and stories.
On an end note, The Zombie Survival Guide, for all of you true belivers, is in fact a magnificently constructed work of fiction.
The recorded attacks are all fictional and are quite interesting to read.
