Mouse in Beans

Here's something else to add to my page of gross things found in food:
LEHI, Utah (AP) -- An Arkansas company is offering $100 to a Utah woman who found a severed mouse head in a can of green beans if she pledges not to take legal action, but she's not biting. The letter from Allens Inc. of Siloam Springs, Ark., describes it as a "gesture of goodwill." Marianne Watson isn't interested.
Apparently she doesn't want money. Or so she says. Instead she wants the company to recall all cans of its green beans. I don't think that's going to happen.

Oh, I love green beans. Not canned, of course -- fresh in season, frozen out of season. Canned green beans are just mushy green cylinders, tasting of almost nothing except salt.

Either way, I prefer them sans rodent parts.

I live in the area all Allen's are pretty seedy anyway. I'm not surprised at that news. The owner doesn't care about anything except for squeezing the last cent out of everyone that goes in there.

Oops. Thought it meant Allen's stores in the area looks like she bought it at Wal-Mart. Never mind.

Even so, neither Allen's nor Wal-Mart can their own food, I am pretty sure.
