The Dream Machine

The Dream Machine, from Takara USA, "is designed to stimulate the user at the appropriate times during REM sleep to increase the likelihood of dreaming a particular desired dream." It involves incense, soothing background music, and a pre-recorded statement repeated over and over in your ear as you sleep. My guess is that it works about as well as cramming for a test by sleeping on a textbook would work.

The reason this works is the pre-recorded statement played continuosley is meant to be heard subconciousley while you sleep.

In your dream, you should hear this statement in your dream, then you'll realise your dreaming and have what is called a lucid dream.

It does work, I've actually tried something like this before...a product from

Yeah McGuiness I heard about Lucid Dreams. If you know you're dreaming during a dream enough times, you can actually learn to control your dreams!

I've had dreams where I knew I was dreaming and I could definitly control myself during the dream. The thing was, I still can't control other people in my dreams. It's still fun though because I can do things I wouldn't usually do just because I know that I'm dreaming and it won't matter anyways. It more fun anyways when I can't control other people because there is still an element of surprise.

This opens up a puzzling question: If you are controlling your dream, and you can control yourself and not other people, how does your brain know how the people will react to you? You'd think that your brain would be applying what you know of that person to fill in their personality, but then wouldn't you know how'd they react before you did anything?

I've been able to control other people in my dreams, I had a dream where a hitman was after me and I made him go to jail, for some reason I visited him in jail (which looked like my front yard with lots of flower gardens, I don't know why) anyways, you can have a certain amount of control in your dreams, if you try hard enough.

Many times though I dream about people that I don't actually know. Therefore, I guess my mind is making it up. I can kind of guess what they will do, but that's not exactly how they act, even with my friends. It's really weird. Usually when I'm having this sort of dream, I can exert more control over it and control the people too, but I choose not to for 2 reasons: 1) then it's no longer fun 2) it makes me wake up if I try to control to much. So therefore, I just stick to controling myself. It's rather fun, even when it's a little scary, because I know it's fake. It's kind of like watching a movie, except that I'm in it.

Haha you guys are funny, you can have so much control in your dream that you can do whatever you want. Fly, create your own world/universes, jump from roof to roof like in the Matrix.. whatever you want, might take a little practice and beleiving that you can do it before it happens..

your right you can control your dreams i have been doing it for years. I used to have nightmares but as soon as i realised that i was dreaming i turned all the nasty bits into fun bits and ever since its been easy to do. I even fly a blue helicopter in my dreams now, not too high though just in case i have to make a crash landing...hehehe
I have reoccuring dreams too I seem to go back to the same place and have met some real cool people. Stranger than fictions isnt it?

ok so this is all well and good but how to master the technique i want to do this and have done it b4 but it seems weird. also what if we all share one mind like a chat room then you have diffent servers or channels in the chatroom so each dream is like a channel so in retrospect u are actually visiting ur friend or whoever. weird huh

Wouldn't it be great if we could entertwine dreams - so lots of people could have the same, connected dream? - Like the chatroom idea that bobby said about. Arent dreams the greatest? it makes going to sleep worthwhile, more exciting! 😊
