Did college students fool President Bush into giving the Shocker?

Here's the claim, with accompanying picture:

ASU Track Team Convinces George W. Bush to Give the Shocker. For those of you who don't know what The Shocker is, Wikipedia explains:

The shocker is a hand gesture with a sexual connotation. The ring finger and thumb are curled or bent down while the other fingers are extended. The index and middle fingers are kept together (touching) and the back of the hand faces outwards (away from the gesturer). The gesture refers to the act of inserting the index and middle fingers into a vagina and the little finger into the unwitting anus, hence the "shock". Because of its explicit sexual connotation, the shocker is sometimes considered vulgar. Occasionally, the thumb may be positioned so that it may stimulate the clitoris. Mnemonic rhymes are used in order to remember its meaning, including "two in the pink, one in the stink."

True? I don't think so. Yes, there is a hand gesture known as the Shocker. And yes, that's Bush with the ASU Track Team displaying a gesture that resembles the shocker. But everyone (well, almost everyone) in the picture has their index and middle finger spaced apart, which makes the gesture "the pitchfork," which is the sign of the ASU Sun Devils.

That's the special "G-spot stimulation" version.

I don't get how that gesture resembles a pitchfork. A pitchfork doesn't have three of four tines pointing up, with tine number three pointing down.

Wouldn't it look more like a pitchfork if they held three or four fingers up together?

I can't figure out how to paste a picture into the comments, but if you'll follow this link, you'll see what I mean.
A pitchfork has three, four, or five tines, and in every case the tines are all parallel to each other. In no case do three tines point up while the other two point toward each other and touch.
I don't know what sign those ASU fans are making, but it sure isn't a pitchfork.

BUT wouldn't the mascot know how to make their "sign" hes making the sign with knuckles facing towards him while Bush and everyone in the other pic is making the sign with knuckles out ass done in the shocker

The problem with holding three fingers up together, with say the thumb holding the pinky down is that you look like a boy/girl Scout. And funnily enough, four fingers held up with the thumb across the palm looks like you're doing that "I just cut my thumb off!" trick.
I did wonder if they were originally holding up four spread fingers and someone digitally (pun intended) removed their ring fingers to produce a "shocker".

Ah, the baffling world of hand gestures...

Well, they are from ASU. I think that explains pretty much everything.

(ASU sucks)

I think the gesture denotes a three-pronged pitchfork, catching the sun (ringfinger-thumb) or a four-pronged pitchfork catching the sun on the third tine, but the mascot "Sparky the Sun Devil" is equipped with a three-pronged fork.
BTW I have somewhere read that a "sun devil" is what is usually called a "sun dog" (parhelion) but couldn't confirm it.
