Britney Spears to play a killer lesbian stripper?

Back in January 2008 Variety published a rumor, citing unnamed sources, that Britney Spears had agreed to play a killer lesbian stripper in Quentin Tarantino's next movie, a remake of Russ Meyer's 1965 film Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!.

Seven months later, there's no indication this rumor is true. For instance, there's no listing of such a project on IMDB.

Nevertheless, the rumor is circulating again. It was reported recently in The Telegraph and on popcrunch. It appears that the January rumor is simply being reported again, with no attempt to check the facts.

Taken together with the recent rumor that Spears was to star in a (nonexistent) movie titled The Knoxville Carjacking Party, it seems that there's a deep unmet desire out there to see Spears starring in a slasher movie.

I'd say that Britney would have to go up at least 30 bra sizes before she'd qualify to be in a Russ Meyer movie.

Man, if I had the money, I'd hire Britney Spears and actually make these movies. After all, half your promotional work has already been done before a single frame has been shot.

Those rumors are false, Britney Spears never
got a script from Quinten Tarrentino

Ummm . . . Not sure of the Quentin connection, but there IS a remake of FASTER PUSSYCAT comign out taht looks interesting - But it's called BITCH SLAP and does not seem to have any mention of the undelightful Ms. Spears.

Some kind of promotion that went awry?

I agree, Big Gary, and I almost commented on that.

Speaking of IMDb, Quentin is now listed there as having it in production.

Speaking of IMDb again, it's listed there as not to come out until 2012. Do projects actually take THAT long? Unfortunately there are no details included beyond that, at least not for people like me too cheap to join their pay service.

Hoaxinghal, yes, movie projects can take as long as three years for feature films - Though indie projects are often quicker, that's pretty average for a film production ( Some take much longer, but that can be due to the delay people in the business call "Development Hell" ).

Having seen how well Lindsay Lohan held it together for MACHETE, or even Paris in the movie version of REPO:THE GENETIC OPERA I am not going to prejudge Brittany in anything.😊

As it's 2012, I tried checking again at IMDb for any news about its release. Not only is it still simply mentioned as a project in development but now it has even been (supposedly) pushed back to 2015. I am starting to lose faith in being able to see this thing.
