Before and After Makeup

It is amazing what can be done with makeup. Yes, it can be done in photoshop, but in this case I don't think so. I have done work in the modeling industry and it is amazing what can be done. In some of the worst cases, you use a heavy foundation that essentially levels the skin. The stuff is difficult to work with and is only good for still photos as any movement might cause cracks or wrinkles.

i believe there's been alot o' photoshop. at any rate, these women are pretty pretty.

Why is it that in the before pictures,they always have the hair pulled back and sticking out all over the place. give the before girls the nice hairdo, THEN take the before picture. after all, isnt it supposed to be about makeup?

because the worse they can make the 'before' picture look, the better the 'after' picture will seem 😊

the 5th picture is plain impossible she went from having wrinkles and pinmples and acne skaring to having a perfect face and tahts inpossibe even makeup can cover all that up!!

Can't believe some people actually think these pictures are real. Not only are they photoshopped, they are OVERLY photoshopped to the point where they look like paintings rather than photographs. The graphic (not makeup) artist did a good job at making these women pretty, but a very bad job at making the photos look like the work of real makeup. I'm surprised the website has the gall to put them up. (They would have made excellent samples for computer graphics training program, however.)

I guess when you do graphics editing yourself and have seen thousands of digital artworks, this is more apparent? *shrug* All I know is that if you only showed me the "after" #3, I would have said "Hey, thats a pretty realistic digital portrait!"

I really wanted to be beautiful. I know i'm not. I have been in 1 pagent, and, oh the make-up! I was young, 12 at the time, and, I didn't wear alot of make-up, my family didn't have alot of money to buy it.
Some of the plainest girl would come out beautiful. Everyone wantso be seen as beautiful as they really are, dispite their real appearence.
That's why i support this make-up using. Now, gilrs like me, can shine inside and out.

i dont think these women are necessarily ugly, but.... also i think number five is naturally pretty, she just has skin problems is all the rest of her is fine.

Lol. I just love how other women are really nice to everyone when they don't have their makeup on, then turn into self-absorbed catty people with their noses stuck in the air when they do have it on. Then they brag about how "beautiful" they are with their artificial looks. Talk about bragging about nothing.

It is true that makeup can't do everything, Keira Knightley always looks flawless at premieres and award ceremonies, but if you use High Definition tv and zoom in on her forehead, you can see her pimples.

Not only do I agree with the previous posters (maybe photoshop), but the before pictures seem to have the worst lighting possible, while the afters have the most flattering lightening possibles, it seems. I look fine, thank God, without make-up (I think that many people look better w/out), but I know that I look great in some lighting yet 10-15 years older in other...aaaah!

Anyone that can't see that nearly all of these CLEARLY use photoshop has never used photoshop before. Makeup may do wonders, but a number of them are blatantly retouched and airbrushed.

I do not believe these are photoshopped, have you ever watched a professional at work its amazing, I attened a conference for foundation, one of the best names in the industry did half a face in 2 hours, the face looked perfect not one flaw, contouring is amazing one of the models had her nose contoured another her chin, the one with the pot marks, if you look they are still there but well covered, and the shading helps incredibly, one woman had a pimple still there to you just really have to look, its an illusion everythings still there but after the makeu0p application and amazing lighting its hard to tell. People would really be amazed what lighting makeup and hair could do. DO you really think that celebrities really look like that?? What do you think happpens when they break out badly it gets covered up and you could almost not even tell anything is there.

also to the airbrishing comment, you can airbrush makeup on a person which also makes it flawless, so it could have been airbrushed in person not necisarily on photoshop....

i think makeup can do that, but pleas people should take it eazy on them selfs. thats toooooooooooooooo much make up, and isn't the real person . so what is the point.......

personally I really think these are semi-real pictures...touched up just a bit to take away hair line issues and other "flaws" you dont even need to use the latex paint or whatever. I am a make-up artist its all about using a highlighting foundation in all of the right places.. I learn the best from eve pearl. an amazing make-up artist.. a good way to conceal under eye circles is instead of using a light yellow colour under the eyes you use a salmon color conceler... it works wonders!
try highlighting the areas of your face where the light hits... of course this technique is very time consuming and requires more colours and varieties of makeup than the average girl has on hand. really it is pretty amazing what just a brush and powder and base make-up can do if you use it right... thats the key.

that is just so wrong... they look so much like normal people would and then they just look really pretty... basically it is saying that anyone can be a model.. it definetly makes you wonder what some of the hottest models look like

Yeah, these photos have definitely been photo-shopped. You can see choppy areas on the bottom of their jaws and their foreheads look smudged. But that's not to say airbrushing doesn't work wonders. The proof is simply in pictures of models and celebrities without their make-up on. Flawless skin doesn't exist on anyone (but babies) without make-up. Besides, every make-up artist will attest to their effectiveness. I've never heard one say anything bad about the effects they get from airbrushing.

Now, I must be honest.
I am not a make up artist, per se, but I do know as I study the art of it, thought not completed.
For things such as, they will use something called 'Full Coverage Foundation.'
IE; The thickest and most flawless foundation possible.
It will cover everything.
Not a problem. Skin color wise, if you don't change that of the neck and shoulders aswell then you will just look like you're wearing a mask. This will have used slight amounts of photoshop as after a procedure such as they don't want to spend much time photoshopping, therefore makeup will cover most of it.

As a photographer who has worked a lot with stuff like this, I think it is airbrushed makeup, the kind that is sprayed on. It's like magic and covers anything,even hideously huge pimples. Look at the angle differences with some of the gals. The photographer who did the after shots chose flattering angles to their nose/chins etc and also use lighting with hardly any shadow so any bumps or wrinkles wont show.

there all rank and fake. but good job with the makeup some people are just born ugly and need it.

Soooo much airbrushing.

These are completely real. The only thing that was done with Photoshop was smoothing the skin, which has a big effect. Plenty of celebrities have this type of makeup done to them. Two examples are Eva Longoria and Drew Barrymore. They look just like these women do without makeup, but once their makeup artist does exactly what was done in these photos, they look flawless.

Trust me, I know what I'm talking about.

who believe in the "natural" look should have their head examined, a good water-based make-up
followed by some face powder, makes you flawless

This is what I am talking about! Professional makeup can do wonders visually accomplishing almost surgery-like results.

Notice the teeth. Make-up doesn't make your teeth whiter, therefore I believe these photos to be photoshopped.

You can clearly see the pixel-damage done by photo-shop attempts in numbers 4-7. Especially with the woman suffering from acne and scarring. There are certian skin adhesives makeup artists use to lift the eyebrows or the jawline, but these are not used for bumps or indents in the face. These have been airbrushed because though makeup can cover color imperfections on the face, it is not a substitute for elasticity loss of the skin. If those pics were taken out in the sunlight, the skin's texture imperfections would clearly cast shadow on the face.

I think beside the makeup, they used photoshop to eliminate some unwanted details.

Very beautiful makeup. But the after pics are definitely retouched. I retouch makeover photos all the time so I know what they look like and what to look for to find out if they are retouched! But still the makeup is truly amazing and the thing about airbrush makeup is that you don't see the "speckled" foundation look so it gives a very fine, flawless finish!
