Ban On Anime

Well... frankly anime shouldn't be banned, but hentai should be. The later has no artistic merit, coming from someone who enjoys erotic artwork, and around 80% of it features non-consensual sex often ending in a snuff scenario (I.e. the woman is killed) or sex with minors and quite often a combination of the two. As something without artistic value, and without message that should be banned and not protected under freedom of speech, as the 'artist' doesn't mean to express anything. At least Nazis preach an ethos. Hentai just condones and inspires the inappropriate treatment of women.

Guys, I believe that the same rules that apply to the REAL porn industry should also apply to these cartoon porn.

Many hentai porn should underaged cartoons engaging in sexual behavior. This is wrong, disgusting and should be stopped. Who in their right mind would object to that?

I found anime porn on my boyfriends pc, I totally flipped. Now he is banned from watching anime unless i know what it is about and he doesn't go on the pc anymore, but that is due to him always being at my house and when he is at home he has a full house so he can't.
Anime porn is stupid. Only losers look at it, losers who can't get a girlfriend. Getting off on something that isn't even real is just sad.

I'm seriously about to think that people don't even pay attention to the saying, never judge a book by it's cover. People who have seen an anime with porn automatically thinks that all other anime are porn??? Do you see porn in Digimon or Sailor Moon or whatever? If your going to say that in Sailor Moon there are naked people going through transformations, what about in Disney cartoons, where people are taking a bath? Although I don't really care about the whole thing because stuff like this that happen online never come true anyways. This is just my opinion of the situation... Hi there, I am true fan of anime, the reason I liked anime in first place was because of cartoon called "Sailor Moon" I used to watch on TV, which is kid cartoon, I am now all growing up, and I have read more mature manga/anime these days. I do agree, some anime/manga are not safe, yes....

But I can tell u, there is one manga I want totally banned that is shota, I did bit of research on internet when I was young and I felt sick and ran in bathroom, when I spotted a pic of rini doing pervent thing. Rini is Sailor moon child daugther, u know "chibi moon", doing some thing with darien which is like child porn is so wrong, all I wanted was a cute nice pics like magical powers back then when I was young, I didn't understand it back then, but it did shocked me, but I just moved on by growing up, I still continue like anime, but I hate shota.

I only like, normal manga/anime these days, and I believe yaoi and yuri, can be sexual but not as bad as shota, plus most yaoi have mature reasonable thing in it, like business men who are age 30 and over are in comic based on love, all about relationship, which is nothing wrong with that. if people don't like sexualy part in the comic, then skip the pages or don't buy it, that what I do, I think people should respect the manga artist who put lots effort in create these mangas.

I believe who are not aware of manga/anime these days, should give a go, on watching safe, or awesome anime, like example "Spirited away", "Vampire Knight", "h20" and many more.

I like reading yaoi because, I only read love part and romance LOL, some time, it give me better understand why they turn gay in first place, and I love comedy parts or emotional parts too.

Yaoi is created for girls fan in Japan but the yaoi can be read for boys too. I think other culture should be open minded a bit more and try understand why Japanese manga artist created these style of books, there are many group of manga/anime these days, and I believe some people should be careful what manga/anime they pick.

I mean shota should be banned, no thx, that stuff make me sick, not normal, same goes for loicon, they are wrong, shame on them to even create that.

But I do support anime/manga for normal stuff, like shoujo/yaoi ^_^ and I love the horror manga too.

Manga/Anime do not take over people lives, sometime people just read manga for enjoyment.

To be honest Hentai can be bit overbored but I think it a boy comic for pleasure, to be honest I have boyfriend right now LOL and I read one his comic, I was shocked at first, I only tho he like anime becuase of hentai, but I found out that not true, it just boy comic.

I never Sign E-Mailed petitions, even if it is for a supposedly good cause (which this is not) for the simple reason that they really don't make any logical sense.
You have to realize once on person sends the list to say 10 people, only one name from each of those people will ba added to the end of the list and then split into how ever many e-mails as those other people send it too! This will simply continue untill each of the resulting chains reaches the supposed designated number (maybe several years after it would have been if it was a real petition), and then several hundred emails get sent to the final recipient, completely unsorted and unusable.

I must say, I find it HILARIOUS that people think signing a petition to ban anime will actually succeed in getting it banned. Last time I checked America was a free country and the people can watch what they please. And really, if they are going to make a petition they should be educated enough to distinguish between hentai and regular anime x.X

Okay, I am going to just voice my opinion. I completely agree with Tetellia, I think that "hentai" or whatever you would like to call is it disturbing and shouldn't be around. My boyfriend watches amine and is completely addicted to it. I try to ask him to stop so he does it when I'm not around. It puts strain on our relationship, but I believe that is just a personal matter. But I really don't know what else to do to try and make him stop. Thus, what brought me to this site was to find a way to stop him from watching, but honestly, what can I do? All I can do it just ask him to stop. If I could, I'd do what Tetellia did and ban my boyfriend from the computer, but I can't. If you don't like it, just stay away from it. Because the Freedom of Press and Freedom of Speech tie into it, everyone has a different opinion on everything.

Pretty much, anime isn't going to get banned, no matter how hard anyone tries. It hardly effects our daily lives. It just affects the few that read or watch anime or manga. You never see any of this on the news do you?

I dunno about you ashley, but I agree with itzel derat. Not all forms of anime should be blamed on pornographic anime AKA hentai, and seriously, maybe she wouldn't have called tetellia a control freak if tetellia had stated pornograhic anime instead of just anime. You could get confused by both terms, so don't expect itzel to just give her respect or even apologize anytime soon.
Besides that, you yourself aren't being very specific on what exactly your boyfriend is addicted to. I could easily call you a control freak as well, but I won't because obviously you can't really control something your boyfriend watches. So get over it, everyone has phases and wether or not you like it, you don't have to take it out on other people, especially those who stoutly defend something because of misinformation. If you really want to get your boyfriend off of whatever addiction he has, talking to him is good, and maybe on occasion watch ordinary anime so, I dunno, you could get closer to him than you already are. It became difficult to stop my boyfriend going on the computer, so i said to him, if he wanted to "get off" to DRAWINGS then he cant have anything to do with me, he sees now that anime porn isnt real and he can never b with the drawings he looks at, he knows that i am real and i offer a real loving relationship, something that drawings cannot give him. he no longer looks at anime porn and our relationship is better. he not longer sits in front of the computer, ignoring me to do the anime, and our relationship is going well.

What I truly hate about anime is the art style. I mean REALLY, big eyeballs, triangle-shaped noses, and lack of chin movement when someone opens their mouth wide? i agree with tetellia nut i think anime in general should be banned, my boyfriend wastes money on stupid anime poster scrolls from a-kons...and almost $300 swords from some lame anime show that he won't ever use! every anime movie he has in his closet are all girls with every detail on them like in the comics it will show non other than boobs..he claims that its funny but there is nothing funny about seeing a dumb anime thing naked and blushing as though she was SO surprised that some pervert peeped at her....and in some of the books he has it shows ..yes anime girls just standing there but a lot have their clothes falling off of them and yet again showing every detail of their body..I don't get it....i am not sure what my dumb boyfriend sees in something as stupid as anime..i am always wondering "how does he not jack off to this crap" i told him to stop watching anime but it is SUCH a hobby to him that i was forced to flip all the books around so i can only see the pages of the comics and not the lame covers since i can't hide or throw any of the anime away....( and no it isn't hentai). I have to agree with Clover Phantom over there. It's only 2D animations. Get a life won't you? Accusing cartoon characters for the crime of "brainwashing" is a bit over the top isn't it? And the pervy bits? Well, that depends on the target audience. There are cartoons that target kids, so they show kid friendly episodes. Cartoons that target teenagers aren't as kid friendly. Same law goes for movies and anime.

I am a proud manga lover. I realize that some people read manga or watch anime for the wrong reasons, but that happens with everything from paperback novels that have erotic sections in them to horror movies that seem to always have some sort of sensual part. If you don't like the style of japanese anime then just don't watch it. I personally love it because it can be extremely different. Oh, and I noticed somebody ranting about the teardrop and # that happens on chibis a lot. The teardrop is basically something to show emotionan, as is the vein throbbing (#). Oh, and Toby, do your research before you insult anime, k? If you go to a local borders or whatever bookstore and look in the anime section, there are some realistic mangas that have normal noses, normal eyes, non-spiky hair, etc. I don't really see what the big issue is that anybody'd have to go out of their way to insult anime. If you don't like it, stay out of it's way. I know I'm not crazy enough to try and shove it down your throat... So please don't try to take it out of the people's lives who want it.

Recently, I receive spams regarding about anime are currently the one who corrupts the mind of the children but what prove could all of you present for the fan of anime? As for the statement above, I would totally agree. ANIME doesn't brainwash the children's mind. If I would say, the film production such as the blockbuster movies and pornography are the ones who brainwashes the children nowadays. Anime is just a reflection of the real movies.
