Bad California Weather

image This picture is going around via email. It's not really a hoax at all. Just a joke. But since it's about Southern California, I couldn't resist sharing it. Here's the text that accompanies the email:

With all the news on TV lately about the subzero weather and snow that the east coast and upstate NY areas are experiencing, we shouldn't forget that Southern California has it's share of devastating weather also. I've attached a photo illustrating the excessive damage caused to a home from a west coast storm that passed through the Los Angeles area a couple of days ago. It really makes you cherish what you have, and reminds us not to take life for granted!!! Warning: The attached picture is quite graphic and may not be suitable for younger viewers.

Maybe it's either the link has the wrong picture on the end of it, or it's trying to say: "Look what freak weather we had in S. California: a garden chair was fully blown over in light rain!!!" - and that's the 'joke'.

That's exactly what it's trying to say. It's poking fun at the lack of horrible weather California always has.

I lived in Southern California 15 years...we had plenty of storms, not much of a joke you ask me. It's that song throws everyone off.

Yeah i got the picture as well and frankly i thought it was stupid. It is not funny at all. Come on did it take a first grader to figure this one out. HAHA!!! Not funny!

Well, as someone who moved from Madison to California, I find this hilarious. They are always going on about how it's storm of the century every time we get a quarter-inch of rain.

Obviously this joke went over *some* people's heads. No matter, as long as the smart ones got it. =)

They should be showing mudslides or forest fires...that would impress me.

I thought it was hilarious. I have a ton of relatives in California and go here pretty much every summer. The complain about the rain all the time! I live in GA and we have some pretty weird weather. One day it will be beautiful and the next you are standing in water up to your ankles. I am used to tornadoes and rain!
