I normally don't respond on blogs, but Adam from Vassar, MI is a perfect example why this country needs to allocate more tax dollars to our education system. First of all "Jews" is more properly spelled "Jewes". Secondly, we do not live in an Authoritarian Society with a "Supreme Ruler". This country was founded by people who wanted checks and balances and the right to offer a dissenting opinion. The Constitution of The United States says free speech is a RIGHT not a privilege only applicable during a time of peace. I suggest Adam go to Syria or China and see what it's like when free speech is forbidden. The progressive thinking and leadership of the United States is what has kept the world and man-kind as we know it a reality. Thus, I say to those who think this country is on the right path, just wait. History has a habit of surfacing the truth. Unbiased historians will rank George W. Bush with Richard Nixon and Andrew Jackson. Which, I think, is very fitting to say the least.

recently, july 14 - 31, 2006, on a 6000 mile road trip from san antonio, tx. to boston, niagara falls, toledo, wisconson dells, santa fe, new mexico, i passed through the great state of connecticut on the john davis lodge turnpike, another name for toll road. just after crossing into the state, i stopped at a service/rest area to take a break from driving and get a bite to eat. inside the service area, in addition to a variety of fast food restaurants, was a connecticut state information booth. i asked the young lady standing behind the counter where the birthplace of our president, george w. bush, was located. she gave me a puzzled look as if to say, "why would you ask me?", then she said, "he's from texas, isn't he?"



now, it's fairly easy to understand that response since the state of connecticut voted overwhelmingly for john kerry. but, don't you think they would at least acknowledge george at the state information booths?

ultimately though, we are seeing, and experiencing how violance, hatred and war are not solutions to todays challenges. if i believe in peace, then i must practice peace, in my actions and thoughts.

there have been times in my life when i have hired a person to do a job. i liked that person, but they just couldn't do the job like it was to be done. nothing against the person, just not the person qualified to handle the job.

i like george. i'd love to sit down with him a smoke a joint, along with willie, and just enjoy his company. heck, i'd even give him a job taking care of a ranch and clearing brush. but president?....

well, he's here now, he's been here for awhile, and he'll be here for a couple more years. there's an old saying that you get more with honey than you do with vinegar.

i have begun to think of george in kinder terms. after all, God did make "all" of us, george included. so let's not dis God for His creating. instead, let's focus on what needs to be done to solve the challenges. compassion may very well be the place to start.

It is mindboggling to me how much deception, lying, cheating and misinformation is feed to the population- who eat it up whole, without question in blind Patriotism. WOMD? -none- it is the Americans who have those- and use them. Bush from Texas? No- born in New Haven. It goes on and on.
I cringe at the ignorance of the average person who whole heartedly back "America" without question, and tow the Bush line. It is very frightening to see our liberties squashed, and America led down the garden path to certain collapse. Democracy? Perhaps Americans should partake in it themselves (about 50% or Americans don't vote!) Get educated America- knowledge is power- like the power to make wise choices and see when leaders are bad and get rid of them. Remember the Bush Kerry fiasco? The ballots were rigged in Bushes favor (helps when Bro Jeb was the Gov of Florida) How did America fall for that scam? Bush ads portraying the good decent Vietnam vet Kerry as not much of a soldier and Bush as good one- what a joke- Bush was a pussy whipped rich kid who avoided the reserves/army and never went to war. They call it spin- what it really is is deception and lies. America- wake up and smell the horse shite- if you really love America- take part in making sure it is run honestly, fairly, and properly! When Bush quoted Jesus from the Holy Bible and said "You are either with me or against me" I knew we were in trouble! I understand now why Arab cultures see us as the Great Satan with G W in power. I forgot to mention that I arrived to this site while searching G W's birthplace- which I was curious about after hearing Willie Nelson say Bush was "neither a cowboy nor a Texan"- I believed him and he is true! Come to think about it, Willie Nelson would make a far better American President than Bush. VOTE FOR WILLIE! Cheers!

i dont personally believe in being a republican or a democrat, because some not all, please dont misinterperate, choose a side, most likely based on the people they are around, and blindy vote for that person, simply becuase of their party. george bush, at first seemed to have hope, he helped get through 9/11. it seemed ok. but now, my god, what has happened to our country and the some o fthe countries we have corrupted? we went into iraq searching for weapons, none to be found, so therefore, what? taking its leader (yes its fine he was taken out of power he was very dangerous), but nonetheless, taking complete control over the country as if it was our property and running it as our is? one country run like this is enough, it is the country of the iraqi people, it is theirs, they should decide, with their own leader, their own cabinet, and other political leader, and their own military. we are wrong. it is NOT a war in iraq. mearly a game of deadly hide-and-go seek. if im seeming ignorant, im sorry. by the way david from miami....you are a great man, with a great was of using words. im 14, im very into this. alot of young people are now. and some of us are very upset with this country. kids in my classes are saying if the country continues on this course, when they turn 18 they will denounce their citizenship and like in england. that i believe, should tell you something.

The rest of the world has always had a silent and not-so-silent jealousy of The United States of America. No American President acts alone - they are advised!. G W was a better choice than Gore the bore or Scary Harry Kerry by far. Jimmy Carter was an absolute disaster for America and did more damage than any other president in our history. Bill Clinton (slick willie) would rather play around in the White House w/Moni L (& the host of others) than capture Osama Bin Laden. 9/11 was not a conspiracy. When are we going to see that Islamic Fundamentalists, not George W, are our real enemies? When are we going to unite against those who are ending our way of life & stop dividing just as our enemies want us to?
