Interesting enough... I'm just not sure of what "subliminal messages" I might want to be sending to myself. Also, there's always the possibility of someone hacking into your system and sending "un-wanted" messages. With them being subliminal you wouldn't even know the "rogue" suggestions were there until it was too late... for instance, until after you'd been fired from your job for lunching naked everyday, or commited to a mental hospital for clucking like a chicken at 4am everyday!!!
*OK so maybe I'm paranoid, but it's still possible!* |

Actually, what really puzzles me is that it's created by a Canadian, yet registered with the US Patents office...don't they have a Canadian one? |

Don't know... perhaps that's because he's trying it out here first or something to see if it's going to make a profit or something with plans to expand to other markets later on??? |

I guess you would send yourself messages like:
"Put the cake down, fat man!"
"Study harder, stupid."
"Light up that cigarette, and you'll catch on fire, bitch."
Ya know, motivational stuff. |

Almost a good idea, but it looks like it would get annoying. How about tieing a string around your finger?
And Mark-N-Jen, this looks like just a clear frame of glass, not some computer thing that could be hacked into. Ah, the safety of analog! |

smerk, you had mentioned the the inventor is Canadian yet the product is patented by the US....a couple possible explanations.
1. The Canadian Government is too busy trying to get NHL hockey back on track
or more likely
2. The US Patent Office is very accomodating and notoriously half assed when it comes to issuing patents.
examples
Sports Utility Stroller
Heart Shaped Cheese Slice
Eye Protector For Chickens
Penis Locking and Lacerating Vaginal Insert (ouch)
Apparatus For Simulating A "High Five"
Bird Diaper
and just to be fair, I found a pretty comical Canadian patent
Reality Mediator for the Prevention of Theft of Visual Attention or Theft of Mental Visual Processing Resources
a bizarre device that kind of relates to this threads topic as in that it is a "wearable device that alters the wearer's visual perception of reality" |

Sounds like some pretty good reasons, Chuck! |
