I'll hold back judgement until they have run the tests they mention. |

First of all, I've never seen IOL before this, and second of all, she probably just snuck off and had a sex change operation. Or her brother took her place. Nevertheless, growing a penis doesn't make you a man; I like to think a y chromosome (and no extra X's) is the secret. But I suppose that may be sexist. |

Actually there is documented evidence of females in South America "changing sex". What happened was they all share a common ancestor with something different in the DNA. I think it's a case of some physical development that normally happens before birth but it gets delayed until puberty. I don't know if this is the case with this story (21 sounds too old) and I don't have a link to the "documented evidence" I mentioned but I did see it on a documentary many years ago. |

Bit of dodgy reporting. They make it sound as if it happened "overnight"! |

I have heard of a hermaphrodite's "male part" increasing dramatically in size during puberty so that a previously identified "female" looks "male", but that happens during puberty. 21 sounds too late... |

There is a disease that causes a female to grow facial hair, and parts of the pubic area to drop into a phallic-like shape...or even for the clitoris to extend in a penile way...
But this doesn't sound like either of those things. |

You know, there must be some sort of proportionality between penis length and other parts of the body, since there are lots of rules to the human body; people with big arms don't have small hands, for example. I just wonder if it ever has been studied seriously, and if so, if the information is available.
