Sorry if anyone didn't get the Simpsons reference (guess it should have been "Coolest. Toy. Ever.").
When I first watched the video, I saw the boats swimming around and had an internal monologue something like the following: -
"This is one of these 'caught on camera' gags. The boat was doing to hit someone in the crotch or something."
[Boat jumps into the air]
"Hoax! Someone's got it on a piece of fishing-line off camera."
[Seconds pass]
"That is so fake. Worst. Hoax. Ever."
[Time passes]
"Okay. I don't know how they did that."
[More time passes]
"Holy <BELGIUM>! This is for real!"
I was really disappointed to find you can't buy one! I just want to take one down to my local lake and freak people out. |

Kinda cool, but not really surprising if you have watched this type of boat race in full scale. They hit one bad wave and their boat becomes and airplane.
Of course when there is a living human being inside it is a little less cute when they come smashing down. |

I suppose you could just buy a rc plane and turn it into a boatplane. In fact, you could probably radically alter it too look like a boat, since aerodynamics doesn't seem as important at that scale--remember the flying lawnmower? |

I do not believe that this thing can fly. NOTHING can drive on land and water, and mow the lawn, and be so lightweight that it can fly! Plus I haven't seen anything on it so that it can fly. No propellers, no fuselage, no nothing. So I cannot believe this is real. I saw the shotas of the bottom and saw that it is a piece of plastic held on there by 2 bolts. Believe me, there is nothing on it that shows it can fly. |

Ummm... you misunderstood the mowing the lawn thing. It does not mow the lawn.
And, I saw propellers, I'm not sure it was on one of the stills or on the page, but I saw 'em. |

I just looked over the first sot of it, and I saw a very small propeller on the top.. Still that is not enough to make something that does both of those things.
P.S. Coolest. Toy. Ever. is a Worth1000 photoshop contest. See for yourself. |

I meant to say that teeny propeller is not enough to make anything fly, unless it was a fly. |

Now i'm less skeptical about this. Yet, what is it made of? That thing got run over, & it still worked! I WANT IT! (slobbers over computer while showing the video) |

That's depends - it looked to me like it was made of foam pressboard, my husband uses it a lot in his projects, and I can attest to it's low weight.
But anyway, do you have a link to where it is in the Worth1000 contest? |
