My dogs seem to have been more interested in testicular cancer. |

There's a progam somewhere here in the US that is working with dogs on detecting cancerous skin cells. I wish I could remember where I had seen it (on TV) but I don't at this moment. Very interesting, anyway & doesn't seem to be a hoax. |

I've seen that ^ on Unsolved Mysteries...not the most credible source in the universe, but it does appear that there's at least some semi-legit research going on about dogs detecting cancer. Whether it actually works is another question entirely. |

You can do a lot with 220 million nosebuds. That's 45 times more powerful than the human nose, by the way. |

The Chinese "barefoot doctors" apparently also used trained dogs for pregnancy testing for this same reason; The dogs can pick up the changed pheremone output in a pregnant woman. However, ELIZA tests are so much faster these days that the dogs are being replaced. |

I saw that show too, a while back. Some dogs can detect 1 part per Billion. They can pretty much "see" through their nose. Mind blowing really. |
