The problem with a chatroom, as has been pointed out before, is that many people who are at work wouldn't be able to use it.
Plus, I don't have time to do anything until June, when my book hopefully should be done. I'll look into better options then.
Memory usage really isn't an issue. Text doesn't take up much space. Not like images. |

ED...if you're read other threads on this issue, you probably wouldn't have had to post this. |

If not a chatroom, perhaps the 'Off Topic Chit-Chat's could be excluded from 'View Recent Comments'?
I gave up using this feature because there was only ever OTCC posts there. |

You could always just start an IRC channel or something, i'm sure people would chat on it 😛 |

Although I'm on there a lot, I actually agree with you on this. It does make it hard to find any other recent comments. |

If you want a room, you could setup an IRC channel on an IRC network I know of with free Java Applet/CGI-IRC and whatnot.
http://www.ecnet.org/chat = Java Applet
http://www.ecnet.org/cgi-irc/irc.cgi = CGI-IRC |

If you go to my website, you can download a mIRC client that goes to a chat network, I could help you set up a channel there. |

Hey, if you want a chatroom, let me know. It'll be on the IRC medium but you can get on it through an IRC client (like mirc) or through a website (java). Since I run the server you'd have the administrator/operator/moderator privileges of running the channel however you see fit.
does that sound fun? 😊 I think so |
