Many years ago I heard a series of prophecies that supposedly corresponded
to each pope.
When JP snuffed if recently I thought I'd look into it, partly because I was
thinking the prophesies claimed the end of the world with the next pope.
Seems I was one pope too early.

My main problem with the prophecies other than being catholic in origin is
that each is no more than a few words long
It's easy to interpret a few words any way you like
I wonder if this is where the word Malarky came from?

"It's easy to interpret a few words any way you like"
I see what you mean, these prophecies seem to be very loosely interpreted at best 😛 Sounds a bit like Nostradamus' prophecies to me, his prophecies was interpreted into rome falling in the... i think early 90's or late 80's by nuclear strike. |

"In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Peter the Roman, who will feed his flock amid many tribulations, after which the seven-hilled city will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge the people. The End." It has been noticed concerning Petrus Romanus, who according to St. Malachy's list is to be the last pope, that the prophecy does not say that no popes will intervene between him and his predecessor designated Gloria oliv |

According to prophecies by St. Malarky:
Pope #110 - De labore Solis: John Paul II (1978-2005)
(of the eclipse of the sun, or from the labour of the sun)
Hist.: Karol Wojtyla was born on May 18, 1920 during a solar eclipse. He also comes from behind the former Iron Curtain (the East, where the Sun rises). He might also be seen to be the fruit of the intercession of the Woman Clothed with the Sun labouring in Revelation 12 (because of his devotion to the Virgin Mary). His Funeral occurred on 8 April, 2005 when there was a solar eclipse visible in the Americas.

Often there is the interpretation of Peter the Roman and Antichrist grouped together. Little mention is made however of Peter the Roman and St. John the Baptist. The world will never end and the 'beginning' of the 'end' is the return of Christ's angel sent to prepare the way. At this writing, (St.) John (the Baptist) has been resurrected for more than 53 years. |
