Just wanted to post a great April Fool's day joke that got played on someone
I know. Apparently the people in his office created a website in his name
and posted a bunch of satirical articles about the man. Then they put a
webcam under his desk and turned it on on April 1. The webcam is linked off
the site.
They then told the guy's friends, neighbors, and anyone else that would
listen to checkout the site. The guy didn't find out about the site until
3:14 (funny photo in the archive) when someone leaked the secret.

Hi all. I'm one of the people that actually put this prank together. It was a heck of a lot of fun. As you'll see on the site, he has kept the cam up because he thinks it's so funny.
There's nothing illegal about taking video of someone in a public area. In this case, it's in an office that we share, and since we didn't record audio, we're alright. Plus we knew he'd be a good sport.
Enjoy the site. |

Jeff,
You really think that's not illegal. If he'd been pissed about it you could indeed be facing charges, invasion of privacy at least if not something along the lines of sexual assault / battery. It's just the same as the guys with mini-cams on their shoes who try to shoot pics up skirts... those pics are taken in public yet those people have gotten into some trouble over what you call "taking pics in public areas."
Think of it this way, would it be just as O.K. and legal if you had pulled this prank on a female co-worker, one who was wearing a skirt?
Not that I don't think it was funny, or O.K. or whatever... just that I believe you're mistaken about it being perfectly legal. If he'd have wanted to he could have caused you guys some grief over it, so it's a good thing that he's such a good sport. |
