This is pretty funny. I've heard this before and I knew it was an urban legend. I personally can't stand KFC, never could, even as a child. One day I was stuck somewhere and the Colonel was my only option. I went in and was looking at the menu and realized that the word "chicken" was nowhere on there. I had a hard time ordering with a straight face. |

I used to be a chicken...then the colonel offered me a job. 'See the world' he said and led me to his office. After feeding me a myriad of drugs as a 'precautionary measure' against time dilation I was loaded onto a gurney. Then I began to notice changes in my body...I never realized I would never be the same again *sniff*
All my feathers fell off and I became a blob of an organisms. No other chickens would cluck to me anymore. They took parts of me and cloned me to make an army...an army of food. Damn that colonel and his soothing hot oil bath. |

Why would they get rid of the beaks? That's the best part. |

I worked for KFC for 8 years (I know, it's sad but it got me through all my studies) and I can assure you that real chickens were used. (Well they are in Australia, I don't know what the hell they're feeding you guys)
KFC don't run their own chicken farms, they get supplied by proper chciken suppliers (here it's Inghams). So if the chickens aren't 'real' then it's actually the chicken company that is doing it, not KFC.
Personally, if you cook something in THAT much oil, I don't consider it to be proper food anymore anyway, with or without beaks. |

The Food Network stated that KFC changed it's name because the state of Kentucky did something so they can charge a tax for businesses that use the states name. Even the "Kentucky Derby" would have to pay this outragious tax. KFC refused to do this so, thus, KFC was born. |

Also, about the chicken mutalations, here are some good links to see chicken abuse videos and then a link to KFC defending themselves.

It's true that the chickens we eat do not live happy lives, but that's a whole different story. Animal abuse does not raise the same outrage as genetic engineering. I'd have to say though, that I'd feel better eating genetically engineered animals that felt no pain and were pretty much just organs and muscle grown in a machine. Or, if they did have brains, we could link them into some sort of pleasure device. A chicken matrix, if you will. |

The Chicken Matrix. I think that would make a great movie. And Keanu could still play the lead. |

The only reason I eat at KFC is to celebrate the PETA boycott of KFC. Every time I see some idiotic celebrity - usually a rock star of some kind - telling me how evil the Colonel is, I make a beeline straight to the nearest KFC to reward them for pissing off PETA.
The counter help get a real kick out of it. |

KFC Worker: Welcome to KFC, may I take your order please!
Customer: I'll have a bucket of extra crispy genetically engineered chicken.
KFC Worker: Would you like that with or without the feathers? |

You know, a lot of what they said about factory farms is true, but who would ever take it seriously when shown like that? Some people really suck at analogies. |

i went to the kfc on rome-hilliard road today and got a bucket of chicken. we found hair on the chicken--so we could not eat any of it. i can prove this as i kept the hair. |

this is a hoax! kfc uses real chickens they are only genetically modified. they are kept on a diet of growth promoters and kept in small spaces that is why people are so skeptical of them. |

i am a vegetarian from hearing many of these stories. i would not be surprised if this was true. either way, i will not eat animals, but i am all for the rights of animals. when i read the story about the mutant chickens with no heads, feet, or beacks, and being fed through tubes with blood and food, i was sick to my stomach and started crying. i hope that it is not true. and if by any small chance this is true, i am going to protest and convince everyone i know never to eat at kfc ever again. |

When I first heard this, I knew it had to be bullshit, but not wanting to offend my cousin who told me, I stroked my chin thoughtfully and said "Hmmm, is that so..." as she told her tale =) but as with most Urban Legends, there's a grain of truth to this story... In the mid 80's I worked for a company in San Diego that manufactured poultry equipment; and one of their products was a machine called a Debeaker, which was basically a blade heated by electricity which would be used on chicks to remove the point of their beaks. I asked my boss why you'd remove a chicken's beak, and he told me that in the massive barns used to raise chickens, if the beaks weren't removed, the chickens would kill each other by pecking with their sharp beaks. I suspect this is also the reason they are declawed. Chickens have been bred over the past 50 years to have larger breasts and leg quarters, but to my knowledge featherless chickens are still science-fiction.
Oh, yeah, one more thing- humans are Omnivores- we'll eat anything! Someone needs to tell those PETA douchebags that the protein from eating meat was the main reason the human brain developed as it did. I don't feel guilty for being at the top of the food chain, and now I think I'll go eat a leftover drumstick from last night's BBQ- Bon Appetit, yall!!! |
cukoo people kfc is right

kfc is right. they and the farmers are not cruel to chickens and they use real chickens without hair, and on top of that, you stupids don't know anything about the so called "name change"!!! They only shortened the full name so people don't have to say things as quick as the people in the commercials. I only know this when it comes to KFC Canada. I have no clue for any other country. I am only 10 but I will tell everyone that you guys are stupid and kfc treats their chickens fair and they use CHICKENS!!!!! |
