When Naked Chicks Fall Through Roofs

Probably more of a prank than a hoax, but according to this report, plucked chickens are putting holes in rooftops. The comment by unfortunate homeowner Warrick Slee that if it was some sort of natural event then fair enough is kind of amusing, considering how poorly a chicken flies even when alive and with all its plumage intact. You have to wonder though: how hard would you have to lob a chicken to put it through someone's rooftop? Or from what height could you drop a chicken and still be accurate enough to hit a roof?

Interesting story, but I had already posted about it on my main weblog (on the front page of the site), so I'm not sure that I want to keep two threads going about this.
However, I can see how it could be confusing that there's both my weblog and the forum, operating separately. It would be possible to have all my weblog posts appear in the forum. It would look like this:
http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/hoax/forum/forumtest
That might stop people from reposting stuff that's already been posted in my weblog. However, it would also mean that posts by me kind of overwhelm the forum. Any suggestions/ideas about this? |

I like the separation. Mixing them would be confusing since the weblog is yours and the forum is ours, so to speak. You might put up a notice about checking for prior threads on a topic before starting a new one (I'm guilty of this myself). Of course, nobody pays attention to your notice about fake doctors notes so it might not help. You could threaten them with physical bodily harm. Or with Hairy, whichever is worse. |

I like the idea of inflicting Hairy upon anyone who reposts a topic.
I also like the idea of keeping the separation between my blog and the forum. |

I've now changed my forum test page to see what the forum would look like if it was the same format as my own weblog. It could work, I think. |

Doesn't work for me. I like the way it looks now. |

I agree with Charybdis, I like the way the forum looks now.
Besides, your weblog should look different than the forum, it sets you apart, as it should. |

I say don't pick at it. It will get inflicted. |

Nightbringer's title for this topic is a lot better than mine.
And I've decided to leave everything just the way it is. The occasional repost doesn't bother me that much. |

Here is a suggestion when someone with the powers to edit sees a post in the forum on something Alex has in his Weblog a link could be added to the main entry. Or one could always add the link to the weblog as a comment. Just a thought. |
