Bizarre. Here's the photo of the 'real soldier' versus the toy soldier.

So is that a little toy gun in the picture? And did they create an entire miniature set to take the photo? |

I don't know about a miniature set - the base of a concrete wall and a napkin would do nicely for the photo they showed. |

Way back, in the winter of 90/91, there was an onslaught of Cheap Chinese Operation Desert Storm Products. After they languished on the clearance shelf of my local Ames Dept. store for over a year, I bought a pair of Colin Powell and Norman Schwartzkopf "America's Heroes" collectible figurines, each on a small pedestal, attractively packaged in a clear, plastic box reminiscent of Lenin's Tomb. These babies were rushed into production, and they had distinctive Asian features. Please- do not take this as any sort of slur. I'm just describing the New Oil Order toys, okay? Colin Powell looked like a cross between Tiger Woods and Chairman Mao, and Schwartzkopf looked like like the love child of Bruce and Peggy Lee. Perhaps those toy guys know something we don't. |

It really is bizarre, and seems like something you would see on a cable access TV show. I've also heard speculation that a video purportedly showing insurgents firing a SAM at the British Hercules was also a hoax--only the images of the downed plane seemed real, the rest was just stock footage pacthed together. |

"So is that a little toy gun in the picture?"
It appears to be the gun that comes with the action figure. You can see it in the box to the right of the figure. Notice you don't see any hands on the gun. I bet from a slightly wider angle you would see an enormous thumb and index finger holding the stock of the rifle. Logically, this means that a U.S. soldier has been captured by giants. |
