Alex, why does the homepage have those new sickly olive-green highlights? It's horrible!

I have to express concern myself, A-dog. That green juxtaposed behind that blue or worse, that red, makes me feel like I'm going to have a seizure. That red, mainly. It's kinda hypnotizing... makes you feel like you're looking at the sun... akk gkkk glllrggggg... whew... that was close |

The reason is that I'm pretty hopeless when it comes to design or color. I was messing around with the site design last night as I sat watching tv. I began by moving a lot of the lists I had in the right-hand column into pulldown menus, which I still think is a good idea. And then I started experimenting with different colors. All I can say is that I thought it looked okay last night at 10pm. Today, in daylight, you're right. It looks a little off. |

The black on green is ok but the others are hard on my eyes. Whatever you do, don't do red on blue or blue on red. I'm like Hairy (oh my god, did I really say that?), the colors start to dance around and it makes me sick. |

I agree with Glamcat, the pull down menus are nice. I do like that new color too! 😉 |

1) The Yellow. Looks like babyfood. I like a nice, canary yellow, myself. 2) The Green. Hmmm.. looks like Colonial Green. My Mom once bought an kit that included that same color paint. It was an "Antiqueing" kit, and also included a dark green stain, which brought out any scratches or "character" in old wood, to be applied atop the paint. For some reason, Mom thought it would be a good idea to try the paint and stain out on an old player piano we had. Needless to say, my Dad was concerned to find that Mom had painted the piano green, instead of the unfinished desk for which the kit was intended. He was even more freaked out the next day when he came home from work. It seems that Mom read the kit instructions, which suggested marring the wood surface with knicks and knocks and such to make the wood look aged. After Mom whacked the piano a few times with a hammer and screwdriver, she graduated to a spare bicycle chain. Needless to say, the look on my Dad's face was priceless, when he walked into the TV room and found my Mom beating a green piano with a bicycle chain, like a deranged Juvenile Delinquent. Mom's only defence was to sputter out: " He started it". True story. |
