There is a winery in McKinney, Texas that is now making Hiney Wine with real wine vs. the grape juice from old days.
They are bringing back the Hiney Wine gig but now they have real wine.

Yes, I remember the Hiney Wine commercials from the 80's. Was that for real? There was one commercial that said that Hiney Winery was located in beautiful downtown Keyes, California. Which sent my grandfather and I driving all over the nasty little town of keyes looking for it. LOL Keyes was this tiny little white trash town that consisted of like two streets. Had lots of laughs from the commercials anyway though. |

Yancey Stillinger did the Hiney Wine commercials in VT back then. Made in "...beautiful downtown Hinesburg..." a few towns south of where he taught high school English and did the color-commentary for the home football games. |

The location of the winery in Montana was behind the library in beautiful downtown Big Fork. Fooled a lot of people who went looking for the winery and fooled a lot of folks who went to Super America (convenience store) asking for it. |

I was living in Memphis, TN when I heard those commercials on the radio. I guess depending on what radio station was using the fake commercial Hiney Winery was located in a different place because I remember it being located in Iuka, MS...not far from Memphis. |

KTYL did those "commercials" in the 80's and they located the winery in "beautiful downtown Arp" (another town of about two streets). "It's the wine that made Arp, ARP!"
Remember the imported version of Heine Wine, Derri |

I remember the Hiney Wine commercials when I was living in VA.
The Hiney brothers, Big Red and Thor, and their sister Ophelia Hiney. As I recall, they were located in "Beautiful Butt Station in Chesapeake." |

I remember listening to these ads on WIGY in Central Maine from when I was a kid. They were really clever and funny! The winery was "located" in Intervale, NH - a tiny little crossroads town just outside North Conway, NH. Needless to say, my efforts to find the winery failed. I had a t-shirt that said "Ask me about my Hiney" on the back of it. I actually just saw someone wearing a similar one yesterday and decided to look this up to see if I could find anything on it. I had no idea it was a nationwide phenomenon until I found this thread! |

The winery was located behind the library in beautiful downtown, Worms, Nebraska. My good friend was the morning DJ for the radio station that did the "commercials" back then. I've tried to explain that and Chicken Man to the kids and they just don't seen to get it. |

I had listened to WMC - FM 100 in Memphis, TN and have a "re-labeled" bottle of wine that a DJ gave us there with the Hiney Winery labels on it. When I moved to Richmond my kids and I were delighted to find that Richomond also had a Hiney Winery in "Beautiful Downtown Short Pump". I have tried to explain the fun of the commercials to my husband but I guess you just had to be there. |

I heard the commercials while living in the Chicago area. At that time, Hiney was the wine that made Alsip, Alsip. Other members of the Hiney clan included "Harry" and "Ida Rather Had". another feature of the wine was that it did contain bubbles, bacause who would want bubbles in their Hiney. One of the better commercials, IMHO, was one that suggested a person could hold a PTA Meeting at their house. At the meeting, offer the attendees a little Hiney, and deduct the costs on your taxes. |

I'm sorry, the word "not" was missing from my previous post. It should have read: Another feature of the wine was that it did not contain bubbles, because who would want bubbles in their Hiney. |

I was just converting some old cassettes into MP3s and came across a tape I made in 1983 from B-104 in Baltimore.
The DJ was doing his own comedy and one day started doing the Hiney WIne commercials. In Baltimore, the HIney WInery was located behind the Public Library in Arbutus, MD. "Hiney WIne. The wine that made Arbutus Arbutus". |

I was in middleschool when these comercials came on. My Dad and I would wake up at 5am on school days, laugh until our sides ached, and record them on cassette tapes which I found a couple years ago. Our Hiney winery was located behind the library in beautiful downtown Touchet (Too She) Washington. Another 2 road town near Walla Walla. I think I also still have a coffee mug from the winery. We had a wine fest at a local big hotel which my family went to; the other local wines had very few visitors yet the Hiney table was PACKED all day and they had now wine in those pull tab cans. |

I just acquired an old tape recorder 70's/80's model with a tape that is packed with original recordings of jingles for the Hiney Winery in Wabbaseka, Arkansas. Pretty neat..first time I had heard of it so I figured I'd do some research |

I was staying in Lake Worth, Fl in 1984 when my girlfriend and I would listen to "Y-100" ("Ft Lauderdale, Miami, and the Palm Beaches") to hear the Hiney Wine commercials. The DJ's handle was "Athlete's Foot", and they did all the Hiney shtick mentioned earlier. Each commercial would end with a little song: "Hiney in the morning, Hiney in the evening, Hiney at suppertime, If I give you some Hiney, willyou always be mine?" |
