/red I found this link:

It's a homeopathic remedy for Jet Lag. How is it possible to reverse jet lag with medicine? Jet Lag is your body telling you it's a different time than it really is. How can a chemical change that?

The use of melatonin to treat jet lag has been going on for years. It is a hormone that is released and either makes you "naturally" sleepy or not sleepy (I can never remember which). Personally, I don't get jet lag when I travel overseas. I only seem to get it when I come home. The best cure I have found is to assume a normal schedule as soon as possible. I can usually get back to normal within two days. |

Well, your brain and body themselves are just a huge bunch of very complex chemical reactions... so I'm sure the right chemicals could reset your body's internal clock. I think the more important criticism of nojetlag is that it's a homeopathic remedy. I know some people swear by homeopathic medicine, but as far as I'm concerned the stuff is next to useless. |

I've been checking on some of the herbs in this product, I don't have all the info to post yet. I will say this, do not use this product as the first herb listed in the ingredients should not be taken orally, it is only meant for external use.
Remember herbs should be treated just like medication, always check with someone who knows how they should be used. Some can help, some can make you sick and others can outright kill you. I will post more on the herbs when I have found all the info. |

No-Jet-Lag is supposed to counter fatigue, disorientation, lack of concentration and motivation, broken sleep after travel, dehydration and discomfort of legs and feet.
In checking my sources I found that Chamomilla aka (Wild Chamomile) will help you sleep, as a matter of fact in can make you drowsy this would help with the broken sleep. Bellis Perennis (aka Daisy) is an antispasmodic which may help with the discomfort of the legs and feet. Lycopodium (aka Clubmoss) is used for night restlessness, anxiety and mood swings and may also help with sleep problems. There are several types of Clubmoss and the site isn't very specific about which type they use. If they are using Chinese Clubmoss this could be what is supposed to treat the disorientation and lack of concentration. Ipecacuanha ( aka Ipecac) is commonly used as an emetic usually used in the treatment of poisoning and has been used as an expectorant in bronchitis and conditions such as whooping cough. Arnica Montana (aka Leopard's Bane) is not even supposed to be taken orally. I honestly don't know how these last two herbs are supposed to help any of the symptoms of jet lag.
All of these herbs can have some nasty side effects. The site claims this is safe for everyone and in my opinion this simply isn't the case. Chamomile should not be used by pregnant women since it may tighten muscles in the uterus, which may cause a miscarriage. Chinese Clubmoss may increase the risk of having seizures for individuals who have or who have had epilepsy. If Arnica Montana is taken internally it can be damaging to the heart. English Daisy has a duretic action (if this herb has a diuretic action how does this help with dehydration i wonder) this can increase the risk of toxicity with anti-inflammatory analgesics. With Ipecacuanha you are warned to use extreme care in its use, if an emetic dose is used large amounts of water should be taken. Many people believe that because herbs are natural, they are safe, this is a myth, some can help, some can harm, some can cause problems when mixed with other herbs or medicines. Ok, I'll get off my soapbox now!
There are many more warnings for each of these herbs I will post each link below.

Lycopodium (Clubmoss) this link is assuming the type used is the Chinese Clubmoss, I really do hate to assume anything you know: http://www.drugdigest.org/DD/DVH/HerbsWho/0,3923,552633%7CLycopodium+serrata,00.html |

Or you could just drink some coffee and tough it out. I am speaking out of turn of course...the only airplane I've ever been on was a cut-in-half model that had roomy aisles (enough for a 3rd grade class to stand ing) & a plastic flight attendant. |

I was very skeptical about No-Jet-Lag but when I returned from China two years ago (12 hour difference) it took me eleven days to get back to normal (going wasn't as bad). So when I went again this year I decided out of desperation to try it, and my wife -- far more hostile to the idea of homeopathic remedies than I -- went along with it, practically holding her nose at the idea. Neither of us suffered any jet lag at all. Not a bit. We went out the first night we were home and had a full day the next day. We never crashed. I was/am amazed. I don't believe it was a placebo effect, especially because my wife made fun of me for doing it yet also had no jet lag. We're going abroad again in few days and will definitely take it. |

There's also a new drug out that helps you function better on less sleep. There was an article about it in Reader's Digest. I don't remember the name of the drug though. The author said he wanted to try it. So he went to his Dr. & told him what he wanted to do...Dr. gave him a scrip...but the guy cut them in half b/c he thought the dose seemed to be too much for him. He got addicted in 2 days so he stopped. But he did function on little sleep. |

I did not find that No-Jet-Lag made me sleep. I slept some on my long trip back from China, but not all that much. The only effect of the No-Jet-Lag that I could detect was that I did indeed have no jet lag.

Hi all,
first I also didnt believe it. I found the NO JET LAG tablets in a online shop in the net (http://www.wellness-shop.com/no_jetlag.html) - and because I had to travel from Germany to the Pacific which is quite far to go, I thought it wouldnt harm to try. I was amazed, because when testing it (my partner took the pills while going (I didnt) and I took them while coming back), you really could see a big difference. Always the one not taking was more hit by the Jetlag effects. Anyway - it's not scientific of course like a blind study or so - I know that, but just these are the personal experiences we had and thought will share it with the community.
Have a great day:)

Hi,
I have been taking NoJetlag for 4 year now, and in most instances it helped me a lot. I just flew to India from Germany and did not take it and suffered for 3-4 days to come over 4,5 h difference. OFten I travel to the US and have 0 Problems. I suggested it a 5 different persons in the last 4 years to try, and all of them reported having reduced to no jet lag effect.
Is it real or just psychology and a placebo effect? I dont know. I work in the traditional pharma industry and my moto is: "try it, if it works good, if not stop using it". If the placebo effect works reproducably, what do I have to loose? Its only hard to buy it in Germany, thats my problem. |

My wife and I discovered NO-JET-LAG while planning a trip to France and Italy. Since the trip was going to be relatively short we wanted to be wide awake and not miss out on any of it. On past overseas trips it has always taken me a few days to feel "normal" and get over the drowsiness and lack of energy. We decided to give NO-JET-LAG a try figuring we had nothing to lose. We purchased it through our local REI and followed the directions and when we arrived in France we felt fantastic. I didn't have any of the symptoms that I've felt in the past and my wife felt great. We used it on the return trip and were back at work the next day as if we had never traveled. We now use it on all of our trips no matter how short and always feel great. We don't know how or why it works but we are now believers. It doesn't cost very much and is worth a try. We hope it works for you as well as it has for us. |
