Response Notifier

Ever since I became a member of Museum of Hoaxes, when I comment on a blog post, the "Notify me when someone replies to this" box is checked by default. This is rather annoying, especially considering that it never was before. I don't know about you, but I don't care at all to have dozens of responses emailed to me, and it's hard to remember to uncheck the box. Alex, could you possibly set it to be unchecked by default?
PS: I love the new logo. That's from the book cover, right?

There is a setting under "My Account" (visible when you log-in) that allows you to change this setting. I don't know if it actually works but it seems to. |

Wow. This had bugged me for months also, because if I didn't remember to unclick it, I would get sent every message twice. I didn't realize there was a setting in the login area to stop it being automatically clicked. So I've learned something new, about my own site.
Here's what you do:
1) click login on the main page (at the top of the page)
2) click 'my account' on the right hand side
3) click 'email settings' in the 'personal settings' column
4) unclick 'enable email notifications by default' |

Now I'll try to see if there's any way to have it automatically not chosen by default for every member. |

Thanks for clearing that up. I was having a bugger of a time trying to delete emails. |
