Didn't Ozzie's pets get animal plastic surgery? |

I think it's real, because I know that people who enter their dogs or cats into shows sometimes try to cheat by surgically altering the appearance of the animal. |

My brother and sis in-law have this big, fat, red cat. No, he's not named Garfield, but I call him that anyway. I think the only reason THEY didn't call him Garfield is because he was such a cute tiny little kitten. Well the first half year anyway.
Anyway: he could REALLY use some liposuction. |

Could very well be true knowing how many millions are spent on pets. I love pets (have a dog and two cats), but isn't this going too far. |

Well Kris,
Does your dog look like ....ehr, a dog.
And do you have the money to fix it.
I guess if you would have a litlle nip and tuck on your own body the step to having it on your pet would not be all that big. |

Yes Paul,
I have not had a tuck but I have had a big nip on my own body but that was for cancer and certainly not for cosmetic reasons. Down to reality now. |

I heard a piece on cbc radio a while back, about fake testicles being implanted in fixed dogs, so they don't look fixed. It was suggested that this might have something to do with sympathy pains in male owners.
(cbc is Canada's national public radio ) |

Kris,
You asked our opinion without telling about your own problems. So don't blame me. I can see your point now. |

Pumpkin, I did see that article also. I wouldn't want to be the person that installs them! |

With millions of children starving around the world I think it is almost criminal to spend thousands of dollars on pet cosmetic surgery. Surgery to save a pet's life is unserstandable, but definitely not for cosmetic reasons. The cost of cosmetic surgery for one animal could feed a starving child for more than a year.We need a sense of balance. |
