I'm not sure by any degree, but this tastes of hoax. Especially press and comments, but I haven't dived into it. Opinions? Or someone stateside that knows?

I assumed that they just slapped a 'W ketchup' label on generic ketchup. |

Yeah, but there's nobody here that can confirm if it's real? I mean, anybody actually *tasted* it? |

Roadkill, you may have been searching the wrong state's website. Here is what searching for an LLC called W Ketchup turned up in New York:
http://appsext5.dos.state.ny.us/corp_public/display_entity?p_nameid=3067829&p_corpid=3062513&p_name_type=A&p_search_type=BEGINS&p_request=1&p_entity_name=W KETCHUP, LLC&p_entity_name_input=W KETCHUP
I hope this URL works. The company, at least, exists. I don't know how their ketchup tastes. |

Ah, okay, thanks.
I dunno, sounded too cheesy, but dem crazy amerikaners, they'll get up to anything, (apparently).
Still a wonderfully laughable concept though. |

When it comes to American politics, I'm afraid nothing is too cheesy for somebody to try.
On second thought, we Americans don't have a monopoly on political absurdity. The ways various Germans have been protesting Chancelor Schroeder come to mind. |

Political absurdity. Yeah, listen, my country's being run by a full-blown, democratically elected, honest-to-god (pun intended), priest. Okay?
But I'm NOT BITTER OR ANYTHING. |
