Paul Krassner is a political activist who rose to prominence in the 1960s, first as the publisher of the satirical magazine
The Realist, and then, in 1969, as the co-founder of the Yippies (Youth International Party). Throughout his career he's been known as a satirist, prankster, and hoaxer. His magazine, in particular, was the medium for a number hoaxes. Its tagline was "The Truth is Silly Putty."
