Babycage.net
Status: Hoax

At BabyCage.net we believe that the most important tool you need in life to succeed is discipline. Without discipline and structure, a child may become succeptible to liking rock and roll, doing drugs, or in an extreme case believing in liberalism.
Given that all the company's products are pet cages that have been rebranded as baby cages, I'm pretty confident the site is a joke. I'd categorize it in the modest proposal genre. (Thanks to azog for the link.)

"Baby Cages keep me safe from my pit bull puppy doggy" - That

Oh, and I also love the multi baby cage concept...

There actually was a family that kept their children in cages (I saw it on the news last week). Genious if you ask me.

A few years back, in The Netherlands, there was a case called "The girl from Nulde". It started with a child's torso found on a beach near the Dutch village Nulde. Her head and a hand were found elsewhere.
It took quite some time before the girl was identified; it was a miracle they managed to solve it.
Her mother and step-father had left the country. Some time later they were spotted in Italy with their second little daughter and arrested. A horrifying story of extreme child abuse unfolded. The suffering this innocent 4 year old girl had to endure before she was eventually beaten to death and cut to pieces, is unbelievable.
Her younger sister had to witness all of it and is traumatized for life.
Back to the "Baby Cage"... This joke was a gruesome reality to this poor girl. Every night she was locked up in such a dog cage, naked and cold.
I don't think it's a fun joke.

Although this particular company is pretty obviously a hoax, in principle there's really no difference between a playpen and a wire cage (and many babies might prefer the cage for teething purposes) given similar size and safety precautions: that is, used judiciously to keep the baby out of trouble, no problem; used so caregiver doesn't have to give care, problem.
There's a crying need (pun possibly intended) for a really good baby crib with a top. Once they start climbing, there's no good way to keep them confined at night.

They do sell netting that you can attach to the top of a baby's crib to be sure they don't climb out.

In light of recent news stories, this is sort of a sick joke.

So where is the line drawn between something being a crib and being a cage? They're both designed to confine the occupant. If anything, wouldn't the cage be safer?

Well, yes - and in the light of the potato famine, Swift's "Modest Proposal" was sort of a sick joke. That's what gives it meaning. That's the point.

Is the joke sick, or is the joke simply a mirror held up to reflect a sick society?
Humor is a defense mechanism after all.

Some st@pid Greek journalists covered this issue on Alpha TV on the 18/2/06 news. It is unbelievable how people believe everything that they hear.
Posted by Dave on Mon Feb 20, 2006 at 02:20 AM
the 'reporter' that 'broke' the story is named 'athanasiadi'.
the crypto-communist 'pundits' that called it 'guantanamo-like' and a reflection of Americans' attitude towards punishing and disciplining kids are: Chryssa tavoularis, from the paper 'eleftheros typos'; an idiot named spyros karatzaferis, the brother of a far-right Euro-MP, and one marianna pyrgiotis, a milf and a tv newsreader for alpha tv.

I propose they send all of those journalists involved in "breaking" the story and a couple more from the Athens News Agency as well duck hunting with Dick (Cheney)...

I would have preferred attending George W's 40th birthday party, the one with the hookers, the booze and the coke..!

these cages could be useful...just think of how many abusive parents would wait in line just to "discipline" their "supposedly" out of control kids

the sad thing is that people are stupid enough to believe this site is true.
BUT, I must tell you..
This site is no different than a cage for animal site. If someone is going to lock their child up in a cage, I don't think they are really going to look up "baby cage" on the net. WHY? Well 1 is because you'd think there is no such thing and 2.. because that person would probably think that this site could be run by police of some sort that would look into the situation.
People who lock their kids up, I'm guessing would lock them up in large animal cages and make it look like they are buying for their dog because they don't want to get caught, not order it online from THIS site.
Silly people..

People lock their children in rooms all the time. That also has long lasting negative effects.
I hate to say it, but this site is real. Check out the pictures submitted by people. Someone needs to investigate this.

if a chicken and a half lays an egg and a half in a day and a half, how long does it take a monkey with a wooden leg to kick all the seeds out of a dill pickle?

Babycage IS a hoax! Search it in google.com
Here is the description i found from the search:
Products for infant confinement. [Contains fictitious information]
And John Willis may be an immature kid placing his sister, Dianne in his dead dog's cage(stupid kids falsifying their ages to make a stupid immature site)
We'd better name our male dog John and our female dog Dianne and lets go punishment spree!
Who likes to make a flash game against Babycage, if you wan't then post it in Newgrounds coz' im playing it!
