Where I’ve Been
Some may have noticed that I haven't been around here much for the past few weeks. (I owe a lot of thanks to Flora for keeping everything running.) I've been busy scribbling away, trying to finish my next book. The deadline when I have to hand in the manuscript to my publisher is, appropriately, April 1. Although the book has nothing to do with hoaxes. The title is now officially, Elephants on Acid -- and other bizarre experiments. This was my original title for the book, but then it was dropped for a while because my publisher worried it would be too cryptic, and might possibly offend elephant lovers. But finally the marketing department at Harcourt decided that Elephants on Acid was a lot catchier than Strange Experiments (or any other title along those lines). So it returned to the original title.

Anyway, the completion of my book is in sight, so I'm hoping I'll have more time to spend around here. Though I won't make any promises. I know myself too well to do that.

Huurah! They let you keep the name! It was definitely the best one for it, and I think it's wonderfully catchy.
It's good to see you pop up again love, you've been missed

I hope no elephants will be harmed in the making of this book.

I can't speak for Alex, but I've been on vacation in Pafalafaka working on My Next Book, which I've tentatively titled: "Hairy's Household Hints, and other painful mental boils". Comes out in June from PeanutOilPress... true story

perhaps I, Raoul, The Psychic Gangster of Love should write a new book also, yes? A lengthy tome of impassioned conflict, wrapped in a poigniant tortilla of lust... or perhaps a tell-all memoir of my many amorous conquests, escapades and tangental diversions... or, best of all, an indicia of my secret ways of persuasion, to whom so many have fallen... no, a cook book, I am thinking... Perhaps I will entitle it: "Raoul's Recipes"... no... perhaps this name needs more spice... I think maybe: "Get Naked On The Kitchen Table With Raoul"... don't get Raoul started, okay? Rrrraoul

Vindicated! Thirty years ago I read a report of the elephant who was given acid, trumpeted once, and fell over dead. No one would believe me. Congratulations on your new book.
