Please Take This Survey
I've signed up with a new ad network called Federated Media recently started by John Battelle (one of the founders of Wired Magazine, according to the Wikipedia entry about him). In an effort to better match readers of this site to potential advertisers, Federated Media wants you all to take a brief survey. It's only a few questions: age, address, social security number, credit card info, bank account info, etc. (No, just kidding... they're not looking to steal your identity.) Apparently these surveys are important to advertisers, so if you have a few minutes it would be a great way to help the site out. And hopefully it will result in some better ads. Thanks.

(This should be a one-time thing... the survey will stay active for a few days and then close, and after that I don't think they'll need to collect survey data again. Oh, and if the survey says 'March 2006', just ignore that. I was supposed to link to the survey back in March, but I procrastinated.)

hmm what is my total household income....
Over what period of time?
and hour, a week, a century perhaps?

Its a louzy survey anyway. As usual with these kind of drop-down menu question answers, I couldn't even properly pick the category in which I am employed. Well, I won't see the ads anyway as I use some handy FireFox extensions...

I couldn't resist. When asked on which 5 websites I spent most time, I answered:

1. MoH (of course!)
2. BBC
3. Porn
4. more porn
5. yet more porn

Oh boy, more and better advertisements! I'm crapping my pants with joy!

Yeah, I know you need advertisers to keep the site going, but I still think that the people who work in marketing are one of the lowest forms of life on earth.

I did it! I hope everyone else voted MoH as their top site!

I did it. I was waiting for it to give me a popup that says, "HAHA, you spend HOW MUCH time on the internet??? BAHAHAHAHAHA! GET A LIFE."

Let me get this straight. We should send in consumer data so your website can operate in the black? Cut me off a piece of that and I'll do it. smile

As long as the advertizing upgrades to something better than toilet pranks, this'll be good.

Did it just for you, Alex.
Posted by booch  on  Wed May 17, 2006  at  11:52 PM
Done Alex.

and oh yeah, eriC, nothing in life is free and the quite minimal task of completing a three minute survey is really not much at all for Alex to ask of us considering how much work he puts into the site.

just my opinion smile

Not a very well-designed survey, but I took it anyway.

(Braces self for the resultant avalanche of spam.)

Very happy to do the foolish survey because...

Thank you Alex.

Isn't Alex planning to come back from Edinburgh?

Posted by DukeLeto  in  Bucharest  on  Sun May 21, 2006  at  06:22 PM
Could be we will never hear from him again... Nessy must have been hungry...

Great, now we'll have to build yet another Alex robot. . .

Despite rumours to the contrary, I have not got Alex locked in our cupboard and I have not sent a replicant back to San Diego.

*looks innocent*

Maybe the whole Edinburgh trip was a hoax meant to fool him or one meant to fool us. We'll never know...or maybe we will... who knows, this whole hoax business can be deceiving...

Wait, Alex went all the way to Edinburgh to see readers. I practically live in his neighborhood! Heh, I bet we share the same grocery store.
Posted by Razela  in  Chicago, IL  on  Tue May 23, 2006  at  01:31 AM
For some reason taking a trip down to the local Ralphs grocery store doesn't seem as exciting a prospect as going to Edinburgh. wink

Ralphs, damn it, I go to Vons. My dreams are shattered.

The survey thing is still working Alex as I did it today.
And I agree with Chuck that it's the least we can do to help out Alex. Afterall, if it wasn't for this site, our little UK adventure would never have happened!
