Hand with no thumb

I found this picture on Puld.net, who writes: "The sources said this is not photoshopped or edited and this person really have no THUMB at all! I wonder how he “Thumbs Up” his friends?"

Update: Posted to the Hoax Photo Database.

*squint* I think I'm seeing some artifacting around the three fingers on the left side, which is usually a good indicator of a 'shop.

Although it's been done very well, it still looks a little off.

Besides, if he really did have no thumb and 6 fingers, this story would of have been reported when he was born, or at leats when he was a child.

Also, the finger to the our right is bending in the wornd direction to the others.

I don't know about you guys, but I know I can't do that.

Yes, you can tell by the splay of the fingers that both right and left hands were used. Still, it's certainly artifully done! COOL!

This is an obvious construction -- the two fingers on the rightmost part of the image are pasted-in -- there is a diagonal line where they have been dropped into the image -- the hoaxer didn't even bother trying to smudge the linen very effectively.

If you follow the crook of the second+third finger (from right) diagonally to the "northeast" you will see the line -- and, see that where the line ends, at the side of the hand, the angle *of* the side changes.

This photo is of a real but rare condition called mirrored or reversed polydactyly. Notice that the fingers on each side match. (eg. pretend each finger has a number, the picture above would be: 543345) Unless the person has 9 or 10 fingers on one hand (eg. 543212345 or 5432112345) it's not unusual for them not to have thumbs.

Refer to a book called MUTANTS about differing DNA conditions.

That's interesting. Is it also normal for these poor folks to be saddled with crude photoshopped cut-paste lines too? 😊

(The fact that a certain anomalous condition may exist, does not mean that bogus images of it cannot also exist. The two are not mutually exclusive.)

I don't know if its been altered or not it very well could be. I just wanted to make a comment to a comment stated earlier

"Also, the finger to the our right is bending in the wornd direction to the others."

I actually had a friend who had four fingers and no thumb on both her hands. Her index fingers were turned towards her other fingers and she used them like thumbs.
