Giant Ball Crashed Into Building

Status: Photoshopped
image Here's a picture that's going around, just in time for the upcoming World Cup. Apparently this was created a couple of years ago for a Nike campaign in Mexico. However, the image is just a concept piece created by the JWT agency (i.e. it's photoshopped). This was never done in real life. Pity. It would be a pretty cool piece of urban art if it were real. When I was in Berlin they were constructing a giant soccer ball in one of the squares in the centre of the city. If the one in the picture was real, they'd be about the same size.

Although it's not the source of this exact image, there is a very similar three-dimensional ad for our local team in downtown Columbus, OH. There's pics of it in Flickr:

Its probably real. Two years ago I went to the final match of a southamerican football tournament in Peru. A couple of blocks from the National Stadium in Lima we were able to see the same kind of advertising. A giant ball seemed to be crushing on one side of an old building. Pretty impressive for a third world country. So it aint just a concept image. They actually did it.

OK, it's an ad and it's a hoax. No problem. After all, aren't all ads, especially political ones, hoaxes?

it was real, it was built by nike in a building in the street of Arquimedes in Polanco, a neighborhood in Mexico City. The building was due for demolition, and recently most buildings that happen to be in that situation are transformed into huge billboards...

There is a building in downtown Columbus that has a giant, 3D soccer ball slammed into its side. It does exist! It's an ad for "Crew Soccer", Columbus' pro soccer team. If I had a picture, I'd send it, but no luck.

I agree with Rodrigo an Arturo... I also saw it in Mexico City and almost crash my car... it was spectacular!!! coming out of a tunnel the first thing you saw was a long advertisement of a guy kicking of "chilena" (in a building at your left side... and then at your right 8in the other side of the street)you could see the ball crashing in the that building... it was amazing...
