Dating Service for Single Men Seeking Birthmoms

Status: The intention seems genuine (though it doesn't look like the service has matched anyone up)
Ally forwarded me a link to the website withchild.us, along with this comment:

A friend sent this to me (we used to be part of a young mom's group) and I thought it was really disturbing... Could this site be a hoax? I sure hope so... It's a site that hooks up men who want to adopt with girls who don't want to give up their babies and they have the slogan "Attention Single Men Seeking To Adopt A Baby: Why snatch a baby from a poor 18-year-old birthmom when you can have the baby and the birthmom?" Yeah, weird...

I'm sad to say that I don't think withchild.us is a hoax. Bizarre, yes. But not a hoax. The idea the site promotes, as Ally said, is to pair up guys who want to adopt or find a wife, with pregnant, single women who are considering adoption. The mother gets to keep her baby, the guy gets to have an instant family (wife and kid), and theoretically everyone is happy. But check out the two guys, George Duckworth and Patrick Gibbons, who are listed as seeking pregnant brides:

Not surprisingly, there are no women-seeking-men registered on the site.

Withchild.us is registered to Tom Alciere, who seems to view the adoption industry as an evil business that encourages young girls to get pregnant so it can sell their babies. His alternative is to encourage the young girls to marry guys who would otherwise be shopping for mail-order brides. (He even says, "Why travel to the Philippines to marry an 18-year-old cheerleader when there are young ladies available in your area?") On the surface it seems like a logical solution. Except, of course, that it completely ignores real-world considerations, such as whether any 18-year-old girl in her right mind would want to be saddled with Duckworth for the rest of her life. Alciere is also registered as the owner of internetbrides.info, where he offers info about finding an internet bride, as well as links to sites where you can "get laid tonight". A quick google search reveals that Alciere was a New Hampshire state representative, in which position he stirred up controversy by encouraging people to kill police officers. Charming guy.

yes, he was a representative for Nashua, New Hampshire... As soon as his personal website was discovered it was a big scandal and the voters immediately called for him to resign. He did but first he proposed several bizarre bills in the legislature - all were defeated and now the man is doing sick things like this

damn the internet can be a disturbing place.

What strikes me is the complete lack of privacy at this site. Applicants are named by name with full address etcetera! This is looking for trouble, no reputable "male seeks female" site would do this. Ads to the already bizarre character of the site.

I wonder if he'll help me find my redheaded Irish bride.

Wow, that website was highly disturbing. Can't believe that the creater was actually a representative in washington for a little while. Democracy is wonderful, yes?

Something along the same lineof weirdness and relationships is a report i saw last night about a new type of speed dating called eye gazing. You stare into the others eyes for two minutes or so and are supposed to be able to tell if they are right for you without speaking a word. Pretty creepy i think.

Who cares if men post personal ads on a website? It's not like anyone is compelled to respond to them. And in the unlikely event that some women do, why is it worse than hooking up from anywhere else? After all, men are looking for young women wherever they go. Why all this animosity towards men seeking women? Jealousy, perhaps? No, these men are the losers who have the most trouble finding women; it must be pure misandry. One must really hate men one finds those sad ads "highly disturbing."

There should be an "if" in that last sentence. I wish we could edit our comments here.

I swear the guy on the right, without glasses looks familiar. He looks like a guy from a special on some news channel about Internet Predators. He actually came to a person's house who he believed to be a 14 year old kid (age could be wrong) to have sex with them... Maybe I can find an article about it with the man's picture.

By the way, the show was Dateline on NBC. It was called "To Catch a Predator".

Yes yes, and one guy actually took his damn clothes off before he entered the house and sat down. He was then interviewed like that.

The innevitable advent and promulgation of marriage though internet communication is an objective law irregarless of human will.
It is the disparity of the minions that is in question.

"who seems to view the adoption industry as an evil business that encourages young girls to get pregnant so it can sell their babies" -that is just so damn wrong.

We saw this page and well George Duckworth left his phone number. Needless to say we were all drunk college kids and prank called this guy all this time. It was amazing!!!!! He would always answer swearing and screaming, but would keep answering. He was also very gulliable, please bring this site back up so more guys like Duckworth can post their phone numbers and give us all a good laugh
