According to the
Independent, researchers have proven that
the difference between Coke and Pepsi really is all in your head. Apparently the popularity of Coke's brand image causes people to think Coca-Cola itself tastes better, even though it really doesn't taste very different from Pepsi. As the article says:
"When asked to taste blind, they showed no preference. However, when the participants were shown company logos before they drank, the Coke label, the more famous of the two, had a dramatic impact: three-quarters of the tasters declared they preferred Coke." I've long suspected this. Personally I can't taste any difference between Coke and Pepsi, but I have a friend who swears passionately that there's a huge difference. Now I can show him this research to prove that he's simply been brainwashed by advertising. Oh, and the Pepsi Taste Test also turns out to be nothing but hot air:
"The findings suggest there is no scientific basis for claims made during the Pepsi ad campaign in which testers purportedly chose Pepsi over Coke when they were not told what they were drinking."
Comments
Pepsi has a better taste and logo, no joke
Pepsi is sweeter, and Coke is very, very much hated
Pepsi tastes a lot smoother and Coke is way too carbonated
Pepsi
Both really stinks !!
I personally like Coke, but that just me.
they are both good, but mug rootbeer is the best, and bad company 2 rules, and c4 is better ! ect, random things.
I come from a "Pepsi family", but I never liked it. My family tells stories about trying to give me Pepsi when I was a toddler, and now I refused to swallow it-- I just spit it out every time.
This is probably because I don't like sugar, I never really have. Sweet stuff makes me gag. Coke is bubbly and has a good bite to it-- I love the feeling of opening an East Coast bottled Coke and taking that first sip where it's "hard" and cold and the bubbles fizz up my nose. It's a sensation drink. Pepsi tastes much like slimy candy goo to me, and I have only drank a Pepsi ONCE, out of desperation at a vacation house (the pipes weren't working, so no water, and there was only Pepsi in the fridge). And quite honestly, it was God awful. I went out and bought 2 dozen cokes the next day.
I'm a die hard coke lover though, a FANATIC. My room is decked out with anything and everything with the coke logo on it. I'm clearing off a wall so I can paint their logo. I love coke.
I gag at Pepsi. My friend, a Pepsi drinker (who had no taste preference, she liked Pepsi because James Dean advertised for them back in the 50s), made me do a taste test. She poured regular, east cost coke from a 2liter into a glass, and into another glass put that filth she calls Pepsi (also from a 2liter).
Unfortunately, I sipped the Pepsi first, and immediately spit it back into the glass. She was astonished. "You LOOKED!" she demanded.
Months later, I was at her house, and asked for a Coke. She returned with what looked like my request, but the second it touched me tongue, I was like..."This is a Pepsi". She was seriously shocked.
I can tell the difference between coke from the east or west coke, kosher coke, lime coke, diet coke, coke zero, cherry coke, vanilla coke, south/central american coke, fountain coke, coke from a 2l, small bottle, can, or glass bottle.
Pepsi all tastes the same to me (with the exception of their flavors)
Pepsi? Hep-C. Coke all the way.
I was just drinking a pepsi and after about 2 hours it tasted gross and when i leave a coke out that long it still tastes good.
Now with Pepsi it is sweet, less fizzy and acidic, goes flatter slightly faster, and has a stronger flavor, so it's more of a drink to go with Pizza or a sandwich
