Bigfoot Body Found—Sure to be a hoax

On Friday Aug 15 a press conference is scheduled in Palo Alto to present evidence suggesting that the corpse of a Bigfoot has been found in Georgia. DNA evidence and photo evidence will be presented. (Thanks to everyone who emailed me about this.)

I'd just like to go on record before the press conference to predict that it's going to be a hoax. Bigfoot hasn't been found. Why? Because if a Bigfoot species existed in North America, it would have been found long ago. To remain hidden this long, the Bigfoot species would need to have supernatural abilities.

The evidence that's been leaked so far in support of the Bigfoot Body consists of a photo of what looks like a Bigfoot costume stuffed into a freezer.

Already the "Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization" is claiming that "The Georgia *Bigfoot Body* story is a hoax orchestrated by a veteran media hoaxer named Tom Biscardi."

Sorry, Alex, I have to utterly disagree with your reasoning for why it's probably a hoax, even if I agree with your prediction. I have to ask, are you a city person? Have you ever been to the wilderness of eastern Oregon or central Idaho or high-elevation Colorado or anything like that? There's a lot of truly isolated wild in North America, just like there is in Africa, where 100,000 gorillas just turned up. Things hide better than we humans think they can.

But the sad truth is that if they are out there, there are very, very few of them, and they'll probably silently go extinct without ever truly being uncovered. Which is the same net result as if they never existed. Either way, it will make the world a little less interesting.

Fred, you clearly want to believe, but in this case the fur is clearly synthetic. There is no bigfoot, never was and there never will be. America is hardly comparable to the Wilds of Africa, but you can think that if you want.

I would argue that within the last ten years, with the proliferation of digital cameras and phones with cameras, that we should have seen some photos of one of these "animals". The same goes for any visitors to this planet from other worlds. And yet we don't have anything that passes muster.

I'm not buying any of it.

I agree that this is probably a hoax but I also agree that there are areas of the Northwest that are not expolred well enough to eliminate the chance of Bigfoot being there. I've been in that part of the country and in the wilderness - there is just too much area that is too hard to get to so most people who would have cameras would avoid it. And, yes, my time there was 35 or so years ago but I doubt it has changed a huge amount.

Hmm, you guys are giving me ideas and that's a dangerous thing.

I live on the coast in Northern Oregon. In fact, I live in the county in which part of the TV show Ax Men is filmed. There's a LOT of forest around here. A guy could get some kind of fur suit and simulate, shall we say, a Bigfoot sighting, couldn't he?

Just sayin'.

So, anyone got a Bigfoot outfit lying around?

Tom Biscardi...........You can see hin, but only during visiting hours.

As a lifelong native Oregonian, I can tell you that outside the Willamette Valley is a *bunch* of under-explored wilderness. Bigfoot could hide here pretty well. He'd fit right in with the all the stinky, hairy hipsters if he moved to my neighborhood in p-town, though.

I grew up in a trailer park near Mt. Hood called Bigfoot Lodge. There was a mannequin that someone had glued a bunch of fur on and stashed in the woods behind the place. The thing in the freezer in the photo doesn't look much more convincing. They clearcut those woods a decade ago.
Posted by fuzzfoot  on  Fri Aug 15, 2008  at  08:08 AM
Yep, what Ted said, there is a lot of wilderness area out there in the US, often not that far away from major populations. I'm sure there's stuff out there we haven't found yet.

That said, Tom Biscardi has quite a reputation for being associated with bigfoot hoaxes. Just his name appearing in this announcement destroys all credibility.

Of course, the old "we got it in this box but we can't show you" dodge screams "FAKE" at full volume! If you have it, show it, instead of showing people that claimed they looked in the box!

A costume stuffed with animal organs most likely organs of a opossum they happen to run over coming back from the post office after picking the costume....hahaha
Looks like that to me...
"Hey, dude I think we just ran over a opossum"
"You know, I just thought of a great hoax"
"What?"
"Lets put the organs of the possum in the suit then put the suit in a cooler, then air it on tv and say we found "bigfoot"..That will make our website crash, and bring the ka-ching!"

Alex, your reasoning behind the hoax hypothesis are simply inaccurate.Bigfoot exists it's as simple as that, and when this body turns out to be real I will be able to rejoice in the accomplishment of my lifelong dreams. this is the greatest discovery of all time and should be treated as such.several years from now Bigfoot will become well known to humanity as an excepted species and it will all be because of this discovery. As Biscardi and your likes, dislikes and opinions of him,he may be the key to proving once and for all the existence of Bigfoot.and about Bigfoot having supernatural powers I actually believe that to be very possible. Many reports which have been filed by many reliable people suggest a supernatural creature, rather than a physical one.A creature that can vanish into thin air if it feels threatened which would explain the unknown status of the creature. Also in the Pacific Northwest there are many more microorganisms which are not found elsewhere which would decompose the bodies of the creatures much faster which explains the lack of many bodies because many Bigfoot sightings are in the pacific Northwest, which is why we were so fortunate to find this well preserved speciman which is readily available for DNA testing among the scientific community. So in short I am a believer and given the information I have just provided you with I hope you will join me in my belief and see that my argument is very solid and well documented and not just instant skepticism. Thank You. ~Isaiah -August 18,2008

Apparently, our local Pacific Northwest micro-organisms have the ability to turn a Bigfoot into what looks like a ratty Halloween costume with some raccoon guts on top of it stuffed into a styrofoam container. Thems some POWERFUL micro-organisms.

Yeah, Cranky, judging by some of the stuff I've seen around my neighborhood lately, I'd say we have some of the same microorganisms here in Texas.

I see that a few commenters here seem to disagree with me I wish to make a few more points in addition to my original thoughts. It is very unfortunate that people have to deny the evidence before it becomes available.SEEING IS NOT BELIEVING.This wonderful case clearly illustrates that.Humanity has believed that Bigfoot does not exist, but I believe differently and always will. No matter what direction the evidence leans there is no way anyone from our limited point of view of reality can convince me to believe any differently than I do now. This creature exists and that is infinitely visible to those who do not deny something instantly.Secondly I would like to point out that this is not a costume or a hoax in any way.As stated earlier this creature is quite probably of supernatural origins.Take the many Bigfoot reports of the yesteryear that suggest that Bigfoot is immune to bullets and other weaponry does your man in a suit do that.answer:NO.This CANNOT be a costume. As for the microorganisms,I'm surprised that humans such as ourselves would scoff at the theory. It will decompose many items far faster than they normally would. And thirdly Rene Dahinden is a wonderful person who should be honored for his contributions to our knowledge of the Bigfoot phenomenon. In fact I dedicate this comment to him and his legacy.with my deepest regrets for his family about the unfair criticism he has been subjected to.If in fact I am like him then I'm proud,so thank you for the unintentional compliment. So in conclusion I feel we should not be the evil energy of the universe and accept the truth and the simple fact-BIGFOOT EXISTS. ~Isaiah August 18,2008

I have one more point,Native American legends speak of Bigfoot as a creature that can disappear at will which obviously shows that this is the reason why the creature has remained hidden for so long. Isaiah August 18,2008

Seek help Isaiah.

You have taken the position that you will believe no matter what. In fact your position has become so desperate you have to convince yourself Bigfoot has supernatural origins and cannot be harmed by bullets.

Most here on this site do deny some things instantly, things that are highly improbable in particular. That's the way skepticism works. Remember, extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. A man-like creature that evades detection for centuries certainly qualifies as extraordinary. If some concrete evidence is ever presented, I'm sure most people here would be willing to accept the existence of Bigfoot. We're still waiting however.
Posted by Captain Al  on  Mon Aug 18, 2008  at  09:54 PM
I am unsure of how anyone could possibly accept that "extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof",the idea is absurd.Take the Okapi,Giant Squid and coelocanth the never had "extraordinary proof" in fact they were unknown until the inquiring minds of those far sighted enough to go out searching for these creatures and in the end their diligence paid off and will be recognized among the community of the earth for all eternity. So if Mollusks and scaly fish which were supposed to have died out many millions of years before are thriving in the depths of the oceans of our planet what could prevent a large hairy human-like ape that can become invisible at will if it feels threatened(for more information on the native American feelings of the creature see my most recent post)from going undiscovered for thousands of years????!!?? I am curious on anyone's feelings on this because if I can allow people to see this mystery from my point of view than not only will they have a better understanding on this subject perhaps if I'm lucky I can find a few people who agree with me than that is wonderful.I DO NOT FEEL THAT "EXTRAORDINARY CLAIMS REQUIRE EXTRAORDINARY PROOF" but I do feel that knowledge is power, so I encourage every one who comes on this website to read my posts for a unique and quite true and logical point of view on this creature.comments are encouraged.thank you. Isaiah... you say that you should not discredit something just because there is no proof... but maybe you shouldn't believe something blindly when there is no proof. It goes both ways. You cannot deny something of no proof, but you cannot fully believe in it either. There is no true proof of Bigfoot. There is no proof that it does not exist either. It is up in the air. You are ignorant for believing it exists without a doubt. As for the body-- I would love it to be real. That would totally be amazing. However, the odds are that it is a hoax. Why don't you wait for the results before you declare it to be real?

Also--- Bigfoot supernatural? Disappearing is physically impossible. Being immune to bullets? If the creature is immune to physical harm, then how was this "corpse" found in the first place? I just can't understand how a person could believe things like this. It's one thing for a child to believe, but I assume you are an adult-- perhaps only so in body....

I find it very sad that humanity feels they need proof.I am going to estimate that about three -fourths of on this website are at least somewhat religious,And we know god exists but there's no proof.the world will be a far better place to inhabit if people begin realizing the logic of my thinking and follow in my footsteps so,back to god and Bigfoot there is just as much,if not more evidence to support the existence of Bigfoot than certain other things we believe in,yet those other things exist equally as much. And seeing is NOT believing, for example VERY few of us have ever seen a wild Komodo Dragon in it's natural habitat and we know they exist therefore if people use my logic that I just stated than all of life becomes clearer I may be the world's only hope.Magic should not be replaced with science.

Hey, Isaiah. Too bad you wouldn't back your certainty with a wager 'cause I would be the winner:

http://www.cbs46.com/news/17232407/detail.html

"And we know god exists but there's no proof."

That makes at least two things you're wrong about. We DON'T "know" that God exists. Many people BELIEVE God exists but that is NOT the same thing as KNOWING, no matter how sincere the belief.

Various things that have happened to me in my life, and my family's lives, have convinced me. Scientific evidence? No, but enough for me. I forget which philosifer said "The proof of God's existence is the He does not need to exist to save us." Or something close to that, I haven't read philosophy in decades.
