Phony ‘Forsake Our Troops’ Site

A new shock site called Forsake Our Troops is doing the rounds. It purports to be the homepage of an organization "dedicated to the notion that our nation's military is grossly overcompensated, at the expense of the American taxpayers." In actuality, it's just an attempt to be outrageous. Apparently it was created by a White Power activist called Michael Crook (according to the True or Better blog). Crook seems to have a history of doing things like this. Last year he created a fake group called Citizens Against the Troops. Seems like a charming fellow. Of course, this character could insist that he sincerely believes everything he's saying. But I would contend that he only sincerely wants to be obnoxious. (via Malkin Watch)
Update: This is the same Michael Crooks who once claimed to find a soldier's digital camera at a football game and told the media that he would return it for a 'finder's fee' of $1000.

What do you guys think about Michael Jackson being found Not Guilty? Fair? Accurate?
Posted by Joe  in  VA  on  Tue Jun 14, 2005  at  07:19 AM
Likely not accurate, but since I wasn't there and I didn't listen to the testimony, I must accept the verdict since I believe in the Rule of Law and the law has spoken. When was the last time a celeb was convicted in Calif, Fatty Arbuckle? Or, was he accuited but just ruined? I can't remember and don't know where to look it up right now.

BTW, if you do get this guy's address, maybe you could talk those jerks with their UFO hoax day to send this guy a couple of trucks of boxes. He could use them to store all the wrong "facts" he spews.

For anyone looking for info on the whack job known as Michael Crook, this is what I found. Most everyone knows that the site is gone and a is now up. I discovered the new site while searching for news about his reported death, I was disappointed to learn that was a hoax. But what I did find was a new site ran by Michael Crook, He has a couple of phone numbers posted there, one I believe is his hosting site with the 315 area code. The other is a voice mail phone number. I called that one and the voice sounded like the fruitcake I saw on Hannity and Colmes. With a little more research I learned it belongs to someone by the name of M M Kane at the following address, 301 W Franklin Ave
Columbus, NJ 08022
(609) 858-7154
Upon further checking I found a M M Kane with the same phone number but different area code, 856, located at 727 EVERETT AVE OAKLYN NJ. I don't think it's a coincidence. I just figured that on his interview he talked about using his God given right to freedom of speech then I would use mine to give out as much info as I could. I hope this helps "Hitman". God bless all our Brothers and Sisters in the Armed Forces.

Found this:

"There is a site out there, called Let me say this loud and clear: does not belong to me (Michael Crook), or SMIS Hosting Services. Read on to find out who is responsible for this nonsense.

Before we get into that, however, yes, I did run forsakethetroops.INFO. That site was taken down in mid-May, and it has been sold. Yes, I did appear on Hannity and Colmes, representing forsakethetroops.INFO.

Towards the end of the site, a new website came up under the name of forsakethetroops.NET. The person running this site used the same template that I did, which is readily available in many hosting packages. From there, he used much my original content, which can be accomplished by cut and paste. This would explain why his site resembles the old Troops site.

This site is being presented as my work, and it has come to my attention that he signs e-mail as Michael Crook, but it is the work of someone who identifies themselves as "Brad Kramer". Complaints to myself, or my host, SMIS, will be deleted without being read.

He may be reached at either .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) (the name of the "company" he supposedly owns) or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
He is the one responsible for this disgusting site, and the filth that's on it, not me.

It has stolen the basic look of my Forsake The Troops domain, which has been sold. Add to that the picture of gay military porn on the website, and it equates to a disgusting website.

The false WHOIS data that he's registered can be addressed with a WHOIS complaint to ICANN. He has chosen to register it under my name to make it look as if it's my domain, but the reality is, he should be taking credit for his....uhm..."work".

The previous host was NDCHost, but today a technician confirmed that they "asked (that site) to be removed" from their servers". That's got kicked off of NDCHost.

According to a traceroute, the site is hosted, as I type this, by You may e-mail complaints about the .net site to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

I was able to find out additional information. The current IP address is, which traces to a server called It leads to (, and ar e the nameservers). Now that all traces to a company supposedly called MyNameservers, LLC. That appears to be a reseller for Verio. Nameservers allegedly has an e-mail address of .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

Now, Verio has declined to take any responsibility for this site. They have officially, by way of one of their phone representatives, thumbed their noses at ICANN and copyright regulations. Therefore, it may be reasonable to e-mail .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Or, you can try calling them at (800)551-1630."
Posted by Joe  on  Fri Jun 17, 2005  at  06:19 AM

"Finally, one could write the big boys. ARIN oversees all the IP allocations in the US. Since Verio is denying their duty, it may be reasonable to have action taken against Verio. Abuse complaints may be addressed to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Or, you can call them at (703) 227-9840.

Some other interesting information came to light...but I will post that once I confirm the validity of it.

I'm very close to nailing this scumbag, and it will be beautiful when I do. I've a feeling he's closer than I initially thought he was. Peek-a-Boo, "Bradley Kramer"!

So, yes, I did start the Troops site as a .INFO, but that does not mean I should be blamed for his work, which is an obvious attempt to make it appear as if I'm still running the show-- I have no control over that site.

Hopefully, this will show people that I indeed do not run, and I have no further involvement it, or the .info. Please consider that before you send hate mail or death threats, thinking that I run that site."

I just read every single post on here an saw the video clip of the M. Crook guy and that is exactly what he is, a crook. I am curtrently in the military and I speak for a lot of people when I say it is not about the money. I am at a mid ranking position and we don't get paid much. I have done numerous amounts of research on this and we just barely get by. But this anti-whatever is not by how much we get paid, it is simply an argument to get their point of view to be the right one. We do defend some of the freedoms giveto us Americans but still how can you justifiy doggin american troops when all we want to do is serve our country. We do not sit around a develope a conspiricay to swindle money. We think of how we can make a difference. It is like taking a good thing and making it more complicated. And it sucks to see that our own people can't get their heads down from the sky and for once believe in the truth that we are trying to make a better place. Can some people actually siot here and tell me that "Oh we support our troops just don't pay them as much." We as american soldeirs, regardless of what people say, enjoy risking our lives and doing what is necessary to protect our nation, regardless if it means protesting remarks; but there is only so much you can take of verbal abuse on a good thing. Try to think if we didn't have a military that cares, we would be at the hands of Al Qeada, or other terrorist. We love our country, it is so simple, yet everyone wants to turn a simple thing into politics just to get their voice heard and get their way. Just leave us alone to defend and protect our nation.

Hello everyone. I have watched the news coverage, seen the websites, and heard the rumors. None of it surprises me, and none of it affects me. I have been overseas to Iraq, I have been overseas to Afganistan, I have been overseas to just about every country that the US currently offers support to. Allow me to set the records straight. We don't make much money, we don't get nice cars or lavish perks, and we don't ask for them. We do what we do because no one else will. There is not one person in this world that wants to take a life. Mr. Crook, if you are reading this, I wish you luck sir, you are going to have a hell of a time in life. To the supporters who side with my comrades in arms and I, we thank you and we miss you. We fight, we win. Enough said.

I had read some of the posts at the start of this, saw the wmv of Michael Cook, and can say I can readily agree he's an idiot. I am a military wife, and while I don't agree to the war in Iraq, the military isn't about money, school tuition, or many of the other ideas he has stated. While it would be great to have a military suited to just guarding our borders the turn of phrase that comes to mind is "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure"

I believe that (and yes I realize I may be wrong) we as a nation are trying to prevent terrorist tactics such as September 11th from repeating themselves. I personally do not want to see/hear about anyone in the military being killed, there is always the chance that could be the person/people you care about out there next.

What I am saying is that freedom of speech is a freedom, and while Michael Cook, and the war may not be worth supporting, the troops that risk their lives regardless are. There are no choices for soldiers (in reality) in the military. They do not have the ability to say, I do not believe in this therefore I will just say I don't want to go.

If there people have issues concerning the war, there are other alternatives rather than bashing the military. How easy is it to say "Well I don't agree, and the military sucks, their just a bunch of idiots, etc." How much more difficult is it to actually send out letters to congressmen, etc., the people who have control of where our troops are sent, protesting the work the military is doing? Just my dollars worth. tongue laugh

I have read many of the articles above and I see that the majority of us think that this stupid piece of shit should be stoned to death on national TV. Listen to me you fuck chop. In some areas of the world you would be stoned to death for talking out about the military the way you do.

Now all of a sudden you want to end your affiliation with the web site. It doesn't matter if your with the site now or not. You still feel that way and you started that shit. Don't think that we are going to forget about you. Some of us will still try and find you. So don't think that you can go and try and back out of this now. You started this shit storm so now you better take responsiblity for it.

A US soldier wouldn't back out of fight just because it was getting to tough or he just doesn't want to do it any more. If we start something we finish it. You think when the bullets start flying and your pinned down in the street or in an alley we can just say, okay I give up Mr. Bad guy stop shooting at me, I don't want to do this anymore. "HELL NO" we can't. So guess what, you started this so take some responsiblity for it and tell us all where you live so we can bring the fight to you now.

Mr Crook,

Congratulations on becoming one of the most hated people in the United States. This must have been your goal with what your putting on the net and saying on television. I think what your doing is taking advantage of the freedoms we have in this country. Not that your the only one, but your the only one who is crazy enough to get on television so everyone can see you. Let's see, you are one man (not confirmed) and there are how many Active and former members of the Armed forces walking among you? It's only a matter of time before one of them recognizes you on the street and takes advantage of our week criminal justice system and shows how well trained they are. I would not want to be in your shoes. Not sure how you sleep at night. I imagine you do not get out much these days.

Take Care,
Michael P. Eastman

Reading all the comments that have been posted against this twerp, (threatening violence against him etc.) gives me the shakes. I am a firm believer in the marketplace of ideas and I got shot at so that this asshole could be an asshole and speak his asshole thoughts. He should have his ideas disproved and shot down. If he speaks them to you, to your face, they might constitute "fighting words" and justify a punch in the face but I do not approve of the attempt to censor him nor the attempts (only words so far as far as I know)to commit greivious injury against him. I do know that if he spoke like that in front of me, I would probably punch him. But that would be an instinctive reaction. I doubt I would hunt him down and kill him and I do not think that the people who advocate that are speaking what is or would be on the minds of most military people.

Excellent point CC. I, too, would probably kick the legs out from under this idiot if given the chance... but he has the right to hate. He has the right to write, type, and say anything he wishes. Many people (military especially... which I am) argue the point that it is the military that protects his right to talk $hi+, but then THEY are missing the point... it IS his right. Flag burning (other than during a ceremony to retire a flag) is the same way. Nothing makes me more upset... but it is a right we protect. So the question is: does he really believe what he preaches, or does he cause chaos simply because it is his right?

I figured I might as well post here to all the people who decided that this poor "human being" a victim of hawkish right wing conservatives.

If you watch the Fox News interview (which is Conservative TV, I know), you can tell he does not feel what he says. He doesn't know how to answer simple questions. He berates the troops for their pay and benefits, but when the simple question of "Isn't your battle with the people who make the policies" is asked, he turns into a blubblering idiot.

I don't support the war in Iraq. I think it's been proven on a daily basis that we had no business going in there, but that's a different story. I support our troops whole heartedly. Anyone willing to risk their lives so that I may have mine is okay in my book. That goes for cops and firefighters too.

This idiot, however, has no moral objection to anything. He's just trying to get notoriety to sell his domain names on E-Bay (which E-Bay has rightly brought an end to).

I feel if people dont like the US and their freedom's , leave. No one is stopping you from buying a plane ticket out of the country , oh wait a min , its your right to choose weither you come and go as you please , where you live , where you can work. I served in the millitary , the pay isnt as great as everyone think's *i was a enlisted memeber E-3* . I still qualifed for food stamps, i have a husband but we didnt have any children. I support the troops that they made the choice to server our country. As for this guy, he is a dumb twit. I would
LOVE to see him say that stuff to any soldiers and family's faces. But sadly it's because of those same soldiers he rants on , that he has a right to voice his childish veiws.

Michael Crook is a poor exscuse of a human being. That man has ruined his life. Maybe he is angry becasue he was rejected for military duty *shrug*. He needs to go spend a week with the men and women over there and see what they go thru.

One of the previous posts mentioned M. Crook's right to voice his ideas in the marketplace so to speak. The problem is he has no ideas. His website, appearance on H&C, and subsequent pathetic plea 'my site was sold/hijacked' only prove one thing: another pathetic attempt by some slacker to gain his/her 15 minutes of fame.

The real heroes of America or any other nation are those that get up go to work, set a positive example for family, friends, and strangers, and give their hand to help other less fortunate. Helping someone does not mean giving them a free handout to make them dependent on you.

Iraq needs help to establish a democratic nation where none existed. As their citizens transition from tyranny to a new way of life they are at the greatest risk right now. Think of a child that has been abused but is rescued. Without help this same child will most likely grow up to abuse others following the pattern they learned.

Michael Crooks is nothing more than a cocksucking liberal! But he should thank the troops that protect his cocksucking ass, for giving him the chance to say what is on his mind. We as AMERICANS have freedom of speech. So now I have every right to say what is on my mind. I feel that Michael Crooks is just pulling this shit to get his name out there. I think he will one day get what he deserves. Which in my OPINION is, to be tied up and pulled behind a pickup truck down a gravel road until there is nothing left but a dangling rope. I would just like to thank the brave men and women who give up everything to protect the best country in the world, The United States of America. Thank You for giving me my freedom of speech. If anyone has any comments on what what I have said, email me. .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

I just wanted to say after seeing the fox news interview that this man hasn't the slightest idea what people have sacrificed for this country, only to allow assholes like this back home thinking it's their god given right to freedoms that they don't have the balls to protect. It's easy to bitch back home where your safe. Try finding the courage to leave everything you know and go fight for something greater than you, then maybe you'll earn the right to say something. Until then, shut the fuck up and go get that college degree that us "morons" give you the freedom to achieve.

Hey Alex (or whoever posted this site): So when Rosie O'donnell badmouths our troops, it's staged? When anti-war activists hold up signs at troop funerals that say "Thank god for dead soliders", "thank god for IED's", it's all staged? How about when John Kerry says our troops are uneducated and terrorize women and children in the dark of night? There are liberals out there who hate the troops. It's real!!!
