The fun thing is, it’s actually an expanded version of a short film. Personally, I like the way the short is presented.. No words, yet very compelling story..

I watched that, it was great.

Speaking of which O’l Tim is also making an Alice in Wonderland movie apparently.

O’l Tim hasn’t let us down so far. . .

Well, at least he hasn’t done it too terribly often. . .  😉

Though of course that’s a matter of opinion, really.

This film looks as though it has potential.  On the other hand, that’s the idea that all previews try to give.  Often to the point where the preview shows all of the best scenes, and gives a false impression of the movie’s actual plot and character.

Somebody’s always making a new version of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass.  Why doesn’t somebody remake The Hunting of the Snark or some other one of Carroll’s stories?

Well this AIW version is actually like Burton’s “Sleepy Hallow” (which I didn’t think was that bad, I’ll put in 😠 ) It loosely follows the source material, but has a plot pretty much different from the books. It’s a tale of after Alice went to Wonderland. She’s now 17 or so and goes back to save the Wonderland inhabitants from the tyranny of the Red Queen (“Off with her head!”)

I’d go for “The Hunting of the Snark” though. I loved that. 😊

Someone could make Hunting of the Snarf.  I know many a person who grew up in the ‘80s who would love to see that character blown away.

ETA: And just to stay on topic, I usually enjoy Tim Burton movies.  But there are some that I don’t.  This movie doesn’t seem all that great to me.  Meh.  Funky, weird, stop-motion animation (if I remember the trailer properly from when I saw it quite some time ago - I didn’t watch it from this thread) set up an apparently dark and weird world.  Double meh.

Yes, the Queen of Hearts was the one in the first book, who was always crying “Off with their heads!”  The Red Queen was in the second book, and helped to guide Alice.  She’s more famous for her line about needing to run as fast as you can just to remain in place.
