I thought this not only interesting, but also enlightening.  Some of you (or all) may have already read it….but just in case:  http://skepdic.com/miracles.html

It is very interresting that so many people discredit miracles. Perhaps it is not defying the laws of nature; perhaps the laws of nature are more complex than they seem, and according to such laws, these “miracles” are nothing more than a natural occurrance. smirk

No, what’s interesting is that sea stars probably had ancestors with bilateral symmetry.

Soldier: Oh, right. I forgot about the battle.

A Miracle is just that and unexplained occurance.  We take it just the way it is.  There will never be and bound expination.  Why question everything in life.

Why not?

Why question everything in life.

Because otherwise you never learn anything?

I was under the impression that most, if not all miricles are just simple illusionary tricks. In Decemebrs issue of Fortean Times they cover miricles performed by Indian Gurus, such as the apportation of ash and religious symbols from “Thin Air”. Some of the crosses that one such guru (Sai Baba) produced were blatantly taken from a neck-chain as they had the hole at the top to carry the chain, and one even had a serial number stamped on the back.
If we classed these antics as miricles then surely David Blaine, and dare I say it, even Paul Daniels are miricle workers too!

Ah Mort, you’ve mixed up all these:  Miracles, Magick and magic ... HAHAHAHAHAH!!!  Miracles are those ‘things’ or events that are effects from causes…. a bit like mind over matter.  Excess adrenaline is caused by extreme conditions that can actually turn an otherwise muscle-challenged mother into a kind of super-human if her baby is trapped.

Magick is the Pagan word for basically the same thing as Miracle except that a pagan is more aware that he/she is focusing through words or conjuring….still mind over matter really

Magic is illusionary tricking or slight of hand
