I don’t have anything to back this up…and the only reason I am mentioning it is b/c of something I listened to for less than 5 minutes on the radio last night.
Dr. Drew Pinsky was talking to two men about getting some issues on a ballot (I tuned in late, so I’m not sure what it was)...they were saying how this is the perfect time for it. Then I realize they are discussing closing down a US Airbase in Turkey. B/c Turkey is trying to invade Northern Iraq (I am naive about most of that stuff - so don’t try to ask me more), and since the US is IN Iraq…and we’re supposed to be keeping invaders out…how were we going to protect Iraq AND continue to “aid” Turkey [b/c of the airbase]?? Anywho…as the conversation progressed Dr. Drew asked about something in Kuwait. The guest on the show said that “no one will acknowledge the genocide happening in Kuwait…” He started to speak about it more…and suddenly I hear silence. I checked my other stations - they were all working. But I couldn’t get ANY sound on that ONE station. No static, no random sounds playing through from other stations…
It was just the most bizarre thing. What’s the FCC up to anyway?
They made it seem like a current thing…not something from the past. I didn’t have any luck searching google for details…but maybe I’m using the wrong key words. I just thought the radio silence was a bit weird. I switched around stations a little more…and when I got back to the station that I had been on - it was commercials & then I was home.
