Sure. They did the same thing with hippies, even though not everybody who looked like a hippie was one, and they did it with the kids who wore mohawks, and presumably they did it with Beats and flappers…

Thus it is and thus it has always been.

Oh, I know, but Nixon was a much more satisfying scapegoat—although Spiro Agnew (Nixon’s VP, my children) was even better, now that I think about it. As far as I can tell, he had no redeeming characteristics whatsoever.
